A japanese style maid-cafe has opened in Scarborough Ontario. iMaid Café was launched by Aaron Wang, a 24-year-old student of Economics at York University....
Aside from the cosplay (Wang says some customers arrive in cosplay as well), iMaid Café is more of a Chinese-Canadian twist on a Japanese theme than a Japanese themed restaurant. Chinese music and TV plays in the background, the menu features bubble-tea as well as traditional Chinese food and North American food. Damn you Canadians! If you're really interested:

The menu looks pretty good. I'm hoping that "Egg wrapped rice" is the name that they've given to "omuraisu". Well, there's another reason to visit T.O. :)
-
Hmm they open at 11am, I'm gonna stop by there tomorrow and check ito out :panda_shifty:
-
^ If you're able to, take pics please. :D

@ Happosai: You were just waiting for an excuse to use that image! :P:ONhiakhiakhiak:
I wouldn't mind visiting it if I lived in Scarborough, Canada.
I bet they'll be some old hag complaining about how it's demoralizing women or something.:MKsigh:
:MKdigger:

It was opened quite awhile ago. Not that new ;)
-
Tyler's probably frequenting it
-
LOL, oh man...how did i know, just from loooking at the title of the thread, that my name would turn up sooner or later.
But I don't think I'd visit this one, I like real, Japanese Maid cafes, with Japanese maids, Japanese staff, Japanese TV, music, games, menus. and where I can actually speak in pure Japanese with the Maids.

And Yes, I admit, I have somewhat of an addiction to visiting Maid Cafes, I'm a Maidaholic.

You should start your own and show em how to run it.

-
a friend from T dot said the food was crap and they all speak mandarin.
-
so this is a wannabe hostess bar then?
-
pretty much i guess it's a "chinese themed" maid cafe
-
yup yup it is, and I've passed by many times already (since I live in Toronto and I visit my friend in Scarborough often).
Not planning to visit the store at all, since if I do want to go to a maid cafe I would like to go to an "original" one, i.e. in Japan!
That boss looks really OTAKU to me, even if he denies it.
-
As soon as I have enough money, I'm going to TO!
-
