The short drive to the airport gave me little time to think of my next move although looking at Ai I saw Risa's face and I felt more confident about my decision. As the limousine stopped at out location, I grabbed the suitcase and opened it to take out 200,000 yen and gave the rest away to the driver.
“Mister... thank you for all what you have done and as our gift to you keep this and be with your family.” The driver looked at the money and closed the suitcase.
“You girls be safe and good luck.” We closed the doors and walked into the airport to get our tickets, however I had no clue where to go.
“I know we can go to Nagoya for a bit and make our new lives there.” I rubbed my chin for a bit and shook off the idea.
“Okinawa, let's go there!” I insisted as Ai nodded and went up to get our tickets.
“Two one-way tickets to Okinawa.” The lady smiled and punched the keys to get us our tickets but somehow there were a few men with radios going toward us. I grabbed Ai by the hand and ran toward the bathroom.
“Kamei! We are not going to do it here!” Ai said and I tried to keep her quiet as the radios went silent.
“Sorry, I think they might be after us, we have to find a way out of here...” I looked around and then found some toilet paper and decided to throw it out and luckily many went after it. We both ran to the gate and shoved ourselves through. We hid behind the curtain as the flight was boarding and no one was behind us but somehow it seemed safe to assume people were after us and we walked to the back of the plane to find a bag to raid. Surprisingly, two jackets and ski masks to cover our faces.
“I think we are safe for now as long as we stay back here and chill.” Ai's muffled voice was making me giggle.
We sat back and waited for the place to go off as we are the lone people in the back of the plane and looking outside I just took a deep breath and held Ai's hand. Looking into her eyes, I felt the most happiest when I was with her and as the plane started to move, I gave her a kiss on her head and felt relieved for the first time.
I closed my eyes as we lifted off and when I woke up the plane had landed and we raced out of the airport to see sunny Okinawa. We ran out of the airport and walked toward the beach as I fell to my knees and started to cry as a little girl went by us.
“Ma'am, are you all right?” She asked.
“Yes, I am just happy to be here and I hope you never experience my life or my friends. I want you to enjoy your life and if there was anything I can give, I want you to hold your friends tight, they will always be there....” Ai lifted me up as the girl silently went away.
“Eri, thank you.” Ai gave me a kiss on the cheek and we went off to find a new place to stay and hope no one shall ever experience what thousands have experienced in 300 years.
