I may be one of the few who likes makoto as a blonde, huh?  But yeah, most of the time Japanese look weird blonde.  Black hair looks better, maybe a little brown.  of course, I don't shre the well nigh universal blonde fetish either, so I have a definite brunette bias.

Even Miyabi from Berryz Kobo has dyed it black

I wouldn't ever think of dying my hair blonde...

I think Mako looked good blonde, although better when her hair was brown. She also said in her Dokyu episode that she was getting bored of the blonde, and she also mentioned that her hair was damaged from dyeing it blonde.

Yeah!!! This is very good news... Japanese girls don't have natural blond hair for a reason...it looks terrible!!!

I'm happy with where the future is heading acording to hairdresser Yuko Shimizu
"What's seen as attractive now is to look well groomed and cute,"

Who wouldn't want that?

I disagree. on some Japanese (and other Asian) women, it looks really good, and sometimes better than their natural color. but, of course, it doesn't work on all. on some people, it does look terrible and very fake. plus, too much bleaching can destroy your hair, making it dry and fragile.

I've never been one to follow hair color trends, even though being part of the GAL (Kogal) culture is all about trends. and the trendier you are, the better. I've considered going blonde, but I don't think it'll suit me as much as darker colors. as of now, I dyed my hair a slight burgundy (my natural color being dark brown).

True, and Yaguchi is the perfect example.

About GAL, (even though i stopped to follow their events some months ago), if i remember well, they already went back to dark hair, some months ago... (and that's really stylish, it's more mature.)

Just look at Nakama Yukie's black hair in SHINOBI, she's HOT! Come to think of it she had black hair most of the time.
