An AD's Story (ANNOUNCEMENT) (KumiYuri)
« on: November 28, 2013, 06:08:02 AM »
Somehow, I get the feeling that I shouldn't be starting a new fic, but... I feel the urge to do so. I've actually got 1.5k of the first chapter finished but I feel as if I'm at the halfway mark of that chapter at most. It's literally impossible to guess the pairing from just the prologue [a hint, it's an SKE pairing], but I hope you guys stay with me 'til the end (I don't plan for this to be all that long)! Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu!

(Apology for butchering jobs and reality)

Prologue

Actresses are people who act and if one decided to be blunt, actresses are people who pretend, but they are good at it. Dancers are people who dance. Singers sing and utilize their voices. Models try to stay beautiful, or at least that would be how it seemed. Idols, sometimes they do all of that along with maybe some other things. All of those types of people seem to shine--they seem to shine so brightly.

And dreams…the dreams of a young girl might be something like that. To be an idol and to shine brightly on a stage, to dance, to have fans who cheer for her, that might be a dream. Maybe, it’s just because of a love for singing, dancing, or acting.

But dreams are for naught. No, that isn’t true, but that is how many people see youthful dreams. Rather than trying for showbiz, aim to be a lawyer or doctor--go to college and medical school. Such a thing might not be too uncommon to come out of an adult, a parent’s mouth. It was logical.

Even passing an audition was no use. After all, quitting comes right afterwards. Then comes, speeding through high school and graduating from university after four years at a considerably young age considering a few skips in grades.
Life was so, life was just like that. Next came finding a job, maybe office work or something like that doctor-lawyer thing. Truly, who would have thought…a job so close to those dreams, a job without any need for formal qualifications…A job still oddly far away from the light--not light but rather the shine, not that this person really seems to have a longing for such anymore.

The noise of the director yelling cues, the sound of the director of photography, cameraperson, getting the film and everything, everyone scurrying here and there, the fluttering of papers that probably shouldn’t be dropped, it somehow just became so normal.

A sigh escaped my lips. There was a peaceful workless time for a while, but the liveliness of work would be starting again. Liveliness wasn’t a bad thing since it wasn’t chaos, but just…liveliness.

Finding nothing else to do, I opened up the script for this next production, a drama. In the end, the storyboards, schedules, and whatnots have to be finished. I flipped to the page listing all the crew and actors…At that moment, I realized that despite their fame, I never really noticed them at all.

...You lucky people... because I'm finished with the chapter, I'm obviously gonna post it! Comment plz. Or at least leave something to show that you're reading?

Take I

Finally, the first day of filming commenced. This person had somehow managed to finish the pre-production work needed. Not once have I actually talked to the actors though. Having finished up with the make-up application and costumes and a bit of rehearsing, we were ready to shoot.

“Quiet on the set!” In order to prevent random extra noises, I called out. Then I directed, “Roll sound. Roll camera.”

The sound was ready and signaled that they were good. I went over to check just in case--not that I don’t trust them.

Likewise, the camera girl gave a thumbs-up and a smile. She had a slightly small face and build, and her black, undyed hair was tied up in a side ponytail. It was interesting how she worked with the somewhat large camera.

Then the clapper board, “Scene xx Take 1!”

 “Action!” That was the director.

After the cue, everything went silent. No music was playing--after all, that type of thing was added in during the editing phase anyways. The scene started. The second AD, a cute type of girl with black hair Sakai Mei, was doing the cue cards thing.

I observed and waited, taking the time to glance over the script for the scene in filming once more. Whoever wrote the script and thought up the story had an extensive imagination. Just looking at the title, Majisuka Band, one wouldn’t think of it as too strange and the beginning might not be too weird, but it comes along--the oddities.

The three main actresses were on scene.

A slightly tanned (and round) girl who seemed to be quite cute, Kizaki Yuria, was acting as the character Tamura Peace. A famous half Spanish model and actress with porcelain like skin and dark, almost black brownish hair, Kinoshita Yukiko, was starring as Kazuki Andrea. There was also a petite pale girl who is said to be a member of a currently popular idol group, her name is Kimoto Kanon and her character’s name is Kawakami Nozomi.

The scene was set in a club room or studio of some sort that would be the setting for most of the story. All three girls were wearing school uniforms--dark blue blazers over a white shirt and a pleated skirt.

Kinoshita’s character, Andrea, happily exclaimed. “Let’s form a band!” She held out a flier that printed her exact words on the top in bright pink letters. “I’ve already posted these all over the place.”

“Yea!” Kizaki, Peace nodded rapidly.

In contrast to the other girl’s energetic characters, Nozomi (Kimoto) replied like a normal person would. “Okay.”

“…um…but don’t we kind of need another member?” Then Peace realized the school’s policy for clubs, it seemed that it was set in a school’s club room, studio place. “Doesn’t a club need 4 students to be approved?”

“Peace-san, that’s why Andrea-san posted those fliers all over the place.” In this part, Nozomi answered Peace’s question. Her expression looked somewhat stiff, but the tiny part was somewhat short and the script said to put b-roll or footage of those fliers during part of that piece of dialogue anyways.

A sudden knock came from the so called window that happened to be closed up and covered by curtains.

Outside was the main male protagonist portrayed by Nakanishi Yuu as Nakanishi Yuu. He was wearing the typical gakuran type male uniform. His dark hair was medium length, not reaching his shoulders yet going past his ears by two inches. This guy is considered a rookie actor.

“…What was that?” Andrea muttered with a surprised expression on her face.

Peace awkwardly suggested the impossible, “A ghost?”

Acting slightly scared by those words, Nozomi stiffly walked away and into an equipment closet. It would seem that she was a character scared by the mention of ghosts. Following afterwards, Peace stealthily scurried to hide behind a couch.

Turning her head as if looking for a place to hide before moving, the Andrea character scrambled off to a so called safe place. In truth, I don’t get the point of it, but that’s how the scene ends. The characters are all off camera.

“Cut!” The director called out.

The scene was finished. No, it’s not exactly right to say that it’s finished. We still need to film at different angles of course. The director approved of what had just been filmed though.

“Check the gate!” That meant for the Camera Assistant to go check if anything malfunctioned or if the film has fluff on it. It’s something like that.

Going through the scene again, there were various close-ups and a few over-the shoulder shots. In little time though, the filming of that part was finished at least.

Following up, we had a slight rest break planned out. Everything was going along schedule and it seemed that we had actually finished that part early.

“…Haa…” I sighed after chugging down a glass of water.

The three actresses as well as the DP who also operated the camera, who was Ogiso, and the 2nd AD (my kouhai in being an AD) were together chatting. Nakanishi was looking over his script as he was a protagonist after all and his big intro should be the next scene.

I leaned back onto a table and took in a deep breath while closing my eyes for a bit. To think that I’m actually not doing much actual labor in a way, but at the same time it’s kind of tiring and pressuring.

I was startled to hear a light voice call out from behind me. “…leaning on this type of table…”

Leaning on this type of table isn’t safe, because this type of table is the foldable and simply movable type of table. As the AD, I’m supposed to be minimizing and getting rid of hazards, so this was a stupid mistake.

Getting up, I looked behind me to see who was talking. “Kizaki-san.”

With a clumsy grin on her cute, round, little face, she sent a heartwarming look my way. Oddly enough, I smiled. And she giggled, replying: “You are…Yagami-san, the AD?”

“Yagami Kumi. It’s nice to make your acquaintance.” I answered the question.

“Kizaki Yuria.” She said with a happy look on her face.

Finding one actress coming over to where I was, the others followed. Kinoshita and Kimoto looked at me in a curious manner.

The first broadly grinned and looked at the nametag that I wore, “Yagami Kumi, eh? Hehe, I’m glad you’re an AD since somehow you’d be a hard rival to overcome…not that I don’t like strong opponents. Kinoshita Yukiko, at your service.”

“…eh?”

“You have nice sharp wolf eyes and I must say that you’re quite pretty.” I didn’t really understand the compliment.

“…okay.”

“I’m Kimoto Kanon.” I was already aware of her name, but Kimoto introduced herself anyways.

For a second, I took out my cell phone and looked at the time. The break should be wrapping up already. Sakai, the 2nd AD, is helping notify everyone about that. Looking at the organized chaos, I sighed and smiled before turning to the actresses and saying, “Break time’s over.”

Once again, we gathered everyone up into their positions. Silence on the set fell into place. The sound rolled. The camera rolled. The clapper clapped with the information of scene and take. The director yelled action and the filming started again.

The first day of filming ended in no time. Then again, with this job, I have less free time even though without the job, I’d be stuck searching for a job and be stuck with too much empty time.

As people started leaving in groups to go out and eat together, maybe celebrate a successful first day, I stayed behind in a lounge area. There might’ve been a bit more work that was left over to do.

I sat at a desk with a bunch of schedules and such in front of me. The budget was fine (for now it seemed). The weather doesn’t really affect the filming, but the weather is predicted to be good for the next few days.

Sighing, I rested my head on the cold, hard table. It wasn’t comfortable at all. I lifted my head up again and felt the urge to just sleep. I mumbled incoherently to myself and got up in order to brew some coffee to stay awake despite the lack of action.

Walking slowly, I felt the feeling of boredom catch up to me. In the end, I think I should probably take a break for a little bit. I didn’t have much left to do, so that could be finished later. First, coffee comes along.

I stood by a coffee vending machine and waited for the coffee to finish pouring out after I pressed the button. It finished and I took a sip of the liquid prepared by the machine. It was warm, kind of hot. Despite having added a creamer and sweetener, it didn’t taste that nice. I guess coffee’s not my thing.

Going back to the lounge area, I sat down again and was about to get back to work. The coffee was gone into the land where much coffee goes to.

Suddenly, a creak sounded from the door. Someone was coming in. She seemed surprised that the lights were on and I was still in the room. Getting a better view, it turned out to be Kizaki.

“Yagami-san, you’re still here?” She tilted her head in question as she saw that I was still here now that it was somewhat late.

“…I’m just about to leave. Kizaki-san, did you leave something here or something?” Even though I wasn’t just about to leave, I said that I was.

She pondered on that thought for a few seconds before responding with a grin, “Yea, I left my cell phone here. Yagami-san, have you eaten yet?” She went to pick up her cell phone.

“No, I only had a cup of coffee.” I replied with all honesty. Actually about that cup of coffee…I guess I shouldn’t say the fate of that coffee.

She sheepishly giggled and smiled towards me, “I haven’t either and since it’s kind of lonely eating out by oneself, I was thinking about inviting you.”

The statement was basically an invitation. It was basically an invitation to a meal. Thinking about it, I was somewhat hungry. A growl suddenly escaped both of our stomachs and at the same time, we both lightly blushed.

“…I guess, let’s go eat out together?” Somehow, I ended up being the one taking the initiative to ask her out to eat. “Family restaurant?”

“Hehe… Okay.” Her smile seemed so natural at that moment.

I got all my stuff and it seemed that we were ready to go. For some reason, I feel surprised that I’m going out to eat with her. After all, we don’t really know each other besides working together. The two of us walked out of the building and headed towards a said type of restaurant.

Reaching the destination, we found a table to sit at.

I looked at the menu and decided that I was fine with katsu curry. Kizaki was still browsing through the choices. Her thinking expression was really cute. I softly chuckled to myself, happy to observe a view that most people might not be able.

She looked up innocently and looked at me with confusion. I waved my hands signaling that there was nothing up and she grinned before looking at the menu again.

After a few seconds, she looked up again with her bright puppy-like eyes. “I’m done.”

Upon hearing her words, I rang the bell to call for a waiter or waitress. When the waitress came over with a notepad for taking out orders, I gave mine, “One katsu curry and…”

“One omelet rice, please.” And Kizaki finished up with hers.

“One katsu curry and one omelet rice. Okay.” The waitress jotted the orders down and confirmed with us again. Then she walked off, basically.

Now, there was a silence between the two of us. I suddenly felt the atmosphere drop. I attempted to start a conversation, “Um...So, I guess we’ll be working together for about 3 months for this drama.”

“Yea. Yoroshiku.”

“Yoroshiku, Kizaki-san.”

And then silence came again. In the end, I don’t have a single idea on what to talk about. Literally, don’t have a single idea in the context of blankness and nothingness.

In a bit, our meal arrived, but there was still that silent feeling. The waitress noticed and scurried away. I took my fork and picked up a piece of the cutlet and ate it.

“So, Kizaki-san…”

“Ah…it’s ok if you call me Yuria. Kizaki-san seems too formal somehow.” She shyly said. Well, I’m a little hesitant on that, but…

I paused for a moment and then stated, “Well, then I guess you can call me Kumi. I’ll be calling you Yuria-san.”

“Ok. Kumi-san then.” Yuria grinned.

Afterwards, we chatted about the strangest topics and ate our food together. Though we kind of fought over who would pay for the bill, the end result was the splitting of the bill between the two of us.

As we left the restaurant, it seemed that we were going to walk separate ways. She waved goodbye to me and yelled ‘See you tomorrow!’ in a very happy manner. In return, I smiled and calmly replied, “Get enough sleep since we’ll be doing a lot of work tomorrow as well!”

Quickly enough, I boarded the metro-train thing and reached my stop. Getting home, unlocking my door in order to get in and then locking it again to lock the bad people out, I suddenly stopped.

Oh…sh**, I forgot to finish my work… And it looked like I’d have to do it in the middle of the night now.

kuro-san: I'm glad you think Kuusan is funny~

The pacing of this fanfic seems kind of off, but I hope I'll be able to fix it eventually~ Here's the second chapter! (Please comment, it makes me very happy, but I'm also happy when I know people are reading this and enjoying it, so that being said~. Everyone who pressed Thank You gets a hug~ And kuro-san gets an imaginary cake.)

Take II

Like the previous day, filming was continuing. Once again, flipping through the script, I saw how it was. As of now, at least Nakanishi had introduced himself in the drama. He was unfortunately hit on the head with a drum (it was acted out) and he blacked out for a bit. Somehow it seemed like a harem anime at certain points.

“So, Nakanishi-kun, are you going to be a ghost member?” Without a second’s pause, Nozomi asked bluntly.

He stumbled along his lines so naturally just as the script noted to, “Eh-eh…I didn’t come here to be one…”

Andrea suddenly grabbed some drum sticks and pointed them at the boy. “Ok! Then show me your guts!”

Of course those props were there in the first place, noting continuity, and it was a club room for the so called band and bands have drum sticks some times.

Yuria Peace cheered in the background for the girl who seemed to be the leader.

Then he said, “But…I play guitar.”

Everyone fell over in the manzai style upon hearing so. Even though this is Nagoya, we’re doing a Kansai type of thing. It wasn’t done perfectly, but at least it was done safely. Nakanishi awkwardly looked on to the scene.

Getting up, Andrea pretended that nothing ever happened and coughed twice to clear her throat. “…Bring a guitar tomorrow… We don’t have one right now.”

Then Peace innocently said, “Really bu-”

“Shh. I don’t think we should bring that up.” Nozomi whispered, cutting Peace off.

“Well, I guess that’s it for today.” Andrea walked opened the door and walked out.

Following after their leader, Peace (cutely) scurried out. Then Nozomi followed afterwards leaving Nakanishi along in the room. He sighed and took a seat before looking towards the window.

Though I didn’t mention this before, the window was broken because his entry was coming through the window. Luckily, we only had to do one take for that moment…because…the budget… We actually had to buy brand new instruments. I sob in my heart.

“Cut!”

“Check the gate!”

All that calling was finished without much trouble. At this point, the filming hasn’t had any problems either. The next few scenes, chronologically, is an offsite shooting, so that’s to be done later.

I yawned inconspicuously for a second. It’s still the beginning, so I shouldn’t be feeling like dozing off. I should probably not forget to do my work next time.

As everyone was moving around to get onto the next scene in this setting, I saw a certain strange glimmer on the floor. Rubbing my eyes once, I looked at the glimmer again. Such a thing seemed like a sign of bad luck somehow.

Yuria was walking over and smiled when she looked at me. Ah, she’s so cute.

At such timing, I realized. The glimmer on the floor would most probably mean something like a wet floor. I wondered to myself for a millisecond, shouldn’t there be a wet floor sign?

Of course, that wasn’t the time to be thinking that.

I ran over without thinking much about it and then she started to slipped. “Watch out!” And with a boom sound as a body hit the floor it died down. The end result of all that was as I ran over, she slipped and then she fell onto me meaning that I acted as a cushion.

“Kumi-san!”

For a second, I didn’t feel anything. Then a jolt of pain went through my body. Of course, this wouldn’t be a good thing to say out loud, but the weight of a human body pressed on me. There was…also something soft. Wait…could it be?

“Itai!!” But it hurt. That’s why people set out wet floor signs. “I’m 100% fine.”

“…Yagami-san, you okay?” Andrea’s actress, Kinoshita, came over and looked at the two of us worriedly. Kimoto seemed to have brought over a first aid kit and handed it over to Yuria, even though I personally find that it’s not needed.

“100%. Max HP…” I mumbled. In truth, I was seeing stars and rubber duckies spinning around and I felt quite dizzy.

Yuria wryly giggled as she got off of me, “Kumi-san, you’re being kind of baka right now.” I feel like that’s an insult because I’m actually a graduate. I’m pretty sure Yuria is still in high school.

“Ah! You’re bleeding.” The pale idol girl pointed somewhere.

Let me guess, I scraped my knee. I kind of got to my senses and looked at my knees and they were not bleeding. Then I looked at my hands, suddenly I felt a stinging sensation. I scraped my hands. This is why people say ignorance is bliss possibly.

“I should first clean the wound, disinfect it, and…” I muttered to myself. Then I called out in order to keep everything rolling smoothly, “I really, really apologize, but due to my mishaps, right now can be considered a break time though the others will be shortened depending on situations.” This is called rearranging a schedule.

Yuria helped lift me up, though it’s not necessary. “Kumi-san, since it’s my fault that you scraped your hands, let me help you.”

“No need.” I winced.

She pouted, “Mou… Kumi-san…”

“…Ok…” I slightly reluctantly mumbled.

The two of us walked off and to the bathroom. If anyone doesn’t understand why, it’s to clean my hands and then to disinfect the wound. I turned on the cold water faucet and rinsed my wounds.

I winced as I felt the sharp stinging pain in my hands as well as the coldness of the water. “Kch…”

“Kumi-san, are you ok?” Yuria worriedly asked with puppy eyes. She had a look that wrote that she seemed to think that it might be her fault.

“…Yea, I’m ok.” I grinned.

“…So…” She awkwardly started a question.

“…What do we do next?” To be blunt, I have no idea. First of all, I don’t get injured often. Plus, it’s a first for me to scrape my hands like this.

“…That, I have…no idea.” She looked away with a crooked smile. Ah… Yuria is kawaii… But…

The two of us were silent. Taking too long on this would be bad, but not doing it correctly would be bad as well. It might just overthinking, but, as of now Yagami Kumi and Kizaki Yuria are stuck.

Without the two of us noticing, a cute baby-faced girl with long black hair and a penguin hoody had walked into the bathroom as well. She looked at the two of us with a shy yet heartwarming smile and large eyes.

Seeing my wound and the first aid box as well as the fact that the two of us weren’t doing anything, she walked over and quietly mumbled, “…you…do…”

“Sorry, I couldn’t hear what you were just saying?” I curiously tilted my head to the side.

“…You…” And she repeated in a slightly louder voice that was still quite soft.

Continuing, the girl explained what we were supposed to do when bandaging the scrape and all of that, still in her soft voice. Yuria followed the directions and somehow we managed to do it with the girl’s help even though it didn’t look all that pretty.

Finishing up, Yuria and I looked at the bandaging in awe before turning back to thank the girl, “Thank you…um…”

“…You’re welcome, Kumi…Yuria…I’m…N…doi…Saya…a.” She smiled kindly. I couldn’t catch most of the girl’s name sadly.

“?” Just as I was about to say something else, she seemingly disappeared. ”Eh?”

“…Kumi-san, did she just disappear?” Yuria looked somewhat pale for some reason.

“I don’t know…”

Yuria shuddered, “What if she was a ghost?”

In return I chuckled, “Well, she was a kind ghost then…” In truth, I don’t believe in ghosts or at least I hope they don’t exist. Because, they are depicted as scary.

“Yea, if we ever see her again, let’s ask her to be our friend.” A childish request, but still that was something that I had in the back of my mind as well.

But, I do wonder how she disappeared just like that. I looked up and noticed a clock. Realizing the time, I suddenly yelped, “But we should get back now!”

“That’d be nice…friends…” I thought I heard something, so I turned around only to find nothing.

Hearing the urgency in my voice, Yuria straightened up. And then the two of us hurried back to the set, just in time barely we made it. Fumbling around, I got to work with the help of Sakai-san, the 2nd AD.

We went through a number of scenes and after a few hours of filming and such, the filming work for today was miraculously finished in time. After cleaning up, everyone headed to a large room.

It was for a review meeting and all the crew and cast found a seat in the appropriate sections. First, they scolded me for getting injured and throwing things off a bit. Though it was good how I had patched it up, we were supposed to be more careful next time.

“Kizaki-san, try to loosen your face.” They noted that about Yuria. It may be true, when she sincerely smiles, her round face lights up happily, but sometimes it feels stiff when she’s forcing it.

Towards the quite beautiful Kinoshita, they noted, “Make sure to get enough rest.” Considering the fact that she had a lot of photo-shoots as a model (most likely), she may have less time to sleep after all.

That continued on with a lighter mood than normally expected as there wasn’t much trouble it seemed. Though I did get scolded in the end, which made me felt like a puppy that did something bad.

But, did I do something bad?

Finally finishing that up, everyone left to go home or get some dinner. I as well decided to leave this day instead of stay behind to do work that I could just do at home.

As I exited the building, Yuria smiled and waved to me, “Bye bye, Kumi-san.”

“Ah…bye.” And I replied before heading my way.

So, now…I need to think of what to eat for dinner. Something easy should be fine, cup noodle…?

Arigatou for the comments and the thanks!! <3

Take III

Someone…and I were waiting for some ice cream we had ordered to come, and she asked, “Kuuchan~ how are you?”

“…Eh…?” There was a tint of shock in my voice towards the unexpected question. “Urm… happy… I’m happy because Nee-chan is here…” And then I answered very simply.

“…Let’s……go to a…concert…” She smiled, I don’t know who that nee-san was, but it was an airheaded and warm smile. Though…she seemed like an incomprehensible person.

Everything turned black for a second. The world spun around and finally flipped over, face flat. A felt a painful pressure on my face and feeling dizzy, I mumbled incoherently:

“…I want to go to a concert…too…” I felt the drool dripping out of my mouth and got up, fighting against my drowsiness. The warmness of the carpeted floor that I had fallen onto along with my blanket didn’t help at all.

Barely getting up, I raised my arm and felt around on the little table that I put next to the bed. I grabbed onto the flat rectangular prism that was a phone and collapsed on the warm ground with my blanket once again.

I don’t--I do not--want to get up.

The time, I should check it. If it’s still early, I can just go back to sleep. And thus, I pressed a few random buttons on the phone in sleepiness and dropped the phone next to my head. The time is…

…9:15 in the morning.

I commence an imaginary spit take in my mind and start to choke on my saliva. Without checking to look at the time on the phone another time, I wiped my drool and jumped up shakily. The sun is a liar because it didn’t wake me up. “GAAHHHH!!!!”

Forgetting about that, I threw off my pajama shirt and grabbed the clothes I had planned to wear for today and put them onto my bed. Then I scrambled downstairs and popped some bread into the toaster.

As I waited for that to finish, I ran into my bathroom, though tripping onto the carpeted stairs twice. I did what normal people do in bathrooms, cough cough. And also, splashed my face with cold, cold water--and it was chilly, like ice cubes.

Pop! The toast is ready. I ran down again and took out the strawberry jam and spread it. Taking a big bite out of it, I munched and left the toast on a plate.

I feel like this is very bad. I grabbed a cup and filled it with water as I applied toothpaste to my toothbrush. As I started to brush, I grabbed the shirt and jacket I planned to wear today and put them on. Truthfully, I wanted to wear a skirt, but pants are fine as well. I grabbed some dark pants and put them on top of my PJs.

I brushed my teeth cleanly and thoroughly--hopefully--and took the cup of water, gargled, and spit out the water with all the toothpasty stuff. Looking in the mirror, my hair was a mess and there was a line left by drool still.

“AGHHH!!!” I’m completely late.

I hastily brushed my hair as I washed my face. The second I thought I looked fine for work, I dropped the brush and towel into the hopefully appropriate places and ran down again after grabbing my phone.

Taking up the toast, I put it in my mouth to eat like an anime character and rushed out the door, of course after grabbing a binder and some mints for later.

Right, I forgot my shoes. Darn, my socks are dirty. I ran back in and took off the socks, slipping into some sneakers.

Riding the train might be too slow. Okay, I have my wallet in here. This is my luck today!!!! Taxi! Taxi! Taxi!!! Why would a taxi be here in a residential area such as this, remind me again? But….!!!

The supposedly yellow car that carries people around for a fee, for some reason I see one without anyone in it. I waved out and called for the taxi and it stopped. (This person is very glad as she never rides these and based off of the American New York dramas, taxis will ignore people many times and just drive away.)

“Where to?”

“Sunshine Sakae Studios, **************” I blurted out the address rapidly. As if hearing me clearly, the driver nodded a few times before saying:

“Okay, I got it.”

Hearing the confirmation, I sighed and loosened up a bit, taking another bite of the toast. I quickly finished my small breakfast.

This is the first time in a taxi for as long as I can remember. The seats are somewhat hard and the inside of the car is quite dark just like many other cars out there. I felt the urge to fall asleep again, but the cool air conditioning that wasn’t completely needed kept me awake.

After a few minutes, I arrived at the destination. The driver told me the amount I needed to pay and I quickly paid--giving the driver a tip in the process. As soon as I finished, I raced out the taxi and headed to the set.

I’m late, I’m late, and I’m so late; this is bad, bad, bad. I should’ve arrived at least an hour earlier. The sun seemed dim today, but I ignored that completely as I raced to stairs and galloped up a few flights of stairs while clinging on to my stuff.

Barging in, I was panting quite hard and started to rapidly sweat. The small amount of people in the room stared at me strangely. Yuria giggled and noted, “Kumi-san, you’re here early.”

I’m early? I looked up at the clock and it read, 5:00 in the morning. That meant that I woke up at 4:15, reading the 4 incorrectly as a 9 and died.

All life drained out of my body at that second and I fell to the ground depressed. One could see my soul flying out of my mouth at that moment.

Noting that I was in the way of the door, a certain beautiful model walked in and nearly tripped on me as I wasn’t finished with my moment of depression. A thin hand grabbed the model’s wrist before she injured herself.

I got up and looked back. It was the DP, Ogiso. “…sorry.”

“It’s ok. No one got hurt.” Kinoshita kindly responded before chuckling, “…though you look kind of stressed right now.“

Ogiso just sighed and sent a look towards me. Because, I messed up so badly and nearly caused someone important to hurt herself--that might’ve been one reason. But seeing the friendly interaction between the actress and the camera-girl, I could clearly see another reason to be mad.

“…I woke up today at 4:15 thinking it was 9:15…” I sheepishly muttered and looked away. “Really, I’m sorry, Kinoshita-san…”

“No, no, it’s okay. I didn’t get hurt after all.”

The small faced DP clearly frowned at me. Then the two walked away to a different place in the room. A smile and warmth appeared on the faces of those two; they really got along it seemed, though I never noticed until today.

It’d be a waste to just go back and of course, chances are that I won’t be able to go to sleep even if I went back home. Thus, the simple conclusion is to check the weather again as we should be doing off-set filming today and filling a couple of things--after sitting down of course.

Agh…I feel so stupid.

“Kumi-san?” I heard Yuria’s voice call out to me.

Groggily nodding, I mumbled, “Yea?”

“…Are you okay?”

“…I’m…stupid…and sleepy…” Depression…I feel like a moron for mistaking the time for something 5 hours later than it really was. Ok, 4 and 9 do not look that alike on my phone at all.

And then she pouted, puffing up her cute face, and retorted with something I’ve never heard before, “Mou… Kumi-san, you’re not stupid, you’re just sleepy!” I wonder if she messed up in some kind of alternate universe and called me stupid not sleepy.

Hearing Yuria’s encouragement, I giggled.

“Mou… Kumi-san, if you’re sleepy, why’d you come so early…?” Yuria asked with a slight blush on her face--tsundere look alert?

Too lazy to reply clearly, I put my head on the table that I was sitting at and lifted my head up again, “…misread my clock…”

She stifled a laugh. Such a cruel girl…laughing at my sleep deprivation.

 “What about you?”

“Well, I’m supposed to learn how to play an instrument once a sensei comes.”

“What for?” I know I was forgetting something, but I couldn’t think of it.

“…For the drama you silly, I’m in a band.”

I slammed my head into the table feeling idiotic again over the fact that despite being AD and having read through everything so many times that I forgot. Sleep deprivation makes people negative. “…what………instrument…..?”

“Eh… Kumi-san, are you okay? …um…I’m supposed to do the saxophone for some reason.”

The sax, I remember playing that when I was younger. The golden instrument that was…blowy--that was the sax as far as I remember.

Slapping myself on the cheeks twice, I checked my phone for the weather, which incidentally was nice and well, which is good since today is the day of off-set filming and the last day for the first episode. Finishing up that, I turned around in my seat and stared at the round, tanned Yuria.

She stared back awkwardly. And bored, I looked down from her face to her outfit and such, which ended in, “Kumi-san! Are you being a pervert!?” She hid her chest away from me, behind her arms.

“Eh!??” I yelped in surprise and my gaze naturally went up to her face and down to her chest. Well, she was attracting my attention; I get distracted easily by her!

“KUMI-SAN NO ECCHI!!” And the next moment I felt a stinging pain in my cheek.  (TTATT) Why do I have to get slapped???? “Eh…gomen…”

“…I’m…okay…” I murmured as I melted onto the table sleepily feeling the throbbing feeling of my cheek.

Looking to Ogiso, she smirked and giggled at the scene of Yagami Kumi. Kinoshita wasn’t paying attention and happily chatting with that small faced DP.

For half an hour, we just sat there not doing much and idling around. The thing is that the filming is done in the afternoon because of the actresses’ schedules, even so if I were late as in 10:00 AM late, that’d be bad because the Director-san said I had to despite the fact that otherwise I’d actually have the time off. It’s probably because people want to drag this AD person into helping with the editing for some reason.

The thing is that despite not needing formal qualifications for this, there’s all that other stuff like maybe getting a driver’s license and Safety ****** training course once in a while, which I don’t mind, but that takes up time.

Dying, I laid my cheek on the coldness of the table that soon absorbed my body heat. My hands are kind of healed up, but are still kind of wrapped up, though I almost forgot about that because how easy it is to still do stuff.

I sighed.

“Excuse me…” A creaking sound came from the door and a light voice accompanied with light footsteps rang out into the considerably quiet set. I looked to see who it was, guessing that the new person was the sax sensei.

I raised my eyebrow upon seeing that person. The meek, short black haired woman, I definitely know her. She wore a nametag that wrote [Saxophone Teacher] and down below was,

“…I am…Hata Sawako…um…the saxophone teacher…may I ask, who is Kizaki Yuria-san?” She sent a shy glance towards me before looking around. I know this Hata.

Yuria got up. “Oh, that’s me.”

I guess they’ll leave to do the lesson. I think everyone else--minus Kimoto--already knows how to play their respective instruments. At least, that’s what should be correct.

Well, it’s not my problem… Right? But still, this’ll be a long day…

Take IV

“…Kuu…ch…n…” A soft voice whispered in the darkness.

A girl stepped out of the darkness and spoke to the one where it was pitch black. “Are you worried?”

“…Un…” The soft voice’s owner followed out, she seemed nearly see through and she wore a penguin hoodie. Her large eyes were hidden slightly behind the hood and her bangs, but they seemed to reflect a worry.

“…something bad…is going to happen…?” The girl asked.

“……” The only response that came was silence.

“…I don’t like her…making you worry.”

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

I sneezed for some reason. The first episode has finished and been wrapped up. While it may seem shocking that someone my age has an actual house, I’m sitting in my house’s living room watching TV. Showing is that strange drama.

Despite being part of the production, I felt the urge to change the channel. I reached for the remote, but stopped. The show was starting. The opening was a song sung by the idol group that Kimoto is in.

Up until the point that Yuria doesn’t show up, I watched it. Her cute awkward smiles and her round face as well as her large doggy eyes were all so cute. To be blunt, I must be a bad AD for this, but I’m not so interested in watching the drama for now especially since I’ve enjoyed the story a few times through while reading the scripts.

Right now, it’s quite late at night or rather extremely early in the morning might be the right way to say it. The drama was a late night drama, so what would one expect? It was a surprise that I actually bothered to watch it.

I’m tired. Today…is Saturday. That meant that I had two more days of rest. Because, it’s basically a few minutes after Saturday started. And this was quite unhealthy, to stay up so late.

Feeling tired, I rolled around on the carpet. The fact of the matter was that I wasn’t able to fall asleep. I turned off the TV. I yawned and stretched out my arms. But, the thing is that I’m tired yet can’t fall asleep.

I got up and put on a light jacket and some sneakers and headed out. Nearby was a convenience store and considering the fact that I had nothing else to do and don’t keep snacks in the house most of the time--meaning I don’t have anything to munch on and get fat on when I’m bored, I went out (of course after turning off all the lights and locking the door).

The night was somewhat cool. The sky was blue-ish and the moon was bright and round. Most people don’t seem to be awake right now. I jogged along, breathing in the fresh air. This was so much better than the stuffy indoors, but at the same time weather just didn’t agree with me.

All of a sudden, it started to rain. Okay, so the weather forecast said that it’d be partly cloudy and a 20% chance of precipitation. Rain is equivalent to I’m to be drenched and that’s equal to a cold. Before I was completely drenched I ran and ran and ran to the convenience store and went under the little roof.

My jacket was soaked and my hair was considerably wet. This is cold. I shivered as I took off the jacket. Finding that taking a soaking wet jacket around would be bad, I squeezed out the water I could squeeze out a held in draping over one arm. Then, like a dog, I shook my hair and got some of the water out.

I looked towards the bright light from the convenience store. Considering that I was here, I decided that I might as well do what I planned and maybe get a new umbrella.

Roaming around, I found myself where the manga and new books were. I automatically moved my gaze over to the new manga magazine that had been released. I picked it up and began browsing through, reading the next chapter of a certain manga that I had recently fallen for.

Someone else had come over and picked up a manga, One Piece to be exact, while I was burying my head in the magazine. The two of us were immersed in the manga reading for quite a bit. After a bit of time, I finished.

Raising my head up and putting the magazine down, I looked towards the other reader. She finished as well. Slightly tanned skin, round cheeks, large eyes, it was Yuria.

“Yuria-san?” “Kumi-san?”

“You live around here?” We both asked at the same time. That probably meant that we both did live in this area. I giggled and she grinned.

“Well, I’m going to buy some snacks…” I paused and looked out the window, “and probably an umbrella.”
She nodded and stated, “I guess I’ll follow you.”

Thus, I walked around the store with a cute Yuria following behind me. In the end, I got some cookies and chips as well as some strange gummies that she had convinced me to buy.

When we went over to the umbrella area, there was surprisingly only one left. It was a small black umbrella and when I picked it up, it was quite heavy.

I looked at Yuria; she didn’t seem to have an umbrella either. Her hair was slightly wet and I could see the shine coming from the reflecting lights and the water. There were chances that she did have an umbrella and just left it in the umbrella rack outside though, so I left that topic at that.

The two of us headed to the cash register. There weren’t many people considering the time and the cashier seemed somewhat sleepy. Checking out with a few setbacks--me struggling to find my wallet and the cashier falling asleep--the two of us headed out of the convenience store.

“Yuria…you don’t have an umbrella do you?”

“…urm…”

“…Seriously… Okay, let’s share this one…Where’s your house?”

“It’s…” She ended up telling me the address and it turned out that the place was quite far away from my place. This was an unlucky situation. The rain wasn’t letting up and actually it seemed to be getting heavier.

“Okay, I’ll first send you home.” Considering the fact that I was the older one as well as the one with the umbrella, I should do at least this much.

“Ah… Thanks.”

“No problem.”

That led to the two of us heading towards her house. Yuria led the way as I held the umbrella. The heavy rain was pitter-pattering like the end of the world. A number of large puddles had already formed and they were going down the drain.

I noticed that our shoulders were getting slightly wet. Of course, that’d happen. This umbrella was only made for one person. Plus, it was pretty cheap.

Noticing that we were getting wet, Yuria looked up to me questioningly. Did she wonder if I didn’t want to send her home? I have nothing against it at least.

“…Kumi-san…Since we’re getting wet like this, should we huddle together under this umbrella a bit closer together?” Yuria shyly fidgeted like a small animal…kawaii.

Without a second thought, I agreed. “Okay.” I mean, what’s so bad about not getting soaked?

Well, of course I figured out why one would be shy about that the next moment. Okay, normal people wouldn’t really notice, but then again, who was a normal person in this world?

Yuria pressed against my shoulder. I could feel her warmth from just this. We huddled closer together and it felt so soft. Urm…soft…yes. I attempted to ignore the bad omens. Luck was here this time around. I could feel Yuria pressing against me, trying to avoid the rain.

Well…this is life isn’t it? (Kumi, this isn’t life. In the end, you have a lack of awareness in this subject.)

The two of us walked along. Our feet splashed water where puddles had formed and with luck, no cars ran by meaning that we wouldn’t have to suffer being splashed by such a situation.

I could hear a hard beating against the umbrella. The rain was really raining hard. As I held the umbrella, I felt my arms gradually get tired, but just kept on going. With a few minutes or so, we reached a somewhat large house with a nice metal fence if it didn’t seem so dark in the weather.

I looked towards Yuria. This was the address that she said. “Is this it?”

She bobbed her head up and down like a squirrel, “Yea.”

The two of us went up to the doorstep. Getting wet after coming all this way with an umbrella was kind of stupid after all. The doorstep did have a roof, so I closed up the umbrella for a tiny bit. She knocked on the door and the next moment I could hear footsteps.

A kind looking middle aged woman opened the door; she was probably Yuria’s mother. With a smile, she welcomed us in, “Yuri~a, you’re back…and it looks like you have a friend accompanying you.”

“Mom… yea, yea. I just went out for a short bit you know?”

“Uh-huh… well, come on in.” Kizaki-mama grinned and motioned for us to come in. “You too, um…”

“Kumi, Yagami Kumi…But actually…I wouldn’t want to intrude…I planned to head back after sending Yuria-san over anyways…”

“…Hmm…okay then. But…the weather’s not looking too good…”

“Thanks for the concern, but I think I’ll pro-” I was cut off right there by a sudden large boom of thunder and a bright flash of lightning. That wasn’t the worst part, but a loose branch from somewhere flew into the back of my head. “-bably…be fine…”

That hurt you know!? My luck just ran out right there. I sighed as the two looked at me worriedly. Then another large branch came flying to the same target. Really…isn’t this dangerous to be hit in the head like this? (Luckily, this Kumi-san has a 99.99% chance of not actually being injured.)

“…Are you okay…Kumi-san…?”

“…On second thought…Could I take shelter here until the rain stops…?”

“Yagami-chan, come on in.” The mother welcomed me in. Without any choices, I gratefully stepped in and took off my shoes. “Let me take the umbrella and put it somewhere.”

“Ah, thanks.”

“There’s no problem. Now Yuria will accompany you~ Well, it’s somewhat late at night so she’ll probably have to set out a futon or something…” Then, Kizaki-mama walked away like a joyful young girl, leaving me to Yuria it seemed.

Yuria looked at me awkwardly. I returned that gaze. With an awkward silence, the two of us headed upstairs to what seemed to be her room.

She seemed somewhat red. “…Yuria-san, you should make sure that you’re dried…” Don’t catch a cold, I tried to say indirectly.

“…Kumi-san, you should worry about that more so than me…” She mumbled.

We walked into her room. It was filled with a number of interesting things that I was not able to suck in when Kizaki-mama came in and said, “I checked the weather report and it’s going to continue raining until noon. Yagami-chan, you can stay over tonight.”

Yuria pushed me out and forcefully said, “I have spare pajamas… it’d be bad if you stayed in that wet clothing…” Then she handed me a full body wolf pajama.

Then she locked me out of her room. Kizaki-mama saw and giggled, “Hehe…that girl’s being shy… Well, Yagami-chan, take good care of Yuria for me.” I could see the eyes of a caring mother.

“Eh? I will…”

“You don’t understand…but you will. Now go ahead and change out of that wet clothes, there’s a bathroom right next to you.”

They’re such nice and homely people. Kizaki-mama’s warmer than my parents combined. “Ah…thanks…”

Then she came over and whispered, “Yuria doesn’t actually have that many friends…Yagami-chan…I know that you’re a reliable and kind girl…So, take care of her when I’m not there…” Yups, Kizaki-mama is a wonderful mother.

A flash of lightning and thunder stormed.

I changed into the warm and soft wolf pajama and Yuria was just dressed in normal pajamas actually. “…There aren’t any spare futons…so we’ll have to share a bed…” She fidgeted.

“Uh-huh…” It’s just going to be a little cramped.

“You’re a baka you know?” Yuria pouted.

“…eh….” I moaned.

“Hrmph~”

“Well…let’s sleep now?”

We shut off the lights and were about to get into bed when thunder rumbled once again with a flash of lightning. Yuria whimpered and jumped into the bed. Not knowing what to do, I just simply hugged her with my furry wolf arms.

“Oyasumi…”

And…somehow, the two of us managed to fall asleep peacefully…Even though it was so late--early. Yuria’s sweet scent and her warmth lulled me to sleep with a smile on my face.

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

Elsewhere, there was a phone call being made. The storm wasn’t that bad in that place and it was at most just a light drizzle. Unfortunately for the two young girls, it wasn’t so, but the phone call’s origin was just drizzling lightly.

“Yagami-san, I’d like to report that your daughter is…”

I wonder what will happen?
(I'm seriously asking this as I only have the moment where things escalate, explode, and then die down...)
I hope no one gets too caught up in things being unrealistic like I do since... some things are just naturally unrealistic and unlikely to happen... Well, I hope you enjoyed this chapter! And~ please do comment/leave a sign~ :)

sidny48: I'm sorry for being so slow! Here's the update.
I feel as if it would be better in 3rd person, but unfortunately, this fic will continue to be in 1st person.
There are two versions of it, the one on AFF and the one here, so the updating will be kind of slower now that the plots are beginning to go in different directions. Now~ enjoy!

Take V

I woke up feeling some sort of pressure on my body as well as a gentle warmth. Yuria was peacefully sleeping on my stomach. I felt like I shouldn’t breathe or else I would interrupt her sleep, but quickly gave up on that.

She was letting out a slight bit of drool and happily enjoying the softness of the lent pajamas. Well, Yuria was cute. From what I could see in my position, the sun was up. The sun was up and the rain had quite obviously stopped.

Now I was kind of embarrassed on intruding into this household and spending the night especially since I can’t say that Yuria and I were all that close. Plus, I also borrowed pajamas and Yuria had to share a bed with me.

I quietly stared up at the ceiling, finding the place very quiet and peaceful. Then, I realized that it was probably already around noon or maybe in the afternoon. The wonderfully cute actress was still asleep or it seemed.

Yuria let out a childish sounding groan as she rolled off my stomach. Luckily, not off the bed. I yawned. Then, Yuria mumbled randomly, “…Edible…Good morning…”

I held my breath for a moment, but then replied. “Good morning, Yuria-san.” I couldn’t help but giggle. She reminded me of a little animal…not a parrot, probably.

The actress rubbed her eyes drowsily and stared at me for a second. I felt like drool was escaping from her lips. They looked soft and smooth--not the drool of course.

“…Eh…Kumi-san?”

“Yes. Good morning, Yuria-san.” I repeated. It’s definitely not morning though.

“Right…it’s 4 PM.” She pointed out drowsily.

In the first place, she was the one who said good morning though. “Okay…”

The two of us exchanged glances and were silent. Then, I heard the sound of footsteps outside the room. I guess it was Kizaki-mama. I guessed correctly. Yuria’s mother opened the door and saw the two of us awake.

“Oh, you two are awake.”

“Uh-huh.”

“I have lunch made downstairs. Yagami-chan, your clothes is in a pile outside the room, all your other stuff is in the closet downstairs--Yuria’ll show you. I have to go now. Enjoy your time, you two~~”

Then, she left, closing the door behind her. I wonder what Kizaki-mama was expecting us to enjoy though. Yuria’s mother seemed like a very imaginative and young person. To tell the truth, I planned to leave at first though.

It seemed that Yuria was still groggy because she started to change her clothes when I was still right there. She slipped off her pajama shirt and I could totally see… I immediately turned my head away in embarrassment.

This is the end of the world for me… (>////<) !!!!! Considering that I’m an AD who’ll be working with this Kizaki Yuria for a few months, this was no lie.

The fact of the matter is that I’m feeling like a pervert. Her skin looked so smooth…and…and…YAGAMI GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF!! For the sake of safety I slapped myself a few times on the cheeks. Somehow, I must’ve watched too many weird shows or hung around too many strange people even though I don’t hang around with friends that much anymore.

Slowly, I escaped the room and grabbed my clothes, it looks like Kizaki-mama washed and dried them as well. I went ahead and went to get dressed and ready for the day basically.

Somehow, all went well. Just somehow, I managed to avoid getting slapped in the face while being called a pervert this time around.

We went down to eat the lunch/breakfast that Kizaki-mama had kindly prepared. There were two servings and all. She’s such a kind woman. I innerly sobbed as I ate. Yuria just laughed while watching my strangeness.

Oddly enough, we weren’t able to strike up a conversation properly after finishing eating. When I stared at the girl, she’d avert her gaze awkwardly. I wondered why. Staring is kind of rude, so I stopped doing that after a while.

“Yuria-san, so…what are you going to do today?” In a strangely stalker-like manner, I casually inquired. Truthfully, I’d feel a bit guilty leaving her alone--I kind of understand how it feels being lonely sometimes. Plus, her mother said for the two of us to enjoy our time, so leaving now might be bad.

She pondered a bit and replied, “Hmm…I guess…I don’t know…How about Kumi-san?”

For some unknown reason, the ball was suddenly passed to me. “Um…I guess I was just planning to hang around maybe? I mean…it might be lonely at home alone and all…”

“Hehe, so Kumi-san is lonely?” She let her mouth curl up slightly.

I let out a smile. “Hrm…maybe it’s so.” Maybe I was lonely. I have no idea since I was satisfied with such a life already.

“Then~ let’s talk and maybe go out for a walk since the weather seems nice.”

“Okay.” I’m sorry for deciding to leave the random snacks here, Kizaki-mama, hopefully they don’t get all stale or something.

For some reason, I had a bad premonition that things would be going in a circle. We went out of the house. The ground was kind of damp, but surprisingly enough, the air was cool and fresh and clear.

There were a few puddles here and there. Of course, there was the urge to jump in them. I didn’t do that though. Yuria eyed them like a child, but seeing me walk over them, she didn’t jump into them. It’s been said that Japan in the country of children after all, so it’s either we’re just really childish for our age or it’s just that hidden urge that everyone has.

“Hey…what’s your favorite food?” We were silent for a bit until Yuria asked out of nowhere.
Surprised by the sudden question, I forced out an awkward answer. “That’s kind of random…um…sweet things and meat I guess.”

“…I like strawberry milk flavored sweets.” That was pretty detailed actually.

Going along, we chatted about strange and trivial topics. There I learned that Yuria danced, though she wasn’t exactly a dancer. She read One Piece. And a bunch of other random trivia was learnt.

We walked around and somehow reached my house. It wasn’t exactly a ‘somehow reached my house’, but we got there. The question was what to do next. As I pondered whether or not I should invite her into my house, it started raining.

I should note to self to check the weather on days without filming and such as well.

With no choice, I dragged Yuria inside. She looked around for a second, but it seemed that my house really was just kind of boring. We removed our shoes and stepped in.

She opened her mouth about to say something, but couldn’t find any words. That’s because my house is plain--the only thing that one could say is that’s it was clean.

I pointed out. “It’s raining.”

“I know.” She replied.

Then, the rain got even harder. The pitter patter sound smashed onto the ground loudly. And then, there was thunder and lightning coming down again.

The sky was obviously quite dark. The storm clouds covered the skies. I flipped the lights on and offered Yuria a seat on the couch. She sat down and I did too. It was a wonder with this situation. What to do now?

I pondered on what to do. I checked my phone for the weather and of course it said that it was raining. Also, it seemed though that the rain wasn’t going to let up until the next day also known as Sunday. I really hated the weekends where there was bad weather somehow.

As I sighed, I felt myself fall over onto the carpeted floor. Yuria crawled up behind me and more or less clung to my back. I was unprepared and fell over with my phone and Yuria on me. She stared at the weather report for a bit. The two of us rolled around on the carpet, and made a mess of our hair.

I set the phone onto the couch and got up. Yuria seemed to be bored on the carpet.

“So, Kumi-san, it’s going to rain for until tomorrow?”

“Yes. Somehow, this is an amazing situation isn’t it?”

“Kind of…so, what now?” She looked at me with large eyes.

“What do you mean what now?”

Then, suddenly, the electricity flickered and the lights went out. “Kyaaa!” She yelped and grabbed onto my waist. Yuria hugged me while showing that she was quite scared. I could feel the trembling. Unfortunately, my house didn’t have a generator.

Outside, thunder and lightning continued to strike and boom. It wasn’t that dark yet since it wasn’t night, but inside a house, it was bound to be quite dark. I smiled weirdly enough as I simply sat around with Yuria clinging to me.

I wonder what happened to nice weather--the type that made us decide to go out and walk. I grabbed my phone and set the brightness settings down to the lowest. Even like that, it would work as a flashlight.

“Yuria…um…” For the first time, I addressed her without honorifics.

In return, she casually did so as well. “Kumi…what?”

“Um, I have some flashlights somewhere, so want to go get them?”

“Uh-huh.” I somehow saw her nod.

We got to our feet and walked around. Of course as the house owner, I had a slight mental map of where things were. I walked around and went to the place where the flashlights were supposed to be. Yuria clinging onto me made it a bit troublesome, but I guess this just happened to be.

I shined the light from the phone around, but it seemed that finding the flashlights was actually a hard task. Yuria’s eyes gleamed as she looked around cautiously. The two of us walked through the room. Suddenly, I stumbled and nearly tripped over some hard instrument.

The light was directed to the thing and it was a sax--the brass instrument.

“You play the sax?”

I mumbled in response, “I used to at least...” I used to play it, but now, I only pick it up on days where I am really bored. To tell the truth, I’m out of shape--for playing it at least.

Somehow, I felt as if Yuria was grinning. “Hmm…”

“Ah! I think I found the flashlights.” I exclaimed as I sent a stream of light towards a box filled with flashlights. A tiny part of me said that I was avoiding the topic of the sax because of a few bad memories from a certain some people and stuff that should be mentioned later on…cough…parents.

Yuria nodded. I went ahead and grabbed an armful and handed some to Yuria. With a plan in mind, I flicked one on. It had batteries. It also lit up my face in a creepy manner causing Yuria to yelp and playfully slap my arm.

“…Mou, what’s with that?” I’m guilty.

I laughed. “Hehehe…well, want me to call your mom? It looks like it’d be safer to stay here…unless I’m some sort of dangerous person.”

“Maybe you are a dangerous person,” Yuria joked, “but yeah, please do so.”

“Okay~ Yuria-samaa~” I shined the flashlight at her face. Then, I went ahead and called Kizaki-mama.

She quickly agreed. I was trusted by her and of course I felt as if I shouldn’t betray that trust by doing something bad.

Well, this was going to be a long night wasn’t it? It wasn’t even that late yet. I had enough batteries to waste right now, so Yuria and I each held a flashlight. I walked around and grabbed a few bottles of water. Sadly, I didn’t really have much food.

Either way, I tossed her a bottle. “Here.”

And then, this idiot here happened to hit the actress in the head with a water bottle. “Gwah!” Luckily, it wasn’t all that hard. Somehow, I’m not sticking to my profession that well. It’s not a work day at least.

“Sorry. I’ll do something for you in return?”

“Kumi, you don’t sound sincere at all…somehow.” Yuria chuckled. “Hmm…but, well, let’s see…”

I sensed something coming up. “Yuu~ria…nothing too bad please?”

“Hmm…,” she hummed playfully.

“Hrm?”

Luckily, I didn’t decide to open a bottle and take a sip or else that would have resulted in a horrible feeling spit-take. “Teach me how to play sax.” I still nearly choked when I heard her words.

“I thought Hata-sensei was teaching you.”

“She is…but, well, can Kumi accompany me when I practice?” Yuria seemingly gulped nervously. Was that somewhat meek and humble woman bad? While I remember a few moments where I was slightly creeped out…

“Oscar!!!”

“ANDRE!!!!!!!!”

As a family friend…as well as a fellow person who did music, well…let’s just say that I saw many sides of such a person. Takarazuka might as well make me thing of her. That Hata was kind of different from other people in a possibly good way.

“If I have time...and not with your sensei around…”

“Heee…” Yuria smirked, and possibly mentally jotted something down.

Then, we walked around. Even though we went to my room, it wasn’t as if Yuria could clearly see anything there even with the flashlights. That was good because my room had a secret stash of weird idol-related things.

Of course, that’s because I like them. Even if I can’t reach my dream, I can indulge in my hobbies. Unfortunately, my parents would never approve. Luckily, they were elsewhere. I was pretty sure that they were also out of the country as well as obviously not living with me.

As I smiled as I realized how nice it was recently.

A light flashed into my face. I realized that Yuria decided to shine her flashlight into my face. I pouted and left my room.

It must’ve seemed as if I was mad and decided to leave Yuria alone in there. To tell the truth, I was just getting a futon out. I quickly came back with a bunch of white and puffy things in my arms and a few random things on top.

I don’t see how it looked like a ghost, but Yuria suddenly tackled me while screaming. Was it terrifying? That was a question I wasn’t exactly able to answer, but it looked like it. Due to luck, no one was injured, but the poor futon stuff was laid out awkwardly.

Yuria was sitting atop of me and in a kind of awkward position for me. It seemed as if anyone who walked in would see it as some sort of assault on Kumi, but there was no one in the first place. As it wasn’t my fault this time around, I escaped any slapping or unfortunate events.

“Um…hehe…,” she nervously got up.

I nodded with a blank expression.

We eventually settled down and went to bed.

I rolled around awkwardly. I had too much sleep already. After an hour or at least what seemed like that long, I heard a rustling. Looking next to me, Yuria seemed to be unable to sleep as well.

“Kumi, can I sleep with you?”

“Can’t sleep?”

“Yea.”

“…Feel free,” then I moved to the side and allowed her into my bed.

This time around, I was about to use Yuria as my pillow and eventually, the two of us fell asleep.

I heard a slight mumbling in the middle of the night, “Now, no more loneliness right?” I might’ve just been dreaming, but I unconsciously smiled and continued on to sleep.

One would want to say the end at this point, but it wasn’t the end. In truth, maybe things were starting to accelerate into what the future held. Still, it was peaceful at least and the two of us would meet again at work soon enough.

As I've said, the plots have gone into different directions.
Well, I have no clue what direction that this one will go to.
Anyways I'm more intent on updating over here: AFF version

So, I apologize, but I guess I'll just make that note right now~
I'm pretty lazy, so once I finish that version, it'll probably take another fic for me to start this version again.
So yea. Basically~ if ya wanna, do enjoy that version-just the story splits at Take V
