Quote from: from Wikipedia
GoldenEye 007 is a 2010 first-person shooter video game developed by Eurocom and published by Activision for the Nintendo Wii video game console[3]. It is an enhanced remake of the critically acclaimed 1997 video game of the same name, which was developed by Rare for the Nintendo 64. Both games are, in turn, based on the 1995 James Bond film GoldenEye. The game was officially announced by Nintendo at their E3 2010 conference presentation.
...
Although Pierce Brosnan starred as Bond in GoldenEye and was featured in the 1997 game, current Bond actor Daniel Craig's likeness and voice will be featured in the game. Judi Dench, who has portrayed M in GoldenEye, will voice her character.

GoldenEye: Source

Quote from: from Wikipedia
GoldenEye: Source is a total conversion mod in development using Valve's Source engine. GoldenEye: Source is a multi-player-only remake of the award winning 1997 Nintendo 64 video game, GoldenEye 007, itself based on the James Bond film of the same name.
The first alpha release was distributed on December 25, 2005, receiving more than 65,000 downloads in 2 weeks. The first Beta release of GoldenEye: Source was released on December 26, 2006, with an unofficial patch created by a developer released a year later. The patch fixed some of the bugs present in the first beta version, but was not officially supported by the development team with support only available from a topic in the GoldenEye: Source forum. Beta 3, was released on February 7, 2009 after a complete overhaul of the mod's code for the Orange Box version of the Source Engine. The current version, Beta 4, was released on Feb 18th, 2010.

The mod received two awards in the 2006 Moddb awards, a win in Editor's Choice for the Reinvention category, and was player-voted 3rd place in the overall category Mod of the year, rising from their fourth placed finish in the unreleased category of the 2005 awards.

I remember the last time they got another development team to do a Goldeneye game and..well.....

I really enjoyed the original and I didn't even try out multiplayer but it's not the same development team that's doing this remake and console FPS have moved on so much then that I don't really consider this necessary.

What a game though, I remember the last level being near impossible on the harder difficulties. The last guy was a bullet sponge!

We used to have regular GoldenEye parties back in the days, but I'm not particularly looking forward to this multiplayer-wise. Singleplayer is doubtful because of the lack of Brosnan.

I'd rather just wait for GoldenEye: Source to finish up.

I downloaded GE:S earlier today, in the hopes that other people would want to get our super spy on. I never played GoldenEye before, if I'm honest.

Note: to install GoldenEye: Source, you must own a game on this list: http://store.steampowered.com/search/?category2=16

I remember playing that game as a youngin.  I sucked playing against the older guys, but it was some major fun. It was all about that golden gun :D
The trailer leaves me wanting more. I can't stop watching it.

I liked the original as much as the next person but I am still skeptical. I do like updating the technology and using Daniel Craig in the game to make it relevant but the new game is not made by Rare. I think people overlook that part. But I will be paying attention none the less.
I vote for TOZ as the most gangsta~  :otomerika:

Given how crappy last Rare games have been all I can do is be happy they're not making it and the last Call of Duties have been at least good, so I do have some high hopes for it!

Quote
- Judi Dench will be appearing as M
- Tanner from more recent Bond movies will also appear
- more fleshed-out mission briefings
- Bond now has regenerative health
- approach situations with guns blazing, or try stealth
- new cinematic moments (helicopter sent in while you're at the damn)
- longer, more involved missions
- dam mission sees 006 at your side for a large portion
- all classic multiplayer modes returning
- unreachable island from the dam level returns
- Complex is not returning, as it's not part of the film
- Statue Park is a level in multiplayer
- no Bond death music in split-screen, due to it getting annoying
- Bond death music remains for single player and onlline multiplayer
- improved character animations
- Daniel Craig's stunt-double from the films, Ben Cooke, was used for motion capture
- David Arnold handling composing duties
- costume designer Lindsay Pugh and concept artist Robert Cowper are involved with art direction
- stealth allows for context-sensitive neck snaps
- guards ramble through inane chatter
- different routes open up through stealth play
- "Because this is Daniel Craig's Bond. We have what Daniel Craig's Bond means within the gameplay. That's all the agility: he can roll over, jump down from heights, all of that strength. We've also got his physicality, which we're using the Wii motion control for. You can punch through glass, you can fall through glass, you interact with objects with a melee gesture." - Activision producer Dawn Pinkney
- improved enemy AI
- deactivate alarms through your PDA
- "Like the one at the edge of this tunnel, we've got a main door. You go through the main door, you will likely take on a firefight on the other side because you've alerted on AI. Whereas, there's a more covert route around through a manhole tunnel and that allows you to enter the next area covertly. Adding that replay ability to the game and just providing lots of choice, you can go back and try different things." - Activision producer Dawn Pinkney
- online has XP, perks and an unlocks system
- nine different modes for online
- menu has quick options for "inversion" and "skin."
- 'skin' refers to the character you're playing as
- cannot pick two of the same character

- Bond now has regenerative health

Modern gaming right there alright.

Regenerating health should be banned. It's silly in any game, from FPSs to World of Warcraft.

Modern gaming right there alright.

To get the complete modern gaming experience then there better be 3ft high barriers dotted across the area so you can crouch behind and become impervious to bullets.

While Nintendo revealed the upcoming Wii-exclusive GoldenEye at its E3 press conference, there was no mention made of fancy, special controllers.

The leaked information (which panned out to be legit) did, however. It showed off two a "gun" shell for the Wii Remote and nunchuk, as well as a golden classic controller. What would those be worth to you?

GameStop seems to think $69.99. The retailer is listing a "James Bond: Goldeneye Controlller" on its website, although it provides no details other than that Activision is behind the peripheral.

Why would anyone buy these? I hope this is fake, but it was apparently on the Gamestop website previously :shocked

I listened to the Giant Bomb podcast earlier and one of them got to see it at E3. What was interesting about the game was that

- This is not the Goldeneye conversion we know. This is straight up Call Of Duty engine. You hold down a button and you aim down the sights. In multiplayer you have perks. The only sense of nostalgia is in the name and the movie's story. Even the levels, though set in the same locations as the movie, are designed differently.
- Activision found the writer for the Goldeneye movie and had him rework it to better suit Daniel Craig's style of Bond.
