Title: Partygoer blinded in one eye after wearing novelty contacts
Post by: Foxy Brown on January 22, 2007, 03:33:00 AM
Eye specialists are calling for greater restrictions on the sale of novelty contact lenses after they destroyed a man's cornea - the first case of its kind in this country. (http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/1/story.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10420239)

He borrowed them from a friend and then wore them non-stop for 3 days!

Serves him right for getting an infection.

My eyes feel like total crap if I get drunk and fall asleep without removing my contacts.

And that's not all.

Two emergency corneal transplants were done as "hot grafts" (transplanting in the presence of inflammation and infection), but the man had failed to follow instructions to minimise the risk of rejection.

Restrictions on that people need a certain amount of brain cells to buy contacts, more like it...

Even if I forget to remove my contacts after just 24 hours, they already feel all dry and painful.

Roffle, what an idiot.

I wear colored contacts occasionally, but at least I take care of them. Roffle.
