Title: N.Korea launched 10 missiles: Russia

North Korea launched a total of 10 missiles, the head of Russia's General Staff was quoted as saying on Wednesday, but he could not confirm how many of them were intercontinental weapons. According the news, they fired 7 missiles. Only one was intercontinental and it failed after take-off.

Both Russia and China seem to want things to stay the same though, so I doubt anything will change.

I just think it's a shame that an impoverished country like N.Korea spends it's funds for military purposes rather than through aid.

Isn't communism supposed to be about helping everyone and keeping them all equal.  Stalinistic totalitarianism is what they got.

Communism works better on paper than in the real world.

Too bad that in the current political situation nuclear weapons seems to be the best way to stay in power if you're not friends with the US.

I believe it's more of a deterrent than anything else. I mean, Kim Jong Il may be drunk on his own power and is somewhat loopy, but he's not completely fucking stupid to attack anybody.

The news here (Japan) is saying they fired 7 missiles just towards Japan.
