Title: [Discuss] Your Superstitions?
Post by: daigong on May 28, 2005, 09:28:20 PM
Fill in the blank:

My team can't win unless I ____________________________.

For me, My team can't win unless I simulate the game on an EA Sports title the day of the game. Has to be before. Like say I fire up NBA Live and have Shaq score 50.

Other rituals/superstitions I used were wearing the jersey - AND NOT WASHING IT until the playoffs were over, lining up my bobble heads in the direction where my team was playing...

Take over Bill Gates' body, buy the team, and then get players that can actually work together to win games!!!

watch every game.

I watched all 7 games during the houston series, and only about 3 during the Suns.

NAW! I rig it to to Rookie mode, usually ends up 125-25 :P

Sometimes I try something else, if it don't work. Find something until they win.

I've been trying a few this season.

Washing and wearing my McNabb jersey. Mixed results lol

but I pulled out my old White Sox T-shirt and wore it everywhere and the Oilers began winning 5 in a row. Then they lost and I tossed it into the hamper. Until I physically washed it before the game tonite, the Oilers finally snapped their two game slide. CRAAAAAZZYY.

when my african american friend turned on the tv and watched the 4th quarter of the mavs vs. suns game. Mavs erased like a 14 pt deficit and won. 2 days ago he didn't watch it and we lost.

That article IS deep. they got stats on third jerseys, alternate home jerseys. it's nuts. and no team should change their logo unless it's totally necessary. WTF the Pistons and Islanders waay back.

Alberta Beef was thrown on the ice during the Detroit-Edmonton series...in reaction to the usual squids thrown on the ice at Joe Louis Arena. It was local DJs who tossed it during the Canadian national anthem.

Big Georges Laraque reacts:

"They threw the beef in Detroit, and we won. I think it's an awesome idea," said Laraque, who was so hyped about the idea he could barely contain himself yesterday.

"Edmonton has better fans than Detroit. What better way to rub it in their faces than by throwing a big Alberta steak onto the ice?

"It gets people revved up. We can associate it with winning and start a whole new tradition!"

Besides, Laraque added, it’s free advertising for Alberta’s beef industry, which has been hobbled by recent American attempts to stall cattle trading since the mad cow scare.

I shaved it since Lakers lost two in a row :P It was about half-a month-away from looking like Gasol.

My rituals have been lame this year. When McNabb went down, I threw my jersey into the laundry basket downstairs...but forgot to wash it. Eagles went on to go 6-0.

And I usually avoid posting on a game day, before a game...but that has been hit or miss lol cuz I can't take a break.
