A tiny creature that has not had sex for 100 million years has overturned the theory that animals need to mate to create variety. Analysis of the jaw shapes of bdelloid rotifers, combined with genetic data, revealed that the animals have diversified under pressure of natural selection, despite consisting only of females. Researchers say that their study "refutes the idea that sex is necessary for diversification into evolutionary species." (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/science/article1539281.ece)
Those bdelloid rotifers don't know what they're missing!
But technically speaking, the researcher quote isn't precisely accurate - bacteria evolve and diversity and don't produce via sex.

100 million years without sex... sucks to be them XD

I know a guy that seems to be of this species XD :P

" I don't know about these critturs, but lack of sex affects my demeanor. The less sex I have, de meanor I get. "

yeah there are plenty of asexual organisms, but I think what makes this one special is that its species has lasted so long.

hm....i dont want to be that kind of species....
-
i finally found out what kind of species i am!
-
hell no! I'd rather die

poor organism ... 100 million years still not have sex once
