its ok, the only fish that im afraid of are the man eating catfish O_o
-
ur aquarium so nice...i once have aquarium...but suddenly the fish die one by one...so never want to participate in this hobby anymore
-
I've been thinking about getting myself an aquarium. Since I don't plan on living here for another decade, it'll be sad to leave a doggie or a kitty behind again :(
fish are easy to take care of and add a nice decor to the house :)

Nice aquarium Evil Ace. Its so relaxing watching a nice tank and all the goings on.
I actually work with fish. I was always interested in keeping them, and now I work with and study them. The fish in the hatchery also get to listen to H!P music, as I play mp3's when I am in there:D
That tank would look great with a couple of nice coloured Oscars. You get some great behaviour with them, fighting and displaying and even laying eggs.

In Thailand (and the southern US), you should be afraid of the catfish eating man! XD
-
This catfish could eat a man!

Back when I lived in Miami, I had a huge aquarium that I kept the fish I caught at the local canal in. Had largemouth and peacock bass (which we fed goldfish), oscars (which bullied every fish we put in with it, including the bass twice their size), and some turtles from time to time. I wish could get another one, because I really love fish and fishing. <3
-
Ha ha, oscars bully everything, including all the tank fittings. Best kept as pairs with nothing else.
And I love fishing as well L J, nothing better than spending time down the river/lake, so relaxing.

Ever since I was very little my dad has been keeping salt water tanks, since about 6th months ago he's been working on a reef only tank. Are you hoping to make this tank a reef tank? If not, and you're just hoping to keep fish, invest in some regular nice looking bleeched coral to make it look nice. that gray fish is really huge o.o
-
I tried to get into keeping fish, but eventually gave it up because I'm really not made for such a hands-off kind of pet. The problem the fish had with me was that I was always looking for some way to interact with them physically (tickle a fin here and there, etc.) and they were just not digging it. I had to give them away before I stressed them to death.
I should just stick to cats, dogs or other things I can actually pet.

Two words: Catfish Curry (http://www.recipesource.com/ethnic/asia/thai/01/rec0107.html)!
My favorite dish in all the whole wide world.

huuuh, some fish are easy to take care of, depends which u get, some are hardy and live in any type of water, can be dirty as toilet water, like cat fish, but some need really clean water to live, like discus, you got to give them a 25% water change about every 2-3 days...its a lot of work and time conusming.

im sticking to fresh water fish for awhile, ima start salt water when i do get enough money, coral and fish are pretty expensive, but i got my hook ups on them, just still going to cost a lot. so ima finish my fresh water first, wait awhile, and start salt.
(bty that grew fish is my australian arowana AKA jardini. had him when it was still a juvinile, hes about 8 inchs now. :)

i got fish but i'm not the one who takes care of them... they stink!

we have a fish tank at home...
catfish in thailand...i saw one when we had our long stop over there...and it was...yummeh!~ :ONwahaha:

I'm a dogfish-person, so I don't like boring animals. Like catfish, they're just there, but they really don't do anything.
That's why I don't really like real fish either... Unless they could eat eachother. That'd be great, but maybe little crual in a way. Although Spiderfish eat bugfish, so it's not that special.
-
I have been keeping fish for years at home, but sadly, now only two remain. I somehow prefer cats and dogs. Yes, you don't quite get what you do when you keep a typical pet and many people find them as amusing as looking at a kaleidoscope - you see that something moves around and that's it. :P However, the point at fish is not petting them (anyone tried? even my cat did :D ) but more growing them like flowers. Unlike cats and dogs, (unintelligent) fish behave just like they do in the nature - they still make their own territories, some don't get along with some others, breed only under certain conditions etc, obviously having no idea they are not under the sea.
-
my dad built a pond in the front yard that has koi and goldfish in it...they're always having babies
-
big fish person here. i even got bred bettas once, however it was kind of a failure as the male ...ate all the babies...:ONstoned:
i like fishes as i dont have much time for other animals that require affection like dogs. more or less ppl view fish as eye candy because you aren't able to do much but certain fishes like bettas are quite personable, i even hand feed mines.

No pool, no fish. My house is not large enough
-
since pets aren't allowed in my house, we only have fish. we have two goldfish in a small aquarium, my mom keeps them for luck, and true enough when the fish die something weird usually happens, but when they are alive everything's ok, guess it's some sort of superstitous belief but it is kind of strange when fish die all of a sudden even though you've been taking care of them and they aren't very old yet.
