Tom DeLonge's years-long effort to publicize alleged UFO sightings came to fruition this week when the U.S. Navy officially released three of the clips the former Blink-182 singer has been talking about for years.
The eerie clips, titled "GIMBAL.wmv," "FLIR.mp4" and "GOFAST.wmv" were first published by the New York Times and DeLonge's UFO research organization, To the Stars Academy, in 2017 and 2018.
In one, among the most infamous alleged UFO sightings on record, a Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet jet has an otherworldly encounter with an unidentifiable, white, oval-shaped object off the coast of San Diego in 2004. DeLonge, a space devotee who has been obsessed with unexplained phenomena for much of his life, founded the ufology organization To the Stars Academy of Arts & Sciences, which produced the 2018 six-part History Channel show Unidentified: Inside America's UFO Investigation.
