The video game of our dreams is finally here!

Why have I not heard of this game until today?
What more can you ask for from a game?
The characters even have striking similarities to some already familiar idols we all love and adore
I must have this game! Are there region blocks on the 360. I've been wondering if I should finally get one, and I might finally have the reason too. :P
-
haha - why indeed.
there's a comprehensive, and very funny (and just slightly disturbing) review of the arcade game version here (http://blog.wired.com/games/2007/01/the_idolmster_m.html), written by the mighty Dom Nguyen of Megatokyo (http://www.megatokyo.com/) fame.

looks fantasic...
shame it will never get a english translated release
-
I've known about the game for a while now, but due to the near 100% chance that it'll never get a localization, I've tried to keep from looking too much into it. I've avoided info on the game like the plague, knowing that I'll more than likely never get to play the Japanese version, let alone a translated version.

"The option to apply a regional lockout to games is available to publishers, although DVD region codes are always enforced." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_360#Storage)
Oshi~? someone import it & test, quickly
-
and because we all need it: a five minute promo (http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/08/todays-iest-video-the-idolmaster/) of the game, courtesy of joystiq.
FWIW, i'm sure i've read that this will get an english localisation, altho a quick google throws up no supporting evidence.
-
I don't see how it could get localized for the US. They'd have to give the game a complete makeover for most people to even think of getting it.
Holy Shit!! GAM?

-
Arcade game's been out for a couple years but it was only release for the 360 last month >_> And I don't really follow arcade games...
-
Booooooo!
The game is region locked. :ONgyaaah:

There is still a very slight chance that they didnt test it and just assumed that its locked, that however doesnt help my poor Japanese skills.

It's DA Ultimate Tsunku simulator !!!! :D
I almost bought a japanese 360 just to be able to play that freakin' game...
But, with my lack of japanese reading and speaking skills, it'll be just a waste of money...
Just clickin' around randomly won't get you very far into the game. :(

Sorry to bump this - But I was browsing YT's japanese section and lo and behold.. Today's most watched video for japanese games is none other than "THE IDOLM@STER!"..
This game is unbelievably cute.. I want it. ;__;

i mean what's the objective of the game?
Manipulate the idols?

i mean what's the objective of the game?
Manipulate the idols?
The objective is to sell as many records as possible.
To achieve that, you must train the girls, give them dancing & singing lessons, make sure they are in a good state of mind before performances and TV shows, choose a song that will suit her image, ect...
-
This is awesome... too bad the game is in Japanese... it will be hard for me to understand certain story/instruction/game play.
But this is SO CUTE ~ ~ ~ There is this idol creating game too in Hong Kong but it cannot be compare... this Xbox360 one is MUCH BETTER!
XD
NOW I WANT TO GET AN XBOX360
-
Are the songs in the game from real artists(like Utada Hikaru, Berryz Koubou), or are they just made for the game by random singers
-
The songs were made for the game and sung by the people who made the character voices
-
(bump) Yay. 300th post~
Q: When do you know you're an otaku?
A: When you're getting frustrated which dress to buy for your virtual idol this weekend. haha~ :w00t:

Although this thread is made for Idol Master, but since I have a XBOX360 and there's no thread for XBOX360 questions, I'll post it here.
I'm thinking of getting a new game, but need some suggestions.
So far the games I have are
Halo 3
Fonza
Marvel
Two World
Stunt Ignition
Rock Band
The genre of the game is not a problem, but I want to get a game that is good and fun to play (i.e. after getting it I feel it's worth it for what I pay for).
-
My 2 cents, I got scared of all the shooters coming out, it's like 360 gamers are training for an inevitable war or something. So I try my best to stay away from them. :(
One I think I'll get when it comes out is Tom Clancy's Endwar. The voice command gimmick sure is interesting. But I'll wait for a review before jumping in. 8)
My stuff:
Forza
Viva Pinata
Mass Effect
Halo 3
Winning Eleven 08
Devil May Cry 4
Idolmaster L4U
-
The games I have are:
Call of Duty 4
Fifa 08
Eternal Sonata
Oblivion
Bioshock
Virtua Fighter 5
Assassins Creed
Project Gotham Racing 4
