WTF ?!  I'm really surprised that he didn't lose balance and crash the bike ...... coz the balance will be very different without the leg .... (maybe it's just me ...)

It is good  to be with friends to pick up your legs.  Japanese bike license is very hard to get. The biker must be really competent.

Makes sense that it was his right leg.  On motorbikes you use your left foot to shift the transmission, whereas the right foot is only used if the bike is equipped with a foot brake (by default, many are not).

Quote
He felt excruciating pain, but did not notice that his right leg was missing until he stopped at the next junction, the paper quoted local police as saying.

lol I skimmed trough it and I guessed I missed that part.

p/s: I've seen guys with only one leg riding R1's leaning into corners like Valentino Rossi, of course with sum minor mods.....but damn can they ride....now that's hardcore (couldn't catch up with them on my moped....)

You just gotta believe in yourself, trust in your heart and you will find you can touch the stars.

When I'm out riding, it's just me, the bike and the road...
That guy is my hero, legs are for girls, they just slow you down anyway.

I think it is pretty common in these cases that the person cannot feel he is missing a severed body part.
