Anybody get The Beatles: Rock Band?

I did. The game is incredible in every way possible.

It's on my list to pick-up once I need a new game.

Oh my god, I've been playing Rockband 2 on X-Box 360 for about two weeks now, and I love it.  I play guitar, and my friend plays drums.  This game is so awesome.

I've been thinking about getting GH for Xbox for a while, now I was wondering if I should get GH or Rock Band.

I only intend to play single guitar and no other instruments (too expensive and not enough space at home) I played GH before at a friends house and asked another friend what he thinks what I should get, but that didn't help really ^^
I heard there's some problems with certain guitar controllers as well...
I'm really at a loss right now  :)
Any recommendations which game I should get?

If you buy rockband 2, you get all the instruments with it.  You never know when you will have people over to play also.  It's a great party game.  While it's a great game for a group, it's just as much fun solo.

Yeah Rock band is more party play, but also hella fun when you play by yourself. The impossible guitar challenge is quiet hard if you like a challenge on guitar. However if you don't really care about playing with your friends, then maybe guitar hero is more for you. A friend of mine has it and says that it's more difficult then rock band after he played rock band at my house. Guitar hero seems more suitable for solo play. Also the controllers of both games are fine, don't worry about it.

As I've said elsewhere, the Logitech guitar controller is just ridiculously well made.  It's like they made a real guitar and put controller hardware in it, and as a result it retails for something like $200.

The rumours were right; Activision has unveiled Guitar Hero 6 as Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. The game's due out this autumn.

Headline features are an "all-new, story-driven Quest Mode" narrated by KISS front man Gene Simmons; a redesigned, "rock-inspired" controller; the biggest on-disc selection of rock music so far and a "Quickplay+" mode.

Quest mode has turned to the fantastical, as eight new characters and a Demi-God of Rock go from New York digs to molten lava fields to battle against The Beast and save rock and roll. Ridiculous powers can be unlocked on the way, and a new art style has been employed.

Quickplay+ mode provides 13 quick-fire challenges for every song - even the old, imported ones. These challenges range from band streaks to high scores and to power challenges, where campaign characters use unlocked abilities to reach impossible scores.

Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock features over 90 songs from bands like DragonForce, Megadeth, Black Sabbath, Slipknot, Queen, Muse and Kiss. The first announced songs are listed below.

The new controller reflects the game's new art style and has been made specifically for "shredding".

Neversoft's making the game for PS3 and 360 while Vicarious Visions develops for Wii.

90 songs is quite a lot, but considering songs are 3 mins at least, maybe 10 mins at most (considering we have Dragonforce confirmed), the story mode can't last longer than 10 hrs. I dunno, seems like a rather pointless addition.

Who else is sick of that song 'Bodies'? Overused to the extreme. An ok setlist, but I'm not hyped for it as I have been previously.

I had ordered John Lennon's Rickenbacker 325 and got George Harrison's Gretsch Duo Jet, instead.  I'm pretty happy it happened I only paid $50 for it, and it still retails for $80+

Activision chops Guitar Hero and True Crime, no music or Hawk games in ’11
Wed, Feb 09, 2011 | 22:43 GMT
It said in the financial release for its full-year fiscal 2011 financial report that “due to continued declines in the music genre, the company will disband Activision Publishing’s Guitar Hero business unit and discontinue development on its Guitar Hero game for 2011.”

On True Crime, it added that it would “stop development on True Crime: Hong Kong. These decisions are based on the desire to focus on the greatest opportunities that the company currently has to create the world’s best interactive entertainment experiences.”

In a statement on its website, developer United Front Games said it was “sorry” it did not finish the project.

“We are sorry we did not get a chance to complete this project with Acitivision, but we understand why,” the statement reads.

Wow, the end of an era huh? Just goes to show what happens when you rape a franchise as much as they did with GH. They better be careful or one of their biggest cash cows (COD) will end up the same way.
