Basically what the title says, what does your family think of H!P? Mine, in general, doesn't know much about the H!P world, but I keep my mom up-to-date with random things. Like Koharu, for example.
Mom: she hasn't listen to/watched MUCH, but she's in love with Mr Moonlight. I showed her a live performance of the said song, like ages ago, and she said she really liked it.
my brother: ummmm.. He liked From That Sky, Balalaika, and some Melon Kinenbi songs. He doesn't really like listening to things in Japanese XD. Once, I showed him a picture of Yuko, and I'm like, "Isn't she HAWT? <3" and he goes, "No." Maybe that's because he's only nine, haha
Dad: my dad lives in Australia, so I can't like.. force him to listen to music or anything. I got him to listen to an mp3 rip of Airi's Boogie Train '03 perf from HPH, and he seemed midly impressed.
I should try and get my brother into Melon Kinenbi or something.

my dad knows that i 'like japanese girls' but that's the extent of it. although he went with me to the Kinokuniya bookstore in little tokyo and suggested Risako's pb XD he saw it and was like 'what about this one?'

No one in my family really cares and I don't bother trying to convert them.
Though I did play MM for my sister once, and she came back with something like "How can you listen to this when you don't even understand what they're saying?" So I pointed out that she listens to Mars Volta and that's the last time the subject ever came up.

My family don't care but they have no idea I like Berryz or C-ute. They'll probably never know because they'd just think I was some sort of sicko.

Well I got my brother into anime and he in turn got me to listen to anime music and game soundtracks. I have played alot of H!P stuff for him but I don't think he is really into it. I was riding with him the other day and he had the Dragon Quest 6 soundtrack in his stereo. :) But I bring my H!P CDs with me and he doesn't mind when I play them. The only thing our mom and dad know is their sons like japanese stuffs XD

My sister is just as into H!P as I am. My brother knows of the songs because we play them so much, and he likes Yaguchi from Ayaka's surprise english lessons, but thats about it for him.
My mom knows that me and my sister like Japanese music and do the dances, and that's it for her. And my dad knows a few Berryz songs and Daite! Hold on Me, but not the words. He just hums the melodies, mainly because we play the songs so much. And yeah.

none of my family members care about my interest. When the H!P 2006 Sports Fest. Special Box for Fansclub was out I even told my sister to look for it in Hong Kong... which end up she didn't buy it because I can download it online.
Anyway ya... they don't really know or care about the fact I like young idols.

Whenever i watch H!M or other H!P videos, my mom would go like "why are you always watching the same thing?!" Apparently to her all Japanese girls look alike.
Luckily she only visits me a few times a year if not i'd be nagged by her all day long! oh she also mentioned never to get a Japanese bride or she'd sever all ties with me :lol:

well, my other sister's into the anime shits... but she doesnt like the stuff that i listen to (she's mostly into anime themes and such)
my dad is passive i guess, but he often asks "who's that?" when i have an idol as my wallpaper... he mistook PB's for porno mags once.. lol
though he does join in when i watch some japanese movies... even things like Ichi the Killer lol.
my tastes are so varied, that they can't really guess what my fandom's are lol.

My sister loves H!P. She came with me to the Otome Gokoro concert last week. Mum... doesn't have much choice in the matter, haha. Doesn't actually like them, but she does like Maasa (who she thinks should become a professional wrestler in the future).

My parents don't really give a shit in my interests >_> Or atleast try not to act like it, but they make some comments about my liking of things japanese sometimes. They really know nothing about it but that it's japanese.
My brother listens to some H!P and knows a few members (He's about the age of the older Kids). He also sometimes watches stuff with me but that's pretty much the extent of it. He thinks they're hot but he doesn't really bother to try to learn much about them. And I'm not really one to say anything unless they ask about it.
My sister likes the occassional H!P song but that's pretty much it. She uses Sexy Boy as one of her ringtones though :lol: She also sometimes comments on how pretty some of them are. Her initial reaction to seeing my first Momusu wallpaper was hilarious though. :lol:

Hmm, most of my (immediate) family knows I'm into H!P and Japanese music and such, but most of them don't really get it. XD
I'll occasionally show my mom some funny clips of MM, and she's amused by them. She doesn't quite find them all as cute and funny as I do, but she'll laugh along. And she gets stuck listening to a lot of H!P music whenever she's in the car with me sometimes, so she tolerates it fine enough. I think she's a little bit of a Miki fan-- based just on those little things I've shown to her. XD
I haven't shown my dad as much H!P stuff, but he's funny because ever since he listened to 'Pittari Shitai X'mas' around Christmas, he's been walking around the house and still humming the tune to it.
My brother and sister know I like Japanese music, and that's about it. When I got their Fuyu Fuyu Mini album for Christmas, my sister took the lyrics insert thing and just... looked at the kanji in fascination, pretty much. :D

well... my parents know im really into anything thats japanese, but doesn't know much H!P until one day... i was talking to my dad about the photobooks i've been buying and said that its of a group with members graduating all the time, then him saying "oh, morning musume (in chinese) right?" needless to say i was speechless. i don't think hes a fan thou <.< >.>

My father likes some of MoMusu's old stuff. I was playing a mini-disc in my car (Yes, I have a mini-disc deck in my car. zOMG. x_X) with the 31 singles at the time.. He was actually trying to sing along with it. Which was scary in a way, because we don't speak any other language except English. lol. But yeah. My mother doesn't care much for it. :P
I'm the only child in my family; but a little one is on it's way! (On my father's side; My parents are seperated but not like you needed to know that. :3) But once the baby is born, I'll be playing loads of hello!pro goodness in the nursury when I visit. ^_^ hehehe... I'll turn he or she in a hello!pro fan before they know what hit him / her. XD

My dad ignores it (as he does me >__>) and Mum usually tolerates it. They think it's a phase I'll grow out of, and they think I waste too much money on it (which I do, but I wouldn't call it a 'waste'). Guess what all my new years, Christmas, and birthday money went towards? 3 shirts, 9 photocards, and 2 wristbands. Win.

My little 5 years old sister loves it. We even watch haromoni together before I take her to school. :)
- She likes Mini Moni, Morning Musume, W, Biyuuden, Tanpopo and Berryz Koubou .
- Her favorite song is "Strawberry Pie / Mini Moni".
- Her favorite members are Rika, Kaori, Yaguchi, Nono and Kago (also the first H!P names she learnt).
- She is always asking me to watch the Hawaii Battle Special. It´s her favorite video. She also likes World Children Game.
The rest of my family is just like: Are you watching thoose japanese girls again? They simply don´t care about it XD

My family doesn't really know how deep I am with H!P. They just think I like the music. And they all know my taste in music is kinda weird (lol noise), so they just write it off as another one of my quirks.

My brother actually introduced me to H!P, but even back then, he didn't care about their music or their names. He just liked watching them doing funny, silly stuff on HM. Now, he lost interest.
My mother knows I'm a fan but probably doesn't think I'm this obsessed. :p She watches HM with me on tv sometimes. She'd be like "Oh this show again? Can't we watch something else?" but she'd watch it anyway. She showed the most interest when I was watching Rika's grad DVD. She took the box, read the girls' names and tried to match them to the girls on screen. :lol: She doesn't know any names, only some faces, I think. Mostly older gens. The last time I was watching Wonderful Hearts and she saw Berryz and C-ute and said they were so young (she thought they were in MM, too).

my brother takes a mild interest, because he watched "ayaka no totsugeki eikaiwa!" with me and he fell in love with kago and nono when i was watching winter wonderful hearts (i didn't want to break his heart and say kago was suspended). as i'm practically always playing H!P music, he knows some of the songs pretty well and even the words to some of them :) my best friend (who is practically family) even listens to berryz in her car now. haha :D

Generally, my parents just accept my interest in Japanese Pop, they don't really question it or anything. They don't really know about H!P though, they just kind of categorize as it as any other Jpop xD
My mom is the most supportive though, she pays for my H!P stuff sometimes when I'm running low on cash. Although I still get a roll of the eyes when I start squee'ing about new stuff, haha.

Hehe. After reading most comments here, I guess I'm lucky? Kinda.
My mom is a fan, she knows every member's names and likes almost all songs, but prefers the ballads, like Mushoku. Her favorites: Kei Yasuda, Michishige Sayumi, Yoshizawa Hitomi (just because I'm a bitch and made her like her, rofl) and Iida Kaori (but not exactly in that order ~). Plus, she finds some of them to be hot, too. Yeehaw!
My sister has Sayu as her favorite one and loves W, and also likes almost all songs.
My dad dislikes it because it was H!P that made me lose interest in L'Arc~en~Ciel, which he loves to death after I showed him some songs.

My family doesn't know much about H!P, even though sometimes i showed them with it (actually i showed my mom some Haromoni episodes and she got excited sometimes)..she doesn't care, though.
Actually, i did show some of my H!P stuff to my little sister, and she enjoys them. Her comment is just like: "You watch too much of those cute girls." :)

Two of my sisters are jpop and H!P fans just like meXD My youngest sister knows that we love this kind of music and sometimes it gets on her nervers XD Especially when we talk about Yossi all the time:ONxD:
My elderst sister, brother and my mom know that I listen to Japanish music but they don't know Hello!Project... Sometimes my mom asks why we watch shows and listen to music that we don't unterstand.

People in my family know about my love of Japanese things. Anime helped them learn that, and they still think I'm into in which they're wrong. So my family knows I like Japanese stuff, and know somewhat about H!P.
My sister knows more than my parents, but not much more. She thinks my interests are odd with all my posters and figures and pictures of young Japanese girls around my room, and considers my (now-ex Prime Minister) Junichiro Koizumi photobook the most normal thing I own. Probably because it isn't filled with young Japanese girls and he's a man. I personally consider it one of the oddest things I own (because it exists), but then again that's just me.
Anyway, I've made my mother listen to some stuff but seeing as she doesn't like loud things I don't force too much on her, cuz that's what I like. She's heard stuff being played from my room before, and she was submitted to Rainbow 7 album and mp3s of Kaori's solo stuff. She likes Kaori's solo stuff.
My grandma was submitted to having me talk about H!P and Jpop so she actually knows a bit more than anyone. She wants to hear 'the stuff she bought me for Xmas/B-day', so oneday I'll have her listen to some of the CDs. She also thought W were cute (after I showed her the Miss Love Tantei when it came out).
I have no idea what my dad knows about it, but I don't care. He once saw my desktop with Rika in a bikini and I don't know what he thought of that. I'm kind of amused of all things that's what he saw.
They know I own tons of crap, and I know at least my parents aren't thrilled with it, but it keeps me fairly happy so they don't say much anymore. I did use my Niigaki from Mr. Moonlight celphone strap set and Ayaya one as pieces in various games (like Monopoly) so they get to learn all sorts of things.

My mum likes MKB and Takahashi's voice, and she misses her old accent, now her favourite is Miki. My dad ignores me most of the time when I'm talking about H!P, but he likes MM first gen members :D My brother likes Hitomi O____O but he's more fan of Ai Otsuka than H!P. My lil sister LOVES W, especially Aibon, and she also likes Minimoni XD. My cousins have found them 'interesting' but only in past years, now they just don't care about. And I better not start talking about the rest of my family, because I explained to all of them the whole H!P thing, and converted a few XD

Well I've watched concerts with my Mum in the room before, when watching selection collection with me she said that lots of them look very young and I briefly explained the H!P kids. Then i said about how there are older people like Yuko who was about 32 in that concert I think(i pointed her out in the making of. She was surprised lol. She also saw some of WHL and didn't get why they made a big spectacle of saying goodbye to konno and makoto. err...usually they're ok with me playing but my Mum often finds the music annoyingly energetic(I can't remember her words but it was kinda like constant bouncing XD)
They don't seem to mind what I buy and I'd been an anime fan for a long time before so I guess it's just a change from that to them.
My brothers would make fun of it easily(they're quite a bit older than me) but that doesn't bother me. I don't particularly force it on them(not that I could with them not living here anymore) but they do know I listen to jpop music

My mom likes momusu. She LOVES the Sakura Mankai and Go Girl! PVs. Her favorites are Marippe and Nono, she says that they're the most good-looking xD

I'm an old ex-punk married to an old ex-goth chick. She mostly gets annoyed with my music because it's too fucking happy for her. It's always fun playing super cheerful music when she's in my car just to make her squirm. She accuses me of being a closet pedophile sometimes, but in a good-natured, joking way. She can't really criticize me listening to music that I don't understand all the lyrics of, since her fave band is Cocteau Twins, who most of the time sing in a completely made-up language.
My guy friends (as close as family) like to rag on me about my Momusu obsession, but they never complain when I show them hawt PVs. Sometimes I'll show them something really sexy just so I can make them feel dirty by revealing the girls' ages afterward.

My fiance kind of rolls his eyes and shakes his head when I start going on about the latest H!P news, like "OMG Yossi's graduating!" and he'll just tell me he's not really up on the latest news, and where the hell did Nacchi go. He also does the embarrassed head shake when I go on about Kirarin Revolution or something.
I do have to cover up some of my bikini wallpapers......sometimes he stares a little bit too long.

My sister loves jpop. She likes Aya & Gackt & MM & Koda & alot of stuff. I'm even teaching her japanese( what I have learned so far) My mom knows I like it but when ever I try to tell her she just starts year out fake chinese( to piss me off maybe) then laughs & the rest of my family can give less of half of a damn what i do or like.

I showed my mother Melodies PV and she told me like "omg, that's pornography, you know" in a joke tone. But she supports and respects the fact that I like all these cute little girls dancing and singing. I feel glad because of that but she never says anything about it or make comments, she just watches me. As for the rest of my family, they know I like Jpop, and they leave me alone. They don't care.

My eldest brother, Travis, is a musician and he isn't really into jpop. He likes Ayaya's From That Sky and Heike's Daikirai, though.
My second eldest brother, Jon, is fun to tease when it comes to the girls' ages. I got him to listen to Maimai's Yeah Meccha Holiday HPH perf, and when I told him she was only 10 he was like "WHAT"
My second youngest brother, Leslie, used to be into H!P but he isn't so much anymore. He used to like Minimoni, but kinda grew out of it.
My youngest brother, Clinton, rather likes Aichan. Other than that, he's not really into it.
My younger sister, Kristin, doesn't like them but she doesn't hate them either.
Yes, I do have a big family.

My family sometimes teases me about this periodically, but they really don't mind much. they have nothing against it. I always know that i'm into alot of japanese stuff in general, not just jpop.
let me just say this first, it's important in my story. not only am i a big japanophile fan, but most of the east asian entertainment industry(music, movies, films and series) as well, just like hong kong, china, taiwan, korea, and last but not least japan.
i actually grew up watching many chinese films and series with my family. aside from that i started picking up on the japanese entertainment, it begins with anime. ever since i can remember, i been loving, almost obsessing(...almost) over japanese stuff. it started with the anime that they showed on tv here. i saw that it was different from the regular american cartoons, from the art style, character design, storylines and especially the music, that how i started with my jpop interests, same with the video games.
anyway, when watching both the chinese films and series and the japanese anime. i mostly listen to the theme songs at first. after realizing how much i like those, i begins to search to see who sings the song and what other song do they have. it eventually lead me to H!P, starting from my interests in themesongs and its artists to general artist to H!P and that's how i became a fan.
While now i am mostly a J-fan rite now, i still watches chinese films with family and my family is a major chinese fan. and my family kinds of picks on me since i'm almost the only one in the family that is interested in jpop.
almost everyone in my family makes fun of me being a fan of H!P, but they really just teasing and don't really care much. sometimes i annoy them with facts and news about H!P. i always tease my mother and sister of being obsessed with chinese stars, guess this is just payback.
the funniest one is my dad. he saw some of the girls photos and pvs and he says their cute. and always tell me to go to japan and marry one of them. sometimes pointing to the girls and saying "she probably make a good daughter-in-law..." and such.
Since i'm a huge j-fan, my family always tell me to go to japan and find a prety japanese girls. and that what i mainly love is the girls and nothing else. Although they are cute, i told them that i'm just a j-fan in general, from the entertainment industry to the technology and the beautiful culture of japan. Everyone knows that Japan is the motherland of anime and manga, with super high-tech goods with the wonderful car culture and the beautiful history and culture. the girls are just one of my many j-interests.
although these are all true in my opinions, i sometimes think that it is just my excuse i use on my family, sometimes i'm in denial. kind of embarassing to tell them that i like just the girls, even when i know it's not true. but nowadays i don't care much anymore, guess i'm more confident of myself and don't what others think of me.
guess that's it for now...sorry if i'm babbling on and on and on....and on.

My dad's girlfriend is proud of me for going against the grain, and my mom supports me about it, but she herself doesn't like it that much (there is some she likes, some Melon)
My younger cousins don't like it as much, but my older cousins are alright with it.
And me, I don't care about the hate with it. I just come up with plenty of snappy comebacks to back myself.

My wife likes MM's music alright, except when they sing "like kids". A little too high pitched for her tastes.
She does like a smattering of songs but really dug Berryz Koubou's Piriri to Yukou! and Biyuden's Kacchoiize Japan!. She'll try to sing along to those. ;D

Both of my parents love Ayaya's voice. Because I keep forcing them to listen to Ayaya's songs whenever we're in our car lol (usually my dad hates Asian music, including my country's music). But my mom is fan of Ayaya & Mini Moni! She keep saying Ayaya is really cute and Mini Moni is really funny.
My sis loves Gocchin! and we love to watch utaban/hey3x/mbhtv or other funny variety shows together. She likes to humming "watarasebashi" whenever I'm listening to the song.

For some reason, my brother (who's nine) likes Memory ~Seishun no Hikari~. Wtf, mate?
I know that Memory is an awesome song, but I didn't think that he'd like it XD.
Oh and my mom also likes oldschool Momusu which makes her awesome :D

I used to have 4 little converted MM fans awhile back. They were my nieces and nephews. They lost interest when MM's songs and videos were starting to target just the Wotas. :-[

As I'm at university my family don't really get exposed to it, but it's not great response from what they have heard. My eldest brother doesn't seem to mind them as he doesn't rip into them like he does most other bands he doesn't like, except the odd song, I think he holds a grudge against Tanpopo for some reason...My other brother (still older than me) hasn't heard them at all but I don't think he'd like 'em very much at all.
My dad hates them, plain as...really not his thing. My mum seems to be able to put up with 'em and even hums along sometimes but she's said they start to annoy her after a bit, which I can understand, I don't agree, but I understand. She hates Minimoni though...I found it quite funny though that both my mum and dad love Rock 'n' Roll Kenchoushozaichi.
Oh yeah, and my mum thought Okamuland was hilarious.

They know about them, but i'm really careful with the Photobooks, GAM & Biyuuden PVs because we all know how pornographic are they (joke XD). When i was wathcing the 10th Anniversay and Otome Gokoro i was scared when Goto and Biyuuden were going to appear XD
Ummm...when Thanks! was out i saw it about 5 times, one of those times my dad told me "They look like whores" and i said "Have you ever seen one?" XD I don't see bikini shots when my mom is close to me or soemthing...but hell yeah, they know about them and my sister hates everything related to idols XD

My family doesn't really know about H!P. My mom saw a picture of Maimi and thought she was pretty and she also saw a picture of Eri and thought she was 30-years-old. That's pretty much it. =P

My mom doesn't mind it at all. She likes it alot more than my other music tastes. My dad doesn't seem to mind either. He did onetime say though "it's torture to constantly watch someone you can't have". But that's the only time he's ever said anything negative. He was right to an extent anyway.
My nephews think Japanese music is weird. They only listen to American pop and rap. They don't like foreign music.

In short, no one in my family cares. But then again, I only live with two family members (mom and grandma). Of course I don't go around watching the SOME BOYS! TOUCH PV or stuff like Yubi when my mom is around <_<. She just kind of knows the name "Morning Musume" because I have to borrow her credit card to buy their stuff online. Just a couple of days ago, she just went "oh, Morning Musume was on the radio", but that's pretty much it.

My mom is hilarious. My mom knows all my interest and doesn't mind them but at one point in my life when I told her I had a small crush on this female Chinese singer, whenever the girl would appear on television, she would scream at me like there was no tomorrow about it. Sometimes I think my mom is more into my interests then I am. Thankfully I don't get Japanese television, otherwise I would never hear the end of it considering how often someone from H!P is on television. Makes me sad that I missed mother day two weekends ago.
As for my brother, I think I pissed off his girlfriend when I showed him the "sexy boy" mv. I said the girls in it were cute as fuck and his girlfriend gave this pained look when he got excited about it. I guess I shouldn't have laughed at her.

They don't really know about H!P. My sister knows I get and have all this Asian stuff, but that's it... They're kinda used to my 'strange' tastes.

The only person in my family who knows anything about H!P is my Nephew. I showed him a lot of video clips and dragged him in the H!P shop twice when I took him to Japan. He's now in love with Airi and Tsuji and whenever he comes over to my house I have to show him new videos or put a concert DVD on. He's the only one who knows of my photo collection though. When were singing H!P songs (badly) or reminiscing about clips we've watched my sister is always like WTF! XD
Everyone else in my family knows that I listen to Jpop but not which groups etc. My dad had to listen to Koharu's album really loud before whilst myself, him and my nephew played bowling on my Wii. He didn't seem to mind too much and was trying to figure out why he recognised Balalaika! I recently put my Morning Musume calander on my wall and was expecting to get some sort of comment about it like - why do you have a calander of just girls on your wall - but my mum saw it and said "Oh, look. What pretty girls". This actually really surprised me.
No one knows about my PB's though, and they never will!!!

My family knows, my Mom and Sis watch the concert-DVDs, but thats all. My Sis listens more to metal-bands like Nightwish or Rammstein(shesELEVEN, I don't relly get, why she likes music like Rammstein) - She has now all my album-cd's, I only was "allowed" to copy them for me :lol:
From friends comes mostly stupid jokes. But they mostly listen to techno or hiphop. "Who's in the glasshouse, shouldn't throw stones!" :angry:

my family don't really care about h!p. They heard the songs since I opened youtube or something but they don't seem to be into jpop music. Most of the time though I sing h!p songs and they hear me instead. I keep my parent up-to-date about h!p even though they don't care I make them listen to me talk about it anyways. hehe! :D

i only recently try to introduce H!P to my family, after reading about other fans trying to experiment on their family and friends.
I wouldn't exactly said i did alot. almost like next to nothing. first thing is i try, or make them do the MoMusu Rankings on americanwota.com. All it did for them is to see which one they think is the prettiest, but i gotta say that it doesn't exactly have their best pictures to show their beauty.
it's not much and i'm sad to say that i failed. but i'm not quitting.
i actually did this on 3 of my sis, one of her friend and my aunt. also, everyday i tell them and try to talk to them about H!P, like how i felt about the members and what's going on and why i'm excited or sad. Recently, whatever they been watching on tv, i always think of something H!P-related to talk about. But whenever i do, they don't care and feel that i'm annoying, which i am. Funny thing is with my parents, once i was watching a OPV of my fav members and they saw it, i told them that she's my fav and show them the vids as well as pics, and said that it's their "future daughter-in-law" *haha*. They stared at her for a long time. but didn't say much. They always teases me about my fascination to Japan and about how i'm gonna marry a japanese someday.

My mother, father and brother all pretty much say the same thing:
Why do you watch those school girls? and when watching the concerts, they even refer to Nakazawa as a school girl, >.>, so, I just listen to the CDs, they pretty much just ignore now.

My parents are okay about me liking H!P. Most of the time for my birthday or something like that, my dad somehow knows which CD I want to get, and he gets it off of YesAsia, and then surprises me with it. :D He actually has the instrumental of Kanashimi Twilight on his Blackberry! Well, he uploaded it. :P
My mom really likes the fact that Niigaki is learning Korean. I showed her the Opappi~! clip nd she said that she has good Korean, and she's cute. <3
My friends' opinions: I'm the wierd J-pop girl that's obsessed with Niigaki Risa. XD I did get two of my friends into listening/dancing to it... :muffin:

My parents hardly ever comment on the stuff I watch/listen to. LOL
My mom has commented on their concert outfits a few times, she really likes them :lol: The glittery big dresses and stuff. Those times I think that yeah, it's actually pretty cool that H!P girls have these unique "crazy" concert outfits instead of just wearing jeans or sth. Even if some outfits are a bit... too much out there :D And I thought it was so cute when my mom once sort of sadly said about some H!P girl that "they don't sell clothes like that here". Aww mom <3

Everyone thinks I'm weird. They say "How can you like music if you don't know what they are saying?". I one time played a few songs in the car with my mom, the only ones I can remember are Genki+, Gaki Taishou, Very Beauty & Tokaikko Junjou. She didn't like any of them (I think) & she was laughing at & imitating Momoko's voice, lol. I also write down the kanji for everyone's name (...just in case I get bored & want to doodle XD) & everyone is like "omg you can write in Chinese! You're weird." I have a few pictures of them in my room & my mom said they are pretty, but that's it.
So no one really cares. I have gotten like 3 people to like H!P though (internet friends, though haha). I wish I knew someone in real life that liked it though :cry:

Haha, I got my mom in H!P, actually. She especially likes watching Momusu on Utaban.
Also got my little brother into Jpop. He likes Otsuka Ai best, but he absolutely loves singing along to "Minihamuzu Ai no Uta." He thinks Mika's one of the greatest things since sliced bread.
My dad occasionally asks if I still like "that Japanese music" and I say yes and then he shuts up.

I got my older sister to watch a perf clip of MoMusu's Iroppoi Jirettai on Utaban. she commented that they must be pretty good dancer in order to dance in high heels like that. She also likes Takahashi Ai the most since she said she looked beautiful.

I'm not sure what my parents think about it. I ocasionally get some H!P related stuff in the mail, but they don't seem to have an opinion of it. I never play h!p music loud when someone's at home. I'm gradually losing interest in h!p anyway, so it's not a big deal.
My parents do know about my Ai Otsuka fandom. Big poster on my wall here and everytime something Ai related comes in the mail, my dad goes 'ow.. that girl again'.. that's it :lol:

My wife hates H!P. She likes Tami Okuda and Puffy Ami Yumi. I like them also. My daughter likfe Mari Yaguchi and Mini Moni are her favorites.

I know this is family but I tried to get one of my friends in to H!P but he didn't like the Morning Curry concert. I'm gonna start working on somebody else who is a huge music fan, and is willing to listen to lots of different stuff. I showed him the Special Generation PV and he liked it so I've bought him the new Risako PB in the hope to convert him :lol:

I just let my aunt, which is just a couple of years older than me, borrow the The Morning Musume: All Singles Complete Zen 35 Kyoku ~10th Anniversary~ DVD. She like to give things a chance before actually judging them w/o having an encounter. I don't know if she'll like it or not, but at least she's willing to give them a chance.

I've been into japanese anime/games/music/tv/girls/guys/dorama/movies/food/history/technology/life since i was a kid. And following JPOP stuff since Noriko Sakai, so it isn't exactly a suprise with my family that I'm a crazy JPOP fan.
Basically my mum just tells me not to spend so much money on stuff (wise). And we basically each do our own stuff.
Well, except for each year's red/white show. She still has that chinese/japanese hatred thing going on, but she still supports good singing! :) ...and so I have the 'marry a japanese girl and cut family relations thing' going on too. :lol:
My sisters are way too into western culture, and I've given up in breaking such solid fortifications.
Been raining my cousin with JPOP/H!P clips/music for years, since he's near my age. Don't think he can get through a whole concert vid without chucking a fit though. :banghead:
But he can recognize Suzuki Airi from 2 seconds of starting any Cute clip. Which makes me filled with pride, yet also freaks me out. :roll:
(I do my best to remind him that she's still 13, and weird guys like him would get arrested just for getting anywhere near her :yep:)

then come j-pop and morning musume and H!P
so they think it's naturally for me to love anything and anyone japanese.

I've kinda kept it to myself ^^; I tried introducing it to a friend who's into other Japanese things through watching some subtitled UTABAN's with her, but I was loling at different things and she didn't seem too interested... It's pretty much just me. I don't think my parents would have any beef with it, though. They basically just let me do whatever~

She doesn't mind when I ramble on about H!P she is to me being obsessed with something & she likes seeing me excited about stuff... She is pretty much in awe of Miki's beauty and thinks Ai is incredibly "alluring"... She loves Tsuji & Kago as well, especially when they were little and such devils... I make her watch (make her, that's right ;)) most concerts, utabans, random clips, music fighter, H!M and hell she was even watching YoMiki OPVs the other day she really enjoys watching all of them though, she has watched stuff for like 6 hours straight once. She isn't good at remembering their names (only Yossy, Ai, Kago and Tsuji) but she can distinguish between them all with her own nicknames for them. (although i don't plan to show her most of my photo collection)
Mum tries to get my sister and other family members into them but no one cares :lol: My cousin thinks I'm weird & my niece says she doesn't like any Japanese music but she hasn't heard H!P and I didn't make her listen, but i will one day.
A couple of my friends really like GAM and ask me to make some cds for them.... they also like looking through the PBs which really surprises me for one of them!
I showed another friend Maki's SOME BOYS TOUCH! performance from the H!P concert last year and she said "doesn't she realise they are just exploiting her as a sex image" (coming from someone who loves Britney and Paris XD)

My family know that I like japanese girls a lot. My mother knows that I like Berryz Koubou and that's all - I once watched Berryz Koubou Event V of Jingisukan in front of my dad(he was looking into his monitor, and I got to watch it on tv) he some times raised his eyes to the TV and was like "Hm..." and that's all ^_^ and I don't try to convert them in any way - all people like different things and we just somehow stick to this and don't try to interrupt each others likes ^.^

I've been immeresed in dubbed japanese culture since time in memorial... anime, super sentai, video games (that my parents introduced to me and my sister), and jpop... so they're kinda used to hearing me sing to japanese songs around the house...
i got my sister to listen to Morning Musume but she got tired of it quickly... plus, when she heard about Yossui-pairings, H!P became a no-no to her...

I watched a 2005 Morning Musume concert with my mother today and she was (once again) swooning over Yossy... She said "I'm sure you'd be able to find a hot Japanese guy who looks just like her" XD
Then we watched WonderBang stuff and she demanded I put Kat-tun vids on :lol: She was drooling (literally) over Junno and I asked "If Yossy and Junno were falling off a cliff and you could only save one, who would it be?" her response was "I'd find a way to save them both and then they'd have to be really grateful "... She then realised what she implied about Yossy and went :o, changing it to "he'd be really grateful" :lol: XD
All I hear now is how much she misses Yossy and Miki (or 'that girl that's friends with Yossy with the best body out of them all' as she calls her) in the group and how she melts when Yossy sings Mr Moonlight :roll:

I tried to show her some of my H!P wallpapers and stuff that I make and she looked at me wide-eyed, asking "Why do you have so many pictures of half-naked asian girls?" Haha. And ever since, whenever there's a cute asian girl around or on TV, my Mom points her out and is like "You like her, don't you? You like cute asian girls!" Haha. I think she's proud.

Wow! It's great that u guys can open up about your H!P fandom to your parents. I, on the other hand is hesistant about that....
Although I did show them pics or Yossy before and they don't have much comment about that, but that me to blame since I've only showed them some Yossy goodness so I can't expect them to grasp the awesomeness of Yossy.
My sisters, on the other hand, seen my pb of Kamei Eri since I've shown them from time to time. so they're more accustomed to Eri. I did get some pretty good comments on her looks, but since I've never shown them videos of Eri in action, they, too won't know the greatness of the Turtle. I mean, I'd tried but they're not interested right now other than their male idols. They always use the excuse "I'm not interested in girls, sorry" but I tell them the love for H!P is universal.
But even though, my family thinks my love for H!P girls and Japanese in general (culture, tech, anime/manga, cars, history,etc.), transcends to all Japanese girls, so whenever a japanese girls pops up on TV, movies or anywhere they would tease me about it.
