Call it opportunistic or just plain unfortunate. The folks at Universal Tube & Rollform Equipment have had such a tricky time with their Web site that they're now suing YouTube.com.

It appears the company's Web site, utube.com, has received so many millions of inadvertent hits from web users itching to visit its popular almost-name sake, it has now crashed about five times. /me thinks it's just a ploy to actually draw attention to their site (which hopefully, will lead to them actually getting some business). XD

I think SMS typers are the culprit :) (l33t might be the word now? have no need to keep up with that)
I gues that they could get some hosting services from YuoTube to get past the bandwidth problem (bandwidth does cost money!) There have been several other cases where sites like these either went down or added links to 'you might wanted to go here'

both of 'em are un-cool. YouTube bans all the cool users and removes the cool videos :)

yeah, what's the big deal. i guess most people know youtube is spelled as "youtube" and not "utube".

The same thing happened to http://www.nissan.com

In his case, you think it would have been a lot easier to sell the domain. :ONdunno:

theres like 5 different youtube wanna be sites , 3 of em are about sex.... and now we have new sites like veoh wich is quite nice , but its still kinda buggy ...

Veoh's the best site of them all now, atleast after i got the update today. streams are super fast now. faster than youtube atleast I don't have to pause the video first for an hour long clip like i used to. within a  minute or so it has about 35% of the hour long clip downloaded
