From Korea to Japan. Simmim (シンミン) left her hometown to become part of the Hello!Project and be under the management of Up-Front Agency. According to the H!P announcement (http://www.helloproject.com/newslist/member_0607161500.html), she was the winner of a Korean tv show looking for new talents. She debuted to the Korean audience in some dramas and MC-ed various things. She loves the sports and that’s why she has been attending Gatas Brillhantes trainings (H!P Futsal Team)*. She has been and she is currently learning Japanese, voice and dance lessons, and keeps up her own blog (http://yaplog.jp/simmin/). Her profile comes with the announcement: She was born in April 28th, 1983, South Korea. Blood type A. Height: 168cm. Hobbies: Watch movies and room decorations. Special skills: Dance.
It is not known when will she debut. Good luck in H!P, Simmin!

I just added her blog to my RSS feed, I don't want to miss any of her posts, because I agree with what you are saying here. We are really getting a sort of behind the scenes look at the H!P life. I'm loving all the cute pictures. Looking forward to her next update already!

She has that kind of wota vibe to her that shokotan does, which is why she updates her blog so frequently, I guess. I just hope she keeps on posting once the novelty of being in h!p wears off.

I sort of get that vibe as well. Like she is on some sort of awesome H!P holiday trip and keeps a photoblog of her stay. I hope she'll keep up the blog even after she debuts and such. That would be really interesting.

When I saw Simmin's picture for the first time, it was love at first sight. I'm serious. I find her really pretty and her blog pics help justify that. I'll definitely support in what ever she does. If she releases anything, I'll buy them all, regardless how she sounds/dance/acts!! Simmin, I'll support you so you can be (hopefully) successful too!!

I tried to do some snooping around, and I found that Simmin used to be a part of this show (http://www.kbs.co.kr/2tv/enter/gamestation/index.html), and three clips featuring her when she was still in Korea! One is some feature where she stretches (!) about. The two find her dancing (!!!!!) to some song on a TV show. Needless to say, I love it. XD And she speaks!!

My guess is that they'll try to turn her into something like BoA. She'll be solo and release korean and japanese stuff. And she'll be put in Gatas to give her something to do while she's still learning japanese and to show her to H!P fans.

Oh wow yes.... but just a small question: if she's IN H!P, why the hell did she had to buy a ticket at the stadium? Couldn't she get it delivered at UFW or wherever their offices are? But it does look like her....

It's difficult finding new info when you don't speak Korean but I gotta keep the thread alive as best possible so I did some scouting to other forums to see what they have come up with.

OK, I found a little more info on her. Her real name is Shim Soonmin (so her stage name should be romanized as "Shimmin" or "Simmin", depending on how you like to romanize Korean), and her debut was on m.Net's "Super VJ Model Selection Conference" in 2003. Some of her previous jobs have been "Matchmaker 'S'" (XTM, 2005), "Weird Girl, Weird Boy" (KBS, 2005), "KBS Sky Sports 'TV Game Club Recreation Room'" (2005), "M.net Wide Entertainment News" (2004). Her hobbies are movie appreciation and room decorating (I think? Not so sure about the last one).
So her Korean name is Shim Soonmin, cool now I can see how she got her nickname.

It seems like it's not only famous in Asakusa, but even in whole Japan...

The girls remind Sanma that there was also a Korean girl in H!P - Sinmin (who he actually met, and remember after being told so :D), but she “unfortunately” went back to Korea (it seems that the girls don’t want to talk about the reason :O). Maki says Sinmin actually became famous in Korea due to her time in Hello! Project (she is being recognized by the general public, and has some big poster somewhere in downtown Seoul :o).

As far as I know,I don't think she'll be training under H!P anymore which explains why she's back in Korea. I heard that she was planning to continue her modeling career and is continuing to participate on several Korean variety shows like Golden Bell. She's been popular even before she was a H!P exchange student and is very good friends with Maki Goto.
