Pls sign petition demanding Thai junta does not harm protestors

Hi guys and gals!

Sorry this is in a seperate thread, but I really want to get the word out.

The recent military coup in Thailand has put quite a strain on Bangkok.  Among other things, political meetings of greater than 5 people have been banned, with sentences of up to 6 months in jail.  Several people have already been arrested, even a hunger striker.  The last military junta 15 years ago ended up shooting and torturing quite a number of people.

I don't think any of us want that to happen, so I'd like to point you to an on-line petition at http://www.petitiononline.com/thaicoup/petition.html
where you can demand that the authorities must not arrest or harm protestors.

Hhmmmmm..... I checked and there does seem to be something wrong with the site.  It was probably the overwhelming strength of all your hearts overpowering the server, a slashdotting of people power and goodwill!
