So true, all this legitimization over a hygienic lifestyle is causing children to lack the ability to cope with even an allergy. 'Tis sad

If only...

Makes sense if you think about it. It's better for your body to build up it's defences when you're younger since you're more resilient then compared to when you're older. History provides a great example when the Europeans first came to N.America and wiped out a whole bunch of Native peoples because the latter had never been exposed to diseases like chicken pox.

It's logic really. our ancestors didn't used to have antiseptics and all those hygienic stuff.. and they're ok, rite? basically too much of anything is bad, even cleanliness :)

I always came back muddy after playing soccer when I was a kid, so maybe that helped :p

You're right, it has been COMMON KNOWLEDGE. The news is, now there's SCIENTIFIC evidence. See the difference? ;)

Well, the life expectancy for most people a hundred years ago was lower than now. This is because they didn't have all the medical and technical advances we do now.

But about vaccinations... aren't they sorta like forced immunities... I don't see how they can cause allergies.

But yeah it makes sense that anti-bacterial stuff and the practice of purifying air can.

I thought this was already scientifically proven, but I guess I just assumed it was.

I never believed in the use of anti-bacterial lotion or what not(though I do use anti-bacterial hand soap since they're everywhere)... Unless you stuck your hands in shit or something, I doubt there's enough bacteria there to make you sick

Let the kids play and have fun, thats what being a kid is all about.
The Human body has to experience colds and what not to learn and develop stronger antibody defenses.
Overprotection, like anything else, has it pros and cons.
