Title: Do you memorize the lyrics?

Post by: nachdenki on February 01, 2007, 08:48:59 PM: I've voted for "Just some parts of some songs" because I usually only memorize some words, parts, like the refrain. One exception is Berryz's Jiriri Kiteru of which I can sing along almost the whole text because I tried to karaoke it once :D

I'd love to memorize them all XD but I'm a lazy butt and so on~
I usually don't sing along because I'm afraid other people may hear it anyway

I can sing fine with vocals in songs, but there are very few I can do with karaoke alone. Mostly MM, BK, and random groups that I have the lyrics down for.

Post by: arun.yothin on February 01, 2007, 09:18:20 PM: I only remember the lyrics from hearing the songs so much. Sometimes, I think I hear different lyrics each time I hear the same line, so I'll try to find out what it is they're saying. I've never tried to learn a whole song though.

I am the exact same way! XD LOL I don'r actually do anything to memorize the lyrics~ It just kind of happens after having my H!P playlist on repeat constantly :P LOL

Post by: RatBastich on February 01, 2007, 10:15:16 PM: I usually tend to pick on the song lyrics after a few listens, especially if its a song I listen to a lot.

Other songs can tend to be parts, but after some listens I'll get the lyrics.

On the other hand, if its a song that I haven't heard in quite a while, I'll usually end up forgetting it......but after listening, I get to remember it, sometimes completely, sometimes only in parts.

Here's the weird part of it, for me that is, I can pick on songs in other languages, yet I absolutely bottom out in my attempts to learn other languages, mainly because of poor focus.

Post by: Shoko on February 01, 2007, 10:37:37 PM: I know some parts of a few songs that I seemed to have learnt subconciously XD Like Mr Moonlight, Uwaki na Honey Pie, Love Machine (I've caught myself singing it to haha XD), First Kiss, Iku ZYX, Egao YES Nude, Special Generation, MunaScarlet, Wakkanai Z, Massara Blue Jeans (the LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME part) and others.

Oh, and when I sing along, I kinda seem to subconciously know what's gonna be sung next XD Though I sometimes mess up on "na/no/wa/wo/ect"

But seriously... I am tethered to the lyrics on the screen at karaoke (yes, I can read the kanji). I don't sing H!P unless:

1) I am extremely motivated to make an ass out of myself,
2) I am extremely under the influence of good booze,
3) All of the above.

I look for the lyrics only when I forget certain parts or aren't sure what's being said.

Lately, I find myself singing to Egao Yes Nude (well. just the part when they say "Egao Yes Nude" lol xD).

Additionally, this is the only song who's PV I've watched so many times that I've memorized like 70% of the dance steps too. :MKgroovin:
