anyone else having "Suicide Circle/Club" flashbacks as well?

but amazingly, it's New Zealand who currently holds the title for having the highest teen suicides.

I have no idea what would make someone end their life by committing suicide.

you can't say whether suicide is the answer or not, unless you've actually felt suicidal for whatever reason (depression, etc). only those who've actually gone through that can tell you, so it's best not to make any quick judgements.

you also can't just say "it's the easy way out", because for some unfortunate people, it's the only way out for them. it's an illness.

if you want to quote arian then why don't you take note of everything she said instead of just picking out the part you want.

i in no way claim to understand it all myself but if it was the easy way out then most people would do it. don't be so ignorant and stereotype people, especially when it comes to something as serious as suicide. believe me, i would gladly shut "the fuck" up but when you insult my father and one of my best friend's father with your blatent ignorance it makes it hard for me to do so.

I for one, am one who has had those kind of thoughts... and everyonce in a while I'm thankful they never really got anymore than that.

Let me just tell you that it's not even an easy thing to keep those thoughts in your head, it really does get overwhelming.

One of the main reasons I think one would be is because, to put it simply, they just lost the will to live. You go through life, the same routine and things seem to be getting a whole lot worse. You begin to think, "What good have I done?" "How would others people's lives be without me?" "Would anyone even care?" You start to convince yourself that things would be alot better off if you weren't there; you're just a burden to everyone around you. It really is a long thought process, and I think most people that do decide to take their lives have been thinking about it for months, or even years.

From what I also noticed, some begin to feel suicidal when some kind of traumatic event occurs in their lives. Alot of times the person who commits suicide is mentally ill.

There are several reasons why people do it. It's not always simpley because they just don't want to deal with their lives. This was just a general thing. I believe that nobody will ever know the exact reason why someone decides to kill themselves because we all have different things going around our heads.

how did i insult them? because i made a general comment that it automatically became a direct insult? dont put words in mouth. i acknowledged it was an ignorant statement. point it out if you want but telling me straight up to shut up instead, i aint doing favors for you.

maybe when your father or the father of one of your best friends commit's suicide then you'll realise why that statement seems like such an insult, making them sound like some sort of coward and "taking the easy way out" which is a load of crap to be honest. if you know it's an ignorant statement then why even say it? keep it to yourself next time.

I vote that this thread should be locked.  This is an issue that can cause a lot of heated debate due to the nature of the topic. We all can try and keep the discussion on this civil, but there are just too many ways to in advertendly step on people's toes.

Just a reminder.

Ericks and typo0-, this argument is not necessary and I'd like for you two to stop before this gets out of hand.

I do, however, think that intelligent conversation can be had on this topic so I'm not going to lock it.  If you two keep it up, though, I will.  Please be respectful of each others' opinions so that everyone can continue to post here if they wish.

Thank you.

yeap, that's what I was thinking.
keeping it open for now is fine, but if any more of this arises, no choice but to lock it.
