I just got this thru MSN-Mainichi News
(http://mdn.mainichi-msn.co.jp/national/news/20070322p2a00m0et019000c.html (http://mdn.mainichi-msn.co.jp/national/news/20070322p2a00m0et019000c.html))
Model Jun Natsukawa admits lying about age
Pinup model Jun Natsukawa admitted on her Internet blog Thursday that she was born in September 1980 and is 26 years old, not 23 as she had previously claimed.
In a message on her official blog site, Natsukawa said, "I was born on Sept.19, 1980, and I'm 26." She added, "I previously announced that I was three years younger than I really am. I'm sorry for causing trouble."
Doubts about Natsukawa's age had surfaced in some news reports, but the model told a different story when she appeared on television, saying, "I'm 23. I'm going to turn 24 in September this year."
Giving a reason for understating her age, Natsukawa said, "When I moved to my current agency, I talked with staff members and changed my name with the intention of beginning a new life. I also strongly wanted support from teenagers, so I made out that I was 19.
"I want to make a new start from today as 26-year-old Jun Natsukawa," she added. (Mainichi)

she definitely had a reason for doing such. but I'm grateful for her for being honest. :)

When I first read this thread, I thought it was going to be that she was really underaged, but I don't see so much of a problem if she was older than what she said..
-
s'all good. shes foine
-
dont care with the age...just care about the appearance hahah
-
I don't understan why she lied about her age, 'cause in yhe model's work, I think the age isn't so importan, and the company doesn't must use teenagers for models, where the body is the instrument for work.
But, she has make well being honest :yay:
-
It's all good, but wow I never expected that.
She is still lovely though and is even coOler for cming out :ONshifty: :ONwriggly:
-
You still cool with us jun-chan.

Huh... have you ever heard about a country called "Japan" ???
-
The older the better!
anyway, good luck to her for her new start. :)

Age is freakishly important in the modeling world she's competing in (young folks!)... They always want young, fresh, faces. The minute a model's "over the hill" (think mid 20s range) she becomes an "old hag." A tad bit depressing, huh?
But she's got a lot of guts to reveal her real age! Good for her!
-
I'd still do her :P
-
Doesn't make her any less hotter. Still sexy by my standards.
-
Sigh of relief... I thought she was going to admit that she was younger than she had said she was. It would be a crime to have to delete her <16 bikini shots!
-
weird...
was it necessary to lie about her age?..haha...well watever..it doesn't change who she is really...i guess
-
aw man... now shes older than me :(
-
Maybe she is lying about her age this time and before it was the truth.
You never know. :P

Well, like she mentioned, she wanted to appeal to teenage fans as well (or more) so she lied about her age.
It's not exactly uncommon for celebrities to lie about their ages to make them seem younger, that's what consumers want.
-

hai... I know... In Spain it's almost the same... but it doesn't mind that I agree with this.
1 question: Now, could her age become a problem??
:khello:

Yeah, and that's probably why Ayaya is lying about her age too... Everybody knows she 's at least 4 years older than her official age.
*comments to this statement must go into the gossip thread* :P

Whith her carreer and her curent level of celebrity, no, i don't think it will change anything for her...
-
I think that happens in Europe and America too, the only difference is that no one there will admit that - even if everyone knows, such rumors remain at the level of rumors.
So, that is my question. Why did she admit? Does the older age bring her any advantage? I mean, she could easily pass for a 23 year old, while Ayaya (claiming 20 years) looks even older than her... Finally, another dumb question, can such admissions in any way affect the celebrity industry, as people will increasingly suspect ages of other models?
-
Lying about your age increases your value in certain jobs. I read that many professional sportsmen lie about their age to increase their job span. Eg. Footballers...
That aside, it's a common thing for celebrities to lie about their age. Some are actually instigated by their publicity company to do so.

A. i still love Jun-chan, this isn't gonna change that...
B. as the resident 'asian girls' guy at all the other forums i frequent, i've had to defend her countless times when other people have talked shit about her (after myself and other people posted her pics) saying 'wtf she looks like she's 12'....
C. i totally believed that she was 23...and apparently so did lots of other people...i seriously doubt that her fans are suddenly gonna stop worshipping her because she's really 26...i mean it's not like she admitted that she's really a man or something like that :o

no matter how old she really is, this woman is awesome
-
Does it really make a difference? a model is a model... You can tell by her face in some pictures that she has to be at least over 18 and that is good enough to satisfy any legal restrictions.
-
I'd still do her :P
Agreed!
-
oops i almost thought she was to be declared underage........ sure am glad she is not!!!! Now that i check, i am not the only who thought that :) :D ;D!!
-
kudos to Jun then =)
for me as one that got the 'everlasting-youthful asian face', i don't even have to ly about my age; the security/door guys here in the States think i'm still a teenager and still regularly check my ID with strong suspicion of under-age attempting to drink in the bars i 'try' to get into ;)
-
it doesn't really matter since she still looks good as hell, and i'll stil bang her O0
-
Doesn't the opposite happens, girl lies about her age that she's younger rather than older. Either way she's hot then and she's hot now ;D
-
Women ;D All the same, not only models.
Look in schools, up to 18-20, they try to look older, from then, trying the opposite. Thats just normal.
-
Doesn't matter if shes 26, 30 etc. She's damn fine.
-
I knew her just 2 weeks ago but i think she is one of the most beautiful woman I ever seen ! SOO CUTTE. And her age don't change anything ^^
If somebody know where i can dl some of her movies can he tell me plz ? ^^
-
I just find that now :

I think she's still lying, but this time about why she originally lied. Teenage fans wouldn't care if she was 19 rather than 22. The old pervert man who is into the loli category certainly would. I think that's the fan base her agency was going after.
-
She was probably pressured by her agency to lie about her age. Good for her for coming clean now. It doesn't really matter how old she is. She looks amazing!
-
i think age would be no problem.....
it's the same even jun-chan older..... still kawaii......
:glasses:
