Title: (Band) SUPERCAR
Post by: hibachifinal on December 19, 2006, 06:47:14 AM
my favorite artist. ever.
probably one of the best bands from japan. (i mean it)
their songs are mixes of punk, grunge and electronica..

the are composed of Koji Nakamura on gutiars/synth/vocals, Miki Furukawa on bass/2nd voice, Junji Ishiwatari also on guitars, and is the band's lyricist, and the drummer/programmer, Kodai Tazawa.

cehck them out, their music is a bit on the eclectic side, and each of their albums are deviously different from each other.

and to start off, you might want to listen to one of their more popualr songs.

Strobolights.

and their most popular song (relatively), Whtie Surf Style 5

:)
and oh, sadly, they broke up early 2005, :(

Great band. I like both their early alternative rock and late electronica sound.

Strobolights was linked already, so here's my other favorite song by them,

Yah, Supercar! I haven't heard any of their solo work except for Miki's.

I love Wonder Word. PV is pretty slick as well.

I prefer their later stuff from the earlier stuff I think, but I still like the older stuff.

Miki's solo stuff is also pretty awesome.

well, im a bit biased, cuz i liked all their stuff in general.. but i geuss it's just interesting to note on how much their music evolved. in a sense. and it was gradual, like, 3outchange isnt too far off from jump, just like jump isnt too far off from ookeah/ooyeah, and so on.

another thing that i sparked my curiosity are the b-sides (and the wonderword mini) which is really very... hrmm, deviant from their main release, but still, these tracks showcase the band's (or in this case, Koji :P) programing/arrange skills in the more electronic sound...

hehe. and yeah, later songs like Last Scene really made them great.

head's up to fans who might have missed. thier 1st album, Three Out Change!!, got re-released, as 10th Anniv. Edition. It includes a second disc, with 7 tracks, 4 unreleased versions of early singles and 3 live cuts.

I've only heard the first disc so far. Not that much of a difference.

How's the second disc?

Supercar is so awesome, like from another universe or something... they literally changed my life!
Hope we'll still get to see them together in the future doing some kickass music!

And I'll have to check those Koji's solo albums like... now!! :)
