Any fans? They broke up in 2000 but still one of the few Jrock bands I listen to. We all know them as the band that has the dummer that married 1st Generation MM Aya Ishiguro (dude on the extreme left)

I only got hooked on during LUNACY so I missed all their visual stuff. Ryuichi Kawamura has done songs for pop stars like Uehara Takako. The others had their solo projects...SUGIZO had a mini movie "Soundtrack" co-starring the hot Kou Shibasaki.

Songs I like: Love Song, gravity, TONIGHT, etc.

I got "Slow" a few weeks ago, it's a "best of" of some sort. I'd say my favorite songs are Mother, gravity, crazy about you and Forever & Ever.

Storm was one of the first songs I ever learned to play on guitar. All A class musicians and I miss them. At least they get back together and have a concert every once in a while.
Too bad Ryuichi turned to pop when the band broke up. He has the best voice in all of Japanese rock and it's going to waste. Heard a funny story that when they reunited for a concert a few old women, who were fans of Ryuichi's solo stuff, showed up and had to hold their hands over their ears the whole show. Hopefully, they'll record a new album some day.

LUNA SEA was one of the greatest rock acts I've ever seen though.... and Sugizo is an animated genius.

When they disbanded, I really like SUGIZO's music and then I saw Shinya playing with Aikawa or playing in some J-Rock events... but I really don't like INORAN's music... very different genre of music.. :pen_nono: LUNA SEA... one of the greatest in the world of J-Rock...

I'm actually grabbing this myself as I've only heard Mother to date and I wasn't such a big fan. A lto of other people do recommend them though so I'm hoping that I'm just missing the point at the moment.

The video I linked to is the actual concert that aired on TV. It's not the full concert, though. It's missing about 4-5 songs. See, that's how the get you to buy the DVD that's coming out in March :P . The $70 DVD...
Oh, it seems as though Luna Sea and X Japan are going to play at the recently announced hide memorial concert in May. That would be a killer show to go to. I'm sure a bunch of other bands will play too.

On August 25, they announced that they will hold a press conference on August 31 in Hong Kong, where they once announced their breakup in 2000, and it will be broadcasted worldwide through Ustream. During the conference, they announced that they get back together and will undertake "20th Anniversary World Tour Reboot" starting with a concert on November 27 in Germany and ending with 2-day concert at the Tokyo Dome in December. Be sure to listen to their music before you go to the concerts!

LUNA SEA announce best-of album, live album, and nationwide tour

LUNA SEA has announced that they will be releasing a best-of album and live album on May 28th. Additionally, they will start their nationwide tour titled 'LUNA SEA 25th ANNIVERSARY LIVE TOUR THE LUNATIC -A Liberated Will-' on June 7th.

This year marks the 25th year anniversary of the band's formation. Their best-of album "LUNA SEA 25th Anniversary Ultimate Best -THE ONE-" will include all singles they've released from their debut to their latest "THE ONE -crash to create-". Meanwhile their live album will be the second part of their live best-of album "NEVER SOLD OUT" which was released in May of 1999. These two albums will also be available for purchase together as a box set.

Furthermore, LUNA SEA will hold a long tour, performing 32 shows in 16 locations. It will kick off as a 2-day live on June 7th and 8th at Mori no Hall 21 in Chiba. Tickets will go on sale sequentially to the general public on May 24th.
