Title: The Grand Theft Auto Thread
Post by: modesta107 on March 23, 2007, 09:37:55 PM
So is anybody here siked for the release of the new GTA game!?
I don't know the exact date yet and it's driving me crazy. I'm such a huge
GTA fan, and the past games like Vice city and (especially) San andreas were the bomb. The trailer for GTA IV is coming out the 29th

GTA hasn't been my favorite franchise and usually the games get a bit boring for me but they are fun to play on the go.  I'll pick this one up.

GTA loses its interest value after like two weeks, then you wonder why people love it so much, same thing every game. Unless they  revamp this somewhat, i'm not getting it.

Last time I checked it was belived to be due for release mid October.

And heck yeah I'm totally looking forward to the trailer, it's gonna be great to see what's been in the making so far. I haven't really heard anything about GTA4 since E3 and the announcement that it'll be out on the 360.

Am I psyched (correct spelling)? Not overly. I'm looking forward to it; but I'm not going to be flipping out around the release date.

Well I'm sorry for the incorrect spelling, Mr. Kei :ONbored:

anways, what do u guys think their gonna keep some of the same features from San andreas? I was really impressed with that game. I beat it like 3 times, and it was fun each time

Post by: Sev on March 24, 2007, 08:25:51 PM
There are other games I'm looking forward to more than GTA, but I'm happy as long as I get to crack a few virtual skulls open and make a gouranga (was it?). Do we even know what theme it'll be this time around?

Regardless. I am curious to see how GTA will do on the "next gens". Saints Row was awsome but lacked some the great stuff that the GTA series brings. But as long as Rockstar tops SR it'll be well worth getting.
Title: GTA IV
Post by: chroe on March 25, 2007, 12:33:52 AM
I'll pick it up too.
I liked San Andreas a lot, but the guys from Rockstar just keep making the same mistakes over and over again. They always make the games bigger with more stuff to do, but most of it is completely useless imo.
My advice: Keep it relatively small, polish the graphics, include every part of the map in the main story and focus more on the driving aspect( that's what i loved in the original DRIVER game btw).

It would also help if they released beta versions of the game earlier for the magazines, because feedback can help.
But as of now, GTA is a game which doesn't live up to its potential.

So did you guys check out the trailer? How'd you like it? I was really impressed with the graphics because it's like no other past GTA game. I wish they could have given us more to see in the trailer.
Title: Re: GTA IV
Post by: storyboard on April 04, 2007, 04:50:35 AM
I just hope the graphics are as good as they looked in the trailer. I hope they add some real multiplayer action, instead of San Andreas' multiplayer thing. It would be fun to have a fellow sibling or friend hellp you out with missions or just go along for a killing spree.

:D :D :D I actually lurked about their main site to keep refreshing the page to see that awesome trailer. Liberty City has never been so beautiful and I'm planning on getting it when it hits the 360.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

I'm not uptodate, a new part is coming and I don't know!

The graphics in the trailer are awsome. I MUST have this game, when ist starts.

Hope that bavarian asshole don't make these games illegal, like he plans. Whatever, I buy always the austrian version ::) german language and no cuts or bloodless.

Anyone catch the second trailer..so cinematic, which I love. I love everything about this upcoming game. On my 360 I've downloaded the theme for my dashboard and its nice. I've also read that there's one more trailer to come out

I heared there won't be any planes :( that would suck..

the most amazing thing about GTA SA was that you could take a plane and fly over the entire map without the game having to reload even once!

Title: Re: GTA IV
Post by: jChu* on August 21, 2007, 01:55:22 AM
Yeah...i was pissed when GTA IV was pushed back till next year seeing as its one of the few great games available for the PS3 this year.

But then again, Ive read some articles about the GTA IV demo they showed to a few gaming sites that there were some noticeable glitches in the game and loading times... so this delay will give the guys over at Rockstar to polish the gameplay more.

Release date is still two months away. For anybody that doesn't know, they've updated their official site.  I've watched their videos for the characters and advertisements.  My favorite one has to be the Whiz Cellular Ad, pretty funny.

This is new one.

I like their ads. GTA always has good humor.

Like the sound of the new radio stations. IF99 in particular. Maybe Lazlow can make an appearance in the new talk show. Anyone know if the soundtrack is completely original or do they use existing tracks like they have done since with Vice City?

Yeah I always love the radio stations' music and talks.  Some of the best humor in the game comes from there.

I hope that animation where the body goes tumbling downstairs from the shotgun blast is not scripted, but is an indication of some of the physics of the game

Actually more than 4 have been revealed now.  There was a site update yesterday.  Everybody should go check it out, it gets better and better.  And for those that have seen the GTA gamestop commercial, its looks like that guy in there, Jeremy St Ives, is a Radio Jocky.  I'm hoping to hear a lot of him in the game, he seems pretty funny.

He can be sued for defamation or something can't he?

The game (GTAIV) leaked yesterday on 360. I don't do piracy so I haven't tried it. Have anyone played it, if so, how good is it really?

I don't really trust that Official Xbox magazines review, but i'm dying to know what i can expect.

He's an obvious player of this game.

I read that they had put a character similar to Thompson in the game who you had to kill... yeah

I haven't heart about that leak.  I'm not going to try it if I do find it, but do you know where to find it? Like is it on marketplace or something?
Title: Re: The Grand Theft Auto Thread
Post by: Sev on April 24, 2008, 11:53:04 PM
^ No marketplace. I'm talking about piracy. It's probably out on every major tracker. Tho it seems like Microsoft are doing what they should and are banning XBL accounts that play the game before release. Also I've heard that the leaked version is really buggy and stuff.

Remember kids; Piracy is a crime! Buy the game! lol

Just so you know, they can be seen in Niko's room. Just walk past the bed and a message should pop up asking if you want to watch TV.

The Eurphoria engine's immense! No more one animation for punching or kicking. When I knocked someone to the ground and kicked towards their head, it physically connected with their face and they went down again clutching their face with their hands XD

I love that this is like THE GAME where you can do all the shit you know you cant irl. XD

The online multilayer is awesome. Tons of unexpected cool moments when you play GTA with real people. I was on the roof of a skyscraper just admiring the view when some some guy in a helicopter comes by going back and forth trying to mow me down. I shot off a couple of rockets his way and knocked out his ride. He leaped out and was falling right above me. So I fired another rocket, nailed him in mid air and blew myself back in the process. I've already had probably 50 sweet moments like that in only short amount of time.

I haven't done much in the main story yet, I always get sidetracked. I did just get to the second main island.

^ So annoying though cause naturally your first instinct is to take a corner, without realising that everyone else thinks the same, which results in a mass pile up! GTA Race is where you can get away with stuff. I was near last so I decided to hold everyone else up by parking a truck in front of a narrow road, where one of the checkpoints is. And it was a motorbike race too so the consequences were very funny

Still playing the single player campaign though. Also some great moments. It's quite sureal to go be running from the cops with 'Because of You' on the radio XD

Quick question for those playing The Lost And Damned, has anyone else found some game-breaking glitch after completing the mission 'Collector's Item'? What I mean is, after completion, no story missions appear on the map at all. I thought you have to complete all of Angus's bike collecting missions or Stubb's side missions but after completing them all and with 7 in-game days passed by, there's been no updates. Anyone know how it can be fixed, if at all? :(

New DLC coming out  http://www.rockstargames.com/theballadofgaytony/ (http://www.rockstargames.com/theballadofgaytony/)

I remember seeing the protagonist in the main story line , but I never realized how much he appeared in the game. I also thought it was a bit unusual during the bank robbery scene where he first talks with the guy. I just felt like there was more to him. I guess I was right, since he's gonna be the lead in the new episode.

I HAVE A QUESTION GUYS :D

GTA Vice City for PC: http://store.steampowered.com/app/12110/ (http://store.steampowered.com/app/12110/)

Is the whole map accessible immediately or do you have to unlock stuff like in San Andreas on PS2?
I'm asking because I suck at clearing the missions and that's why I haven't unlocked any areas in San Andreas lol. TT__TT
So if this is the same, then I shouldn't get it but focus on San Andreas lol

That song is: m.o.v.e - Dog Fight
They're all Initial D songs, I had a theme going, lol.

Currently trying to do this in GTA IV, but getting a 6 star seems really hard T.T plus the cheat won't raise it past 5 and if I go to the locked island I can't get out of it because of the roadblock XD maybe there's a mod somewhere.

GTA (still San Andreas) is making me so depressed!! LOL

I tried to clear the drive by mission last night four or five times, AND I STILL FAILED!! It's impossible for me to unlock the rest of the map and I hate it!!! TT__________TT I want to access all the areas!! shiiiiiit It's so fricking annoying. When I try to drive to the paint place to escape cops, fricking cop cars keep crashing to me  from all sides, so how the fuck can I get away?? Then my car blows up and I'm done. FUCK THIS SHIT SERIOUSLY :(

Reading these posts makes me wanna play San Andreas again...but unfortunately my copy doesn't seem to like Windows Vista (first run PC version that still has Hot Coffee intact), so I think I might have to buy it again. Of course, that just means I'll probably pick up the Trilogy version so I can explore GTA3 and Vice City as well, since San Andreas and GTA2 are the only ones I've ever owned (the latter being free (http://www.rockstargames.com/classics/)).

Those 6-star runs are insane. I used to try the whole "get from this place to that place with certain stars" thing before, but not with 6 stars. I'll have to try that out if I ever get my game working again.

I just couldn't handle multiplayer in GTAIV. Not only would it not find games for me most of the time, but anytime I did I'd get thoroughly smoked. And considering how high the caps are for each level and I only seem to get a few measly hundred dollars each game, I just kinda lost enthusiasm. The chopper vs chopper mode is hella fun though XD I think dying a lot is just part of the multiplayer experience. As for the gobble gobble achievement, I heard there's some spot you can bowl from that guarantees you strikes but I got mine through pure luck XD

On November 2, Rockstar will release the debut trailer for the fifth main game in the Grand Theft Auto series, according to the developer's site.

With the title previously unconfirmed, the above logo is our first official glimpse of anything to do with the game, though there have been strong rumours for a while now that the title would be based in Los Santos, the series' version of Los Angeles.

Grand Theft Auto V will be the first new game in the series since 2008's Grand Theft Auto IV, which was given two expansions, The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony. Grand Theft Auto IV became the highest grossing video game in 24 hours following its May 13, 2008 release. That record was later toppled by Halo 3 and then Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

This week marks the ten year anniversary of Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto III.

It's funny how other sites released it before the official website did, even though that's the one everyone was supposed to watch XD

It does look cool! being called 5? idk, games these days have the problem of having no real technological jump, they only look slightly better than before, so while it does look better they have more or less used the GTAIV engine with a new city/cities?

I'm a little disappointed in the protaganist being 'some white guy', I know people have been saying that a female protaganist wouldn't work; 'girls wouldn't do that' 'women don't murder people' 'no way can a woman pull someone out of a car' etc etc

But I see all those as good points! if the main character was a lady, it would be really interesting to see WHY she was doing all that stuff, rather than some rich white dude trying to become richer. They could change the animations for car jacking when she doesn't have a gun on her, or even make it really difficult when she doesn't have one, idk!

I think this new game would of been the perfect time to do this, or even if they're too scared to do it, have a male or female choice at the start (another NEW idea for GTA) or have a story that can fit both?

Unless visiting prostitutes and strip clubs is that important? that or they don't want to be anything like Saints Row, which is probably doing a good job by marketing it's self as a game where you can choose who you want to be, male or female.

I'll buy GTA5 anyway, haha.
Title: Re: The Grand Theft Auto Thread
Post by: Tuffty on November 02, 2011, 08:16:20 PM
I agree with you, a female protaganist would have been pretty interesting. They still could though! One of the rumours flying around is that you play as multiple characters throughout the course of the story. Who's to say if it's real or not, but I would like to see that for sure. If this guy is the rich guy looking to get richer, why not play as someone on the opposite end of the spectrum who's lost everything and wants to get back to where they used to be if not higher up than before and have those stories converge somehow. They did so in a degree between IV and all it's expansion packs after all. But only if done right, I hope Rockstar learned lessons from LA Noire and don't introduce new protaganists late into the story, making the one you've been playing as for a dozen hours or so take a backseat all the way to the end of the game.

GTAV is a pretty big statement to make if you look at the jumps between each iteration. Each one kind of pushed the boundaries in a lot of ways. From II to III it was the leap into 3D and on a new generation of hardware. III to IV was again a leap to a new generation but obviously, the world was bigger, more stuff to do, online multiplayer for the first time and obviously, HD graphics. GTAV doesn't have that luxury, it's still on the same generation and at this stage, looks to be regular ass GTA. I think Rockstar knows it too and I expected them to save that leap for the next generation and get people really hyped for it. Unless this one makes other advances in ways we don't know about? Who's to say? Maybe it's all in the name, if they called it GTA : Los Santos you know you would expect people bitching about why it's not DLC

All I know is that trailer got me excited for it. Not overwhelmed as with other debut trailers, but curious to see what Rockstar will do. I liked the setting in San Andreas so would like to see more of it in HD please. There looks to be some rural areas too so hopefully maybe something like Las Venturas will be in there too. Definately looking forward to seeing what will be done with this.

I actually think the graphics look like a pretty great jump from GTAIV or RDR, at least considering it's on the same consoles and what not (although the trailer could just be PC footage). It seems like they fixed the horrendous dithering and added some ambient occlusion.

I'm kinda disappointed it seems like another city re-do stylistically. First Liberty City and now San Andreas. Would have been cool to see something new or a more stylized world or an different time period in the same way as Vice City.
Title: Re: The Grand Theft Auto Thread
Post by: thatonezombie on November 03, 2011, 02:30:15 AM
A different setting would have most definitely been a nice chance of pace I don't have a problem with them going back because I think it will help them focus the story a bit. I enjoy the sandbox nature but I usually enjoy experiencing the various beats of GTA's story. It's why I never really bothered to play anything past the first Saints Row. I appreciate the crazy that Volition has embraced but ever since SR2 and especially SR3, their craziness seems unearned to me and just generally turns me off.

It's not a shoe-in that I pick up GTA5 first week but they have me paying attention.

There was meant to be a new trailer this week, but Hurricane Sandy has caused the release to be delayed. Could be as early as Monday when we see it though, and apparently the next Game Informer magazine will also have a lot more details. Don't have the room for that on the 360 and I'm a bit hesitant to clear up some space.  I'm thinking that I'll get the game for PS3 instead. I just hope Microsoft doesn't pay Rockstar to get their hands on the DLC first like they did with IV.

I don't have the 8GB mandatory install space for my 360 either, so PS3 it is. We, those of us here in JPH!P, should absolutely think about getting some time and playing online together. Would be hilarious!

But, I would love to re-create the bank vault robbery scene in Fast Five.

Something that usually gets me interested pre release is finding out about the game's soundtrack. Details are starting to come out about it now (http://kotaku.com/good-lord-the-gta-v-soundtrack-is-going-to-be-amazing-1217367806) and it sounds pretty ambitious

Quote
GTA V will have 15 radio stations, two talk radio stations, 240 (!!) licensed songs, and what Pavlovich calls "20 movies' worth of score." That is officially a shitload of music.

There've got some outstanding celebrity radio DJs, including Pam Grier for a soul station, Bootsy Collins hosting an 80s funk station, and Kenny Loggins hosting the classic rock station. Which hopefully will still be set to play every time you climb into a helicopter.

There's a few other songs leaked out as well. (http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/1kyndb/complete_gta_v_soundtrack_leaked_list_of_songs/) Sounds like a very broad, healthy mix. Very curious to hear it all.

I clicked that link and when I read West Coast Classics, I was sold

I didn't even need to read that list. But I'm glad I did, because Geto Boys are from Houston, Texas. With the detail Rockstar puts into the radio, I bet the person who posted that list messed up.

Oh man, I should stop nitpicking, but I take my hip hop seriously  XD

I put my pre order in. In all honesty, I don't need it right away when you take into consideration how many games I'm playing (read: a lot). Two of which are Yakuza 4 and Saints Row 3, both massive open world games with plenty to see and do already. But it feels like everyone and their mother will be playing GTA V so I might as well join in. It's almost like an event you know?

Got my copy today! Not much to say other than it's really very good so far after 2-3 hrs of living the thug life. Impressed by how smooth it runs, no slowdown or framerate hitches yet which is promising. I know I've barely scratched the surface when it comes to the game too. Lemar's hilarious and Chop's just great. Wait until you see him in action. You'll know what I mean  Driving is good (really enjoy the motorcycles), shooting feels like a cross between Red Dead and Max Payne 3 which is nice.  The immersion's just great, like in The Last Of Us it's the little added things that sell it as a believable world. I mean, you didn't really need to hear pedestrians having phone conversations between people, but the fact that they did and you can listen in if you want to? That's great. Or cars with retractable roofs. That's great too. Really looking forward to seeing more. Only briefly gone out at night, but it looks gorgeous.

^ WHAT?!  Get the hell out! I'm going crazy over here waiting to play. I leave the house in 24 hours to pick up my copy.

I loved the phone conversations in GTA IV. Really looking forward to that and the little things you've mentioned.

I think I'm most excited for the return of bikes. I was so fast on those in San Andreas.

Post by: Tuffty on September 16, 2013, 09:57:12 PM
^ Yep! I was fortunate in that I ordered through Amazon and they sent out copies early, much to Rockstar's disapproval. You'll be pleased to know that bikes are very cool to handle. Next one I find I'm going to get stored in a garage. Just wanna add that I do enjoy the tennis a lot. It's hardly the same caliber as say Virtua Tennis or something, but it plays well and I'll definately play more games. Just trying to find the golf/darts etc. As I was winding down last night, I made a point to drive out of the city towards the countryside. Along the way I found a jetski, moving down a river, to where I found an ATV and drove around some more. I'm looking up at the mountains and just wondering if it's possible to climb up them. All in all a really good looking game. Most of the songs I know of are coming out of the pop station. Never would I think I would hear All Saints in any game let alone GTA

Spent a bit of time today reading some professional reviews......then wound up getting sucked into internet bullshit. Apparently 9/10's are too low. A reviewer for the Escapist is getting the most flak for a 7/10 review. Heaven forbid someone has an opinion that doesn't agree with you! The worst case was sadly Gamespots review, written by a woman. You can guess that the comments below are both predictable and infuriating to read. *sigh*

I think everyone gets a little caught up in the hype train. Best thing to do is just close the laptop, avoid reading comments from people who are either too quick to defend something or from people who haven't played it at all and then just play it for yourself.

But watching the minority erupt in incandescent rage reminds me of this video from Mega 64

GTA 5: fan stabbed and robbed of new video game (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/10314819/GTA-5-fan-stabbed-and-robbed-of-new-video-game.html)

Quote
The 23-year-old was attacked as he made his way home from a supermarket in the early hours of this morning. He had been to the Asda superstore in Colindale, North West London, which had opened late for the worldwide release of the fifth version of the notoriously violent game at midnight. A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "We were called at 1.20am to Princes Avenue, Colindale. A 23-year-old man was shopping, then on his way back home he was hit with a brick and stabbed. "He was robbed of items he had bought from a nearby Asda supermarket, including a copy of Grand Theft Auto." Police believe the attack was carried out by multiple suspects but said it remained unclear how many were responsible. The victim was taken to a north London hospital, where he was in a stable condition this morning. Detectives have asked witnesses to contact Crimestoppers with any information on the attack. Twitter users meanwhile expressed their shock at the violent mugging, with one writing, "It's just a game".

Hope this was a random incident and not because the guy bought a copy of the game.  :smhid

I think I played it for about 15 hours in one sitting (stopping for meals tho lol)
It's good, I have a few niggles with dying due to some bad programming and no fault of my own, and the rage inducing fact that your car always seems to spin around backwards, no matter what when you hit things and when you bump into cars they WILL NOT MOVE so in races it's incredibly frustrating.

I wonder if a lot of people want the PC/next gen version simply for higher resolution nipples on the strippers
I might be spoiled by PC gaming, but I do notice a lot of jaggies during the day in the enviroment, but the face animation is really good, weirdly moreso on the supporting characters like Mike's daughter and ******* lol

I really appreciate the fact that it helped me take my mind off of sad things for a while tho, a little escapism is nice.

So GTA Online will have micro transactions. Pay real money for a sum of in game money. But on the plus side, they've said that all future gameplay updates and additions will be free! So I'm ok with that. Really my main concern is actually getting online. If I can't upload a selfie because the Social Club services are busy, how do you think they'll be able to cope when half of the world goes online to play this?

The garage glitches and the super fragile cars are really making getting the stunt jumps as annoying as fuck D:

Travelling all the way down to where a jump is and bumping your car once where the wheel is? Oh no, sorry, your car is broken now, go and get another one!

Oh? what's that? normal cars don't go fast enough to make the jumps? you have to upgrade? oh what's that? your car is gone forever and you spent all that money?

GAME OF THE YEAR

You deserve to lose that money if you're not using that quicksave feature right before the jumps.

Title: Re: The Grand Theft Auto Thread
Post by: pikapikapika on October 01, 2013, 08:08:11 PM
So I should be turning the game on and off for 50 separate jumps?

You think this is normal? I guess this is all my fault too? Stop trolling, you did this in IRC too.

This is a glitch that needs to be patched, defending the game and blaming me for losing cars to it is ridiculous and stupid.

I'm done with speaking to you, harass someone else.

Post by: Shin Asuka on October 01, 2013, 11:00:53 PM
What troll?

All I said was to save before every jump using your phone quicksave feature. Then if you fail you push start and go to load the game save again.

And in the IRC I said use the garages that stores 4 cars. They seem to work better than the safe houses.

Been playing GTAV slowly for around 5 days now. :)

Just got to Michael's "Yoga" mission which went all crazy. That mission was pretty out there. XD
It's lotsa fun. But not sure why, it isn't blowing my socks off yet. Maybe splitting to 3 main characters has segmented out their storyline so I'm not as attached to them. Missions don't really feel that exciting either.
Trevor reminds me of my dad though, so that's kinda funny. Just the look, not the blowing up everything that can be blown up and telling guys to take their pants off bit.

Won't try online till they rub out the bugs and make it safer though. At least till I finish the main story.

Saw a patch for PS3 when I was playing yesterday, so that's some good news:

I was able to connect a few days after the online release, a bit fun if you like anarchy. My advice is just keep doing missions and not die, after that build up a clan so you can kill more people XD

Hey,

If you're asking how to take his shirt off, just go to one of his safehouses and pick outfits<underwear or whatever his choice of non-shirts are.

Looks like a lot of the issues with GTA Online have been ironed out, at least in my experience. As something of a goodwill gesture for those who may have experienced glitches or lost characters over the past few days, Rockstar will be giving all online players $500,000 in game cash. So now's the time to join! If you're on PS3, I created a crew, JPHIPsters (wanted to go with just JPH!P but it said it was below the minimum length) so give me a shout and I can add you, we can hit up games together. Heists, robberies, shootouts, tennis, golf. You know, gangster shit.

After some checking, every player in the world has created an asian girls with that bob hair. :P

Funny thing from my first online experience.
After I began playing online mode for 10 seconds, I got my obligatory "GTA" welcome in the form of a guy on a bike chasing and shooting me with a SMG.
I was still driving the car from the intro race, so I tried driving away from him. The guy didn't stop chasing though, so after one of the turns I totally halted my car and his bike high-speed crashed straight into it, with him flying into the air. I of course gave him the obligatory "GTA" thank you, by driving my car over him 4-5 times.
Thanks for my first online kill, man!~

Had a good laugh with pika yesterday. Did a couple of fun things, including golf which I was terribly unlucky at (shut up, I was) we tried escaping from the police only to finally escape on a secluded beach. That's when pika decided to depart and return back to the ocean from whence he came...

We did a bunch of crazy stuff too. Most of it running away from the police XD I unfortunately killed her a bunch of times because as I was shooting she ran up close to me and it registered as a melee attack XD Though one time was completely intentional as I took the helicopter up as far as it would allow and then ejected out using my parachute. Of course, she's a passenger without a parachute so she just fell down with it. Worth it to hear the reaction

News on the new patch and the GTA$ Stimulus Package.

Quote
Update: Rockstar has announced a new patch has been deployed to fix the remaining issues experienced by GTA Online players, and confirmed the promised in-game cash compensation should arrive in the next couple of days.

Patch 1.05 can be downloaded now and should prevent players from losing progress in the event of a cloud outage, protect your cash balance in the face of network problems and stop anyone losing vehicles or mods in GTA Online.

The 500,000 GTA$ will be delivered in the next couple of days. Rockstar has said that all the cash will be sent out over a 24-hour period once its initiated, so don't panic if your friends get their lump sum first, yours will be on the way shortly.
