Too bad, was he actually confident that he was going to win them over.

I had a very similar conversation with my uncle several years ago, he is a music professor in Mexico. I basically gave him the same reason why I liked Japanese music as our friend Antonio here did and he asked me the same series of questions as the judges from this show did.

And no I did sing to my uncle in Japanese.

weirdness apart.. it's funny how he is asked whether he understands the lyrics... while any other singing in english won't have to face the same question.. although we have a crappy level of english here in spain.
