Would this work http://www.j-talk.com/nihongo/

http://www.rikai.com/perl/Home.pl is my favorite. Type in a web address or text and just hover over the kanji with your mouse to get the hiragana readings and translations!

Wow Mochan, that is brilliant! Thanks heaps for that link! Kanji is, and always will be my number one Japanese enemy!!! I'll never learn the stuff!!

I use Jim Breen's WWWJDIC (http://etext.lib.virginia.edu/wwwjdic). Click on 'Translate words in Japanese text'.
Also, if you click on 'Search for words in the dictionary' (and tick 'Check if the keyword is romanized Japanese') you can type in a word in romaji (or hiragana, katakana, kanji, whatever you like) and get the kanji and the definition in English.
