Title: A Molecular Condom against AIDS
Post by: Foxy Brown on December 15, 2006, 11:28:54 PM
University of Utah scientists designed a "molecular condom" women could use daily to prevent AIDS by vaginally inserting a liquid that would turn into a gel-like coating and then, when exposed to semen, return to liquid form and release an antiviral drug. (http://www.unews.utah.edu/p/?r=111706-2)

It's weird that they're calling this a condom, since by no means does it act like one.  Might be useful in places like certain African countries where uninfected women are married to infected men who insist on not using a condom.
