Title: Motion-sensitive spacesuits could generate power
Post by: Foxy Brown on February 16, 2007, 08:24:09 AM
Astronauts' spacesuits may one day be covered in motion-sensitive proteins that could generate power from the astronauts' movement, according to futuristic research being conducted by a new lab in Cambridge, Massachusetts, US. Such "power skins" could also be used to coat future human bases on Mars, where they could produce energy from the Martian wind. Coool!

Hopefully no Astronauts will misuse it to try and kidnap and murder other Astronauts.

And I thought is was already exhausting enough to do a spacewalk, now they have to generate there own energy also??

Although it sounds more like they have to only 'bounce around', so its not on there joints :)

sounds interesting. could be of good use to people even on earth as an alternative to using non-reusable resources for energy
