It's weird, the Simpsons episode with Gerald Ford aired that night.

He was a nice guy and an alright president.

He died peacefully at home at 93 as a respected man, known for being a good person and surrounded by a couple dozen grandkids. That's how I want to go.

Yeah, good timing or what?

Computer: Warning, problem in Sector 7-G.
Mr. Burns: 7-G? Good God, who's the safety inspector there?
Smithers: Uh, Homer Simpson, sir.
Mr. Burns: Simpson, eh? Good man, intelligent?
Smithers: Actually, sir, he was hired under Project Bootstrap.
Mr. Burns: [bitterly] Thank you, President Ford.

Watching all these tributes, never knew he was a big Michigan football man either. Playing against Lambeau, and other football legends.

So many new revelations suddenly too. The Newsweek tapes :o on Reagon, Bush Sr. how loyal he was to Nixon. How he didn't want to go to Iraq. A good statesman if he was given the chance.

And the Oilers got to hang out with him too, Gretzky and friends golfed with him:
