This girl's been getting some buzz for a while, I'm surprised there's no thread yet...

Kylee Saunders is a singer/songwriter born to an American father and Japanese mother. She is a fast-rising star who is getting the best out of both the US and Japanese music scenes.

I was able to catch her perform in San Francisco at this year's J-Pop Summit Festival...here are a couple photos I took:


I can't help but picture her as a more rock-oriented version of Utada, being American-born and bilingual, as well as possessing a fairly powerful voice...fittingly enough, she cited Hikki as one of her favorite singers. So far I like her songs "Vacancy" and "Kimi ga Iru Kara", as well as a third one she performed that I can't seem to remember the title of.

I've been informed that Kylee grew up with Hirata Rina of AKB48 fame in Arizona.

AAAAAAHHHHHH now I kind of regret not going to her meet and greet and asking her about it. Ah well, was having a blast at the Peace Plaza at the time, so I can't complain.

Saw her live in the bay area.
I gotta say this girl is pretty talented!
Her song covers were pretty good but it's unfortunate that she...did get overshadowed by the other 3 performers (LoVendoR, Daichi, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu)

But I like how this girl is going so far.
I have this weird Michelle Branch vibe when I see her but...I dunno
