Chapter 1

“That was Juju and the Loaded Dice.”

Juju headed passed the sound people and dropping the microphone into the bin as she led the group to the dressing room.  It was another night for the group as Juju took a seat onto the chair followed by the group as they turned away with the open bottles of booze.  Juju turned to the five with the red eyes staring back at them when the short, black wig was taken off to the long, black hair.

Juju was the stage name for Matsui Jurina, a third-year student of the Nagoya-based elite school.  She was only in school to get the certificate which was accomplished a year ago but wasn’t given it for other reasons.  Angry at the school, she had written out her thoughts and came up with the band concept.  It seemed easy to get out and write but it took a person to take the songs from a book and made her own.

She had grown furious that her thoughts had become famous by a no name.  A no name she had trusted for the longest time and she had thought her voice had been beautiful and every song became a ballad on her album.  It was instant success and her face plastered everywhere but the album had shown the credit to her.  Jurina came out blasting out to her fans but feeling the judgment of being green.  She had recruited a no-name band and called them the “Loaded Dice.”

Jurina had been impressed by the guitarist who was boyish and seemed to have the fatal flaw of being a woman.  Seeing how she rocked out with the crowd, it brought a sense of how it would work out as someone who could rival Jurina but the two were different in the sense.  Jurina had the lead singer personality while needing the aptitude to turn on the charm.

The bassist grabbed the attention as she sat in on the performance.  Jurina always left it with the coolest character as she lurked in the darkness.  Despite being boyish too, Jurina could see that she wasn’t flawed except for when she decided to speak and it made Jurina blast out laughing in the back with her coke-filled glass lined with cheap rum.

The keyboardist laid the furthest from the stage but she had the widest smile among the group.  It was eye catching but seemingly the one who was probably holding back the group.  Jurina knew she would pick it up with her direction.  It was the same with the drummer but looking at them they were much older but the final person made her realize that she needed the band.

The front person was the beauty of the group.  Her voice had brought the girl up to heaven.  Jurina sat there watching her as she entertained the audience.  Jurina knew she would be perfect for the band.  The problem her angelic appearance had to be changed.  She drank her cocktail and headed to the back when they finished their set as Jurina glanced at the five.

“How about we make a band?”  Jurina suggested as the group laughed.

“You are a child in the business.”  The bassist pointed out when Jurina started to sing the song from a musical.  The five felt their jaws dropped as her pipes seemed to attract their attention.

“The thing is Rena will be the lead and you need to have an instrument.”  The bassist stamped down when Jurina felt the corner of her lips turned upwards.

“Rena… what do you think?”  Jurina asked as Rena pointed to herself.

The beauty had turned to the group as Jurina kept her smile.  It could have been the alcohol but she knew it wasn’t an easy deal to consider the deal that she had in mind.  Nothing seemed to be rejected since the woman had stolen her song but the lead singer had turned to Jurina.

“I think it would be better if we try out something.”  Rena had suggested when the rest rolled their eyes.

Jurina learned the names of the group.  Mieko was the drummer.  Masana was the keyboardist whom she had let Jurina be childish at times.  Yuka as the lead guitarist insisted being called Nishi.  The bassist she learned hated the idea until the name had popped up and the story of her writings had made sense after seeing the woman’s concert.  Sae narrowed her eyes as the one to be the main resistance liaison within the group.

Jurina allowed Rena to take on the role on some songs but Jurina had decided on a caveat.  Rena had also worn a wig with the messy, short black hair.  It made Jurina feels important to be seen as the front person rather than Rena as she slowly became behind Jurina as the backing vocals with the band cruising along the next gig in Nagoya.

Until Jurina had let her anger gets the best of her.

“Mie!  What the hell was that!  Throwing the beat off for everyone!”

“Masana!  You were off on every single song we did!”

“Nishi! Stop flirting with the crowd and tune your guitar!”

“Sae!  Stop being an asshole when I need to be.”

After her yelling, she had turned to Rena and lashed out at her with the wig flying off to the floor.  Jurina grabbed the whiskey bottle and taking a swig of the sweet elixir before following with a gulp of beer.  Jurina laughed allowing her frustration on the helpless group.  It was simple because Jurina had brought them to the bigger clubs than before but the group never felt infuriated at just one person.

Jurina had left the room leaving the group members as they tended to Rena as the red spot was still fresh.  Sae grabbed the ice from the fridge with the rest grabbing a can of beer for each of them.  Rena pressed against her cheek with the group opening the cans.

“How do you bear with this?”  Mieko asked downing half the beer.

“It isn’t horrible.  She just gets frustrated with all of us.”  Rena explained when Sae looked out the door.

“How about we join Mariko?”  Sae suggested with the rest turning toward her.

“That we can’t do… Jurina has gotten us here.”  Nishi patted Sae on the shoulder as Sae turned to the rest.

“I’ll leave because Rena is getting hurt and all she does is criticizing us.”  Sae snapped at the group when she turned to the door.

“If that’s how you feel!  You can get out!”

The scream rattled everyone in the room when they all took a seat.  Jurina had always explained that her frustration had always been linked to the one name.  If she had repeated once, it was repeated many times that she hated the one name.  It wasn’t only the fact that she had taken in song book but by not giving her credit, Mariko was also stuck with those songs.

“Juju… Can you take a call?”  She heard the man’s voice as she answered to the unfamiliar voice.

“I hope everything is alright…  I have an offer you can’t refuse.”  The bass-like voice spoke.  “Nagoya Dome has been asking for a band to head their rock lineup next month.  Would you be able to take the headliner spot?”

“I would… if I knew who you were.”  Jurina answered when the reply came out.

“Meet me in Tokyo tomorrow.  I’ll fly you here and back no charge.”

Jurina naturally agreed when a smile came upon her face.  She couldn’t stay angry but Sae was getting on her nerves and glancing at Rena, her heart dropped as she traced her fingertips along the cheekbone.

“I won’t do it again. I promise.”

Rena forced a smile, wincing at the pain before they toasted for the meeting tomorrow.

Chapter 2

The road was like the hell bands go through.  The path had led them through all different types of people and the overall cramp spaces that would make all of them groan but the hostel had allowed them into two different rooms.  Jurina and Rena were in one room with the rest in the other.  Jurina had asked for it for a special reason and Rena had kept quiet about the situation too.

Jurina had revealed her secret to Rena, lowering her pants to a small bulge.  She had been embarrassed by it because her woman parts had worked leaving a useless piece on the front.  She had asked her parents but they had refused until she was old enough but time seemed to be growing longer by the moment and once she had her career it was not worth losing sleep over and moved on from the small apartment out to the real world.

“When is the meeting?”  Rena asked as she sat up covering her frail body behind the cream sheet.

“It is at nine o’clock so I should be…”  Jurina had turned to the phone and jumped into the jeans and ran out with the shirt from last night.  “The group is off tonight.  I think.  Can you check with the schedule?”

Rena had turned to her phone and saw a few messages from others until the last one had been of the close friend.  She knew many things and having a person to let her vent out the frustration.  However, Rena was actually close to her friend keeping Jurina close as well.  She didn’t want to tell Jurina but in times like this, Rena had allowed the woman up and heard the knock at the door.

“Welcome Yuki!”  She greeted throwing a shirt over her body before feeling her warm hand onto the vocalist’s back.

“When will you tell Jurina that you actually love me?”  Yuki asked as she locked the door behind her as she brushed by Rena’s lips.  Her hand slipped under the shirt feeling the tender skin as Yuki noticed the mark Jurina had left on her cheek.  Yuki watched her head tilt back as she worked on her neck.  In an instant, a moan escaped before she pushed Yuki back.

“One day…  I can’t be too loud.”  Rena held her finger to her lips.

Jurina arrived at the airport in time for the jet as she climbed on the plane.  There was only one person on the plane with large orange hair.  The sunglasses came off as Jurina noted the female with a wide smile.

“Matsui Juju?”

“Takahashi Minami?  It is nice to meet you.”  Jurina took her seat as the large glass of white wine was by her but asked for a bottle of water when she felt the effect of the previous night.  “What are you exactly?”

“A promoter who wanted to get you on the big stage.”

The flight itself was to hear about Jurina’s past and the name that had popped up stung the girl but Takahashi had laughed it off because she had heard the rumors of the songs and how disconnected she was with the lyrics.  Takahashi had pushed her aside once for switch in management when it was rumored that she had the authorization to leave but the company had bought into the hype and paid for the next album which the writing had been horrible to even consider the recording to be delayed by three months.

Jurina was taken off the plane and was escorted to the room on the grounds as Takahashi had laid out the plan for the concert.  The only concern was a band that had a qualified rocker looking for a new band which had disbanded in a matter of kernel of corn to burst into popcorn.  Jurina saw that Takahashi was quite the person to go as far in getting to Tokyo when the door opened as she was dressed in black and stared down Jurina.

“I’m Yamamoto Sayaka.  Are you the band they are trying to get to work on collaboration?”  She had asked with a snarky tone as Jurina had stood up and shook her hand.

“The Loaded Dice would consider your input.”  She answered as the woman took her seat.  “What do you usually play?”

“I’m the guitarist and main vocalist.  I heard of your group and if we collab, we need a combination like ballad clashing with something heavy…”

Jurina smiled as the idea had hit her mind and Takahashi glared at the two with the storm coming between them when she placed the paper down.

“Juju and the Loaded Dice with Yamamoto Sayaka.”

Jurina watched the smile grow on her face.  It was mesh that seemed to be working for them as Takahashi sat in her seat with the two smiling at each other.  Jurina didn’t have to say much but she was feeling better from hearing the plan before she had extended her hand out to both Takahashi and Yamamoto.

“It is a deal.”  Jurina confirmed as Sayaka made a wink towards her.

She had glanced at the clock and gave a quick smirk as they all left the room.  Takahashi suggested the restaurant for the two as they followed into the air filled with katsu.  The trio took their seats as the plethora of dishes had come out for them.  It seemed weird to find specialties like chicken wings and takoyaki in front of the natives.  They ate the pieces and tilted their heads back in awe.

Jurina was quite aware that Sayaka was trying to get to talk in private but with Takahashi it was unfortunate they couldn’t get closer at the restaurant.  Her thoughts had become clouded like the restaurant after the groups had come in forcing them out before the desert course.  Takahashi extended her arms up to the sky as she thought about the timing but walked them to the hotel she had been staying at for the meeting giving the two a room to share for the collaboration.

“Jurina… why do I get this weird feeling about you?”  Sayaka smiled before pushing her onto the bed.

“Maybe it the essence I possess as leads…”  Jurina winked as Sayaka grinned back with the message she had sent earlier.

“This is bad if we start this.”  Jurina moved Sayaka to her back as she removed the shirt to the beige bra.  “So plain for a person like you.”

“Shut up!”  Sayaka punched Jurina in the arm as Sayaka removed the girl’s shirt and worked on the jeans as she stopped when the small bulge appeared in front of her.  “What is this?”

“I was born with this but it doesn’t work.”  Jurina smiled before she felt the woman’s lips for the first time.

The sweetness made it addictive as her chest in the girl’s hands made her a little jelly but it was natural and it was perfect for her cold hands as the moans grew from the room.  Jurina continued on the assault until both were exhausted as the afternoon had become night as the two in their glory has felt their chests burning from all of the action between the two as the rolled off the bed to head to the shower to continue their embrace into the shower.

“Does your girlfriend say anything about this?”  Sayaka asked breaking off the kiss with the warm bolts of water hitting their skin.

“No, how about yours?  The many you have.”  Jurina joked as Sayaka turned away feeling the slender hands on her body.

“The main one could be out with anyone at the moment while the others…  Let’s say the secret is between us two.”  She replied brushing the girl’s lips again as they dried off their hair before putting the robes on when the door had broken their glares.

“Jurina… I forgot we need to fly you back to Nagoya.”  Takahashi wailed as Jurina rolled her eyes knowing it wasn’t a dream to be with the Osaka front woman.

“It was nice to know you.  I hope we can do more of this in Nagoya.”

Jurina jumped into her clothes and ran to the airport with her hair tied in a ponytail with the random rubber band on the table.  It seemed brief that she had only imagined Sayaka for the brief moment before her face had popped up during the departure from the room.  The driver blew by the traffic to head to the airport as the promoter had seen her off to Nagoya.

“I could only imagine what Nagoya Dome will do for the band.”  She sighed as she returned to the hotel to take Sayaka to the venue.

Chapter 3

The plane touched down at the airport runaway with the cool breeze blowing through the door as Jurina, unprepared for the cool weather had crossed her arms before heading into the building.  She glanced at her phone seeing a few messages from Rena and Nishi.  Mieko had her rest day and returned home with Masana and Sae eating together at the ramen place.  Jurina bit down on her lip as she heading out to the arrivals area calling out for a cab.

“Where to?”

“Take me to the city.  I’ll tell you where.”  Jurina replied as she could feel the difference in temperature in the cab.

She knew Nagoya and Nagoya knew of her.  There were many times that night crawling had brought her into the hell of a cell but was always bailed out by someone.  Tonight the city had been calm like the end of the work day calm despite being past ten and without a place to stay.  Jurina cursed the fact that she could have waited for the morning but with their next one soon, she stopped in front of the izakaya and paid him what she had before strolling inside.

Jurina took a seat really without noticing anybody as the bartender had slid her a cold bottle.  She felt it but pressed it up to her lips when she glanced at the person when a smile came onto her face.  They were many times when she wasn’t covered up but being in the scarlet kimono.  It only suited someone who would probably want to flaunt her qualities.

“Seera~”

“Jurina… why did you grab the beer for?”  She asked as her dumbfounded look turned to the guy sticking his longest finger to the girl.

“Ah gomen ne~ I’ll pay for it.”  Jurina responded as the bartender had slid the drink down his way with Jurina taking a sip of the bottle feeling the hammer coming from the bartender.

“You are too young for drinks!”  She scolded the girl as Jurina turned to see a plate of nigiris with oddly cut pieces of sashimi on top with a bit of soy sauce.  “This is on the house.”

Jurina broke the chopsticks and dipped the sushi into the sauce and ate it whole.  It was a blissful moment as the pureness of the rice had met with the sliced tuna melting in her mouth.  Jurina felt instant warmth within her body as she grabbed the cup of water from the bartender and washed the food down.

“I remembered the time you were actually cute rather than playing this rebel.”  She snarled at the girl when the corner of her lips curled upwards.

“Why go through all this?  I thought you were a model?”  Jurina snapped back at the bartender when she was given the microphone.

“Singing is a great thing and drunken men are still important to my youth.”  She replied as the song came out with the men swaying to the light melody of the song.

Jurina saw Seera as the big sister she never had in her life.  She was a lonely person trying to get her career started in the back alleys.  It wasn’t until Jurina had offered to help her that she had gotten contract going her way.  The band didn’t know who she was when she came on occasion but the open door policy had brought her to the back as she brought up the many stories of the girl running away from everyone.  Jurina grew red in her cheeks but Seera had always thanked her for the big break and now meeting her in the bar had made her feel nostalgic.  Seeing her happy was the most important for Jurina as she finished the plate and bowed toward the woman.

Jurina had the buzz to do other things and maybe just trying to see who was out there.  It was the usual suspects hiding in the shadows with the few girls to gather in the park but it was like used gum until she got to the convenience store.  She walked up to person walking away from her as she tapped on the shoulder.  Jurina saw the face and smiled as the fear filled her soul.

“I’m Matsui Jurina.”  She introduced herself as the female nodded.

“I know… I like your music.”  She nodded to the lead singer as she took it as a weird complement.  “I’m wondering why you’re out here?”

Jurina scoffed at the question but her livelihood seemed to get the best of her.  “Do you have a place where I can stay for the night?”

“I’m sorry but I just came to get some food for my friends.”  She explained as she started to run away when Jurina caught up to her.

“I’ll offer an autograph for the trouble.”

She smiled as she handed the bag to Jurina.  Jurina had followed her to the apartment and opened the door to the room with two adults in the living room.  She took off the shoes and followed the girl to the room with two other girls as they fell over seeing Jurina in the room.  The girl smiled as she saw the unopened CD’s on the table.  They were samples but she signed them as part of the deal and took a seat near the window.

Jurina kept her attention to the window as the three were huddled when they crawled over to her.  She hadn’t expected certain things but they made a semi-circle around the girl as the girl who had helped her had sat in the middle.  “I’m Ryoha!  Do you think… I’m cute?”

“Yeah!”  Jurina blurted out as the two giggled next to her when Ryoha had leaned onto Jurina.

“The next thing is… Ren is your boyfriend or not?”

Jurina smiled as she pressed her finger on her lips.  It couldn’t be more obvious but the brief moment she had felt like a girl.  The normal girl she had wanted to be if it wasn’t for everything.  She had smiled more often until Ryoha had pushed her onto the floor feeling her weight.  It seemed too perfect as she pressed upon her lips.  Ryoha’s eyes widened as Jurina felt the hand pressed against her crotch.

The room exploded with sound as the door opened up as Ryoha had scrambled to her feet as she had explained the existence of Jurina and as her parents had closed the door, she had given her one more on her cheek to seal the night with her fans.  Jurina curled up as she laid her head onto the floor when she felt a touch on her arm.  It was a soft touch as the eyes to peer into her.

“I know you’re a girl… Do you have an issue being with girls?”  She spoke softly as Jurina opened her eyes fully as she touched her cheek.

“I have no issue being with guys or girls…  I’m just Juju.”  She replied with a grin as Ryoha cupped her face placing her weight over the girl’s body.  Lips were soft and sweet as honey as the innocence seemed to pour into her as Jurina had placed her hands onto her chest and gently pushed her off.

“The thing is… I can’t just be kissing fans at random.”  She giggled nervously as the hand was venturing under her shirt.

“How about going further than that?”  She asked.

Jurina felt drunk by the kiss before that she couldn’t resist another taste and took her to the only sanctuary that could keep both away from the other girls.  Being escorted to the closet, her clothes were meant for a girl her age showing her cute side.  Jurina made it a quick process to force her to not go further but Ryoha pushed that limit until the girl had finally been tainted by Jurina’s aggressive nature.

Luckily, she didn’t awake the rest as Ryoha went to rest with the large wet spot on her bottom.  Jurina sat up and grabbed the notepad and pen from the table.  Songs came at a rather productive pace but to get her band to do it would take time but it seemed to be perfect for the next concert if she could get an acoustic guitar.  Jurina wrote down the lyrics and rested in an upright position before the sun came peering into the room.

Chapter 4

Jurina remembered about the empty room in the club.  Being the first time she had been sober for a day, Jurina had picked up the guitar.  She had one before she left home but in the rage she had threw against the door.  It was nostalgia as she held it like a woman that she had remembered before meeting the band.  The tuning seemed simpler than it was before she strummed a few chords before the words seemed to come out like poetry more than a song.

It was the torture of her life at home and when she wrote out her soul into the book.  Everything seemed to be chaotic and for the moment it was at peace.  Jurina couldn’t explain it but the song made her smile for the first time in a long while that she had felt calm.  As she ended the poetry reading, the applause came from the door.

“That was beautiful.”  Sae pressed her hands against the bridge of her nose.  “You want us to help you?”

“If it’s alright by you?”

The band agreed when Rena pulled up her chair as the rest took to their instruments.  Jurina grabbed the tambourine and handed it over to Rena.  Her eyes seemed to be gray as she curled her lips when Masana started with the melody followed by the strumming of Jurina.  Rena came in with the rhythm as Jurina closed her eyes.

You know, the sun is in your eyes
And hurricanes and rains
and black and cloudy skies.

You're running up and down that hill.
You turn it on and off at will.
There's nothing here to thrill
or bring you down.
And if you've got no other choice
You know you can follow my voice
through the dark turns and noise
of this wicked little town.

Oh Lady, luck has led you here
and they're so twisted up
they'll twist you up. I fear.

the pious, hateful and devout,
you're turning tricks til you're turned out,
the wind so cold it burns,
you're burning out and blowing round.
And if you've got no other choice
you know you can follow my voice
through the dark turns and noise
of this wicked little town.

Rena adding her piece made it perfect as the rest tapped their instruments going with the rhythm of the song.  Jurina never had heard the clarity in such a song especially one she had wrote.  She wanted to stop at the brief moment but strummed the chords to get the full experience out of the song that she wanted to perfect.

The fates are vicious and they're cruel.
You learn too late you've used two wishes
like a fool

and then you're someone you are not,
and Junction City ain't the spot,
remember Mrs. Lot
and when she turned around.
And if you've got no other choice
You know you can follow my voice
through the dark turns and noise
of this wicked little town.

As Rena continued, Jurina lowered her head fighting off the memories of her past before ending with a strong strum as she removed the guitar and placed it on the stand.  She wiped it away as she stared at the band, bowing to them as they moved their heads in unison.

“We have the gig at Nagoya Dome.”  Jurina announced as the band crowded around the vocalist.  “Yamamoto Sayaka wants to join us too.”

“Sayanee?  The Leopards disbanded?”  Sae asked when Jurina confirmed the rumor.

“We have her to make this a headliner.”  Jurina explained as Sae walked up to her.

“You know we know.”  She whispered as Jurina’s eyes stared at Rena.

“I couldn’t pass up on the opportunity.  Rena would understand.”  Jurina replied as they turned back to the group.  “Let’s get the playlist together!”

Jurina and Sae were one in the same.  They had many women to turn to and more than others had expected.  It wasn’t unusual for them to butt heads at times but in the end, it always came to a non-violent conclusion.  The rest of the group knew how it usually would end as long as they didn’t go too far into drinking.

The group continued through the afternoon when a set of bentos came into the studio as Jurina handed it out before taking hers as she saw Rena go into the corner.  Jurina walked over and took a seat next to her other vocalist.  It wasn’t unusual to see them together but to see Jurina sober was a miracle in itself as she opened her box to the pork bun and two side dishes.

“What did you guys do last night?”  Jurina asked before placing the pork bun into her mouth.

“I hung out with Nishi.”  She answered promptly.  “She was telling me about the manga she was reading.”

“I see.  I was hanging out with people and other stuff…”  Jurina tailed the end of her sentence as she saw the change in Rena’s expression.  “Sorry for not telling you.”

“It’s fine… It isn’t the first time right?”

Jurina turned away and stuffed the last of the bun into her mouth as the dough seemed to dry out her mouth.  It was troublesome but she could pass on the issues between them as they started to tune up their instruments before they took the usual mandatory break.  Jurina slipped into the back room as she lay on the couch before Rena would come inside and took the spot next to her.

The taste of her lips was unusually sweet as Jurina cupped her face before proceeding to the usual terms of the relationship.  Rena’s moans were common as Jurina’s aggressive nature would come out.  They would end with the silence with both in each other’s arms with the clothes scattered across the floor as the time came to set up for the stage.

“Ready to go?”

“It wouldn’t be possible without you.”  Rena grinned as Jurina walked into the shower to prep up for Juju.

Rena always hid her phone away from the others as Sae came in with the phone in hand.  Her heart dropped into her stomach as Sae handed her the phone.  As she walked away, Rena could feel it slowly come up her throat before the obstruction disappeared.  Rena had the secret from Jurina and Sae with Yuki.  She knew the history of Yuki and Sae when they were touring but Yuki had grown fond of Rena after the relationship between them went sour.  Rena had used Black as the code name while Yuki used Geki for Rena.

After the show, we can do something. –Black

Can’t… We usually party after the show.

I see.  I’m at the lodging next to the venue if you need me.  At least to escape the wrath of Jurina.

I should be fine.  Make sure Sae doesn’t see you.

She closed her phone as Jurina came out of the shower before Rena took her phone with her to shower off the odor at least for the fans.  Rena didn’t like the fact that she had be Ren during the shows but it was something that an opportunity couldn’t allow to happen if the band had sunk without Jurina fronting them.

Chapter 5

Jurina stood with her makeup set and placed the wig on her head.  She felt unprepared as she turned to see what would usually be a can of beer or a shot of liquor beside her, instead, a bottle of water as she twisted the cap to get quick gulp in before heading backstage where the band had been set up.  Sae glanced at the clock on her phone before placing onto the speaker.

“Juju one minute and counting.”  Sae informed her as she turned to Rena in her wig as she peered at the curtain in front of her.

“Let’s have a great show.”  She smiled when the crowd went silent.

The promoter got them riled up before introducing the band and the curtains opened to the first number to pick up the crowd’s spirit.  Jurina turned into character with the deep, raspy voice escaping into the crowd as they roared back with the chants screaming back at them.  Every moment she had was to turn to Ren, who was on her own rocking it out with the tunes before they got through their first set.

Jurina had the keen sense of hearing and let everything seem to flow as if nothing had happened.  A miss here and there seemed to be less irking for her until the third set when the beat and the keyboard hit the wrong note and her head snapped back as the two nodded in unison.  Seemingly, Jurina had never experienced a night where everything seemed to go right.

“Thank you everybody!”  She yelled before the acoustic guitar was rolled out as the rest of the band had prepped for the song they practiced hours earlier.  “This is for all who have struggled out in this world and have someone you care for more than anything.”

Jurina had turned to Rena as she felt melody flow from her fingers as the slight sharp note caught her by surprise but quickly adjusted it to make it smoother when Jurina started the song as her attention was solely on the other vocalist.  The words came out like wine from a bottle as it moved into the clear glass as it still impacted more than anyone with her band supporting her in the back as the song came to an end.

The curtain closed with the applause thundering throughout the room as they walked off stage to the back.  Jurina stopped towards the dressing room to see a short person by the dressing room door.  Her wig had shifted when she ran over to see the person was waiting when the rest had ran over to see who Jurina was glaring at.

“What… What are you doing here?”  Jurina asked as she smiled.

“I’ve thought about becoming a manager and seemingly it may be a good choice to get you guys to the big stage.”  She explained as Jurina turned to the band.

“This is Takahashi Minami.  She’s the one who called me about Nagoya Dome.”  Jurina introduced the woman as the rest introduced them to her.

Takahashi escorted them into the room with a wreath and a cooler of drinks in it.  Jurina instantly grabbed the can and popped it open as Takahashi had stared at her.  It was personally a struggle to not enjoy one but she placed it down on the counter.  Jurina grabbed the water from her table as she sat around Takahashi as the plan had been established for three months to work up to the Nagoya Dome concert.

Jurina was ecstatic about the opportunity but she felt irked that she couldn’t enjoy the beverage like everyone else but kept it inside until Takahashi had finished her detailed plan about taking the group to bigger clubs for the time being and if it all goes well. She could become a manager for the group.  The band was in agreement that it was a process to get accustomed and left the room promptly.  Sae grabbed the can and tossed it over to the singer.

“I know you wanted one but you have to show it.”  She scoffed as Jurina took a sip of the suds eventually calming her nerves and taking off the wig to get the show’s review out of the way before getting to their cramped space.  Jurina saw the band leave to their separate things before having Rena in her arms.  The nice warmth she gave was great although at times she had gotten angry.

“You want to head to the room?”  Rena asked as the girl ran her finger along the cheekbone.

“I’ll get there on my own.  You can have fun with the rest of the band.”

Jurina stood and walked letting out a long yawn as she went to the exit as Rena took off her wig and placed it into the bin for tomorrow’s show.  She began to glance around to see if anyone was still present before exiting out to the streets.  The place itself was a plain building as she ran across the wet street to the door as she saw Yuki in a black dress sitting in the lobby.

“The girl went to sleep?”  She asked as Rena ran her hand through her hair.

“Yes… However, the rest are out on the town.”  Rena explained as Yuki took her into the elevator.

Yuki’s touch on the cheek was the strike starting their embrace.  She couldn’t be beat with her hands feeling every part of her skin.  They rushed to the room as the immediate chaos of stripping down to their underwear compared to the lust running through their veins.  It was messy.  The screams could be heard across the hall as they rolled over each and every place within the room.  Rena hadn’t felt liberated by someone until she had met her when they had been drunk one night.

The continuing of meeting up with each other didn’t get old but the secrets came out bit by bit until it was squeezed out like a used washcloth as both had enough secrets to make a reporter cry between them.  She had loved the etching of Yuki’s body.  Rena couldn’t resist every time feeling her bosom in her hands like candy to a kid.  Her finger melting within her core was especially wonderful and how she couldn’t hold back anything.  Rena had the sudden guilt after but it disappeared with time.

As another night had passed, the two lay on the bed staring at the ceiling with the smell of sweat and lust perfumed the room.  Yuki turned to her side caressing the vocalist’s cheek with her eyes peering into the forgotten soul.

“I have the opportunity to give you a chance to break away from Jurina.”  Yuki glared with the smile creeping up onto her face.

“What is it?”

“A chance to debut solo.  A beautiful voice shouldn’t need a band but a stage where by yourself you can sell out.”  Yuki had pointed out into the sky as Rena shook her head.

“Jurina I can escape but not the band.”  Rena said softly as Yuki grabbed her hand.

“Think about it.  It isn’t something that will last long.”  She grinned as the offer popped into Rena’s head as she rolled off the bed trying to find her clothes with only the lamp’s light guiding her to redressing.

“I’ll think about it.”

Rena got herself dressed and ran out to the stairs before she got out to the lobby.  She exited the area covering her face with her hand.  It was a quick run across the street as she saw two figures standing with a bag in their hands.

“Oi, Rena!”

She turned to wave to Nishi as the other person stood back.  Nishi had run up when the figure stood out from the window before it closed the curtains.  Sae shook her head as they headed back to the room for a midnight snack among the rest of the members.

Chapter 6

Jurina was awoken by the talking among the band.  It was unusual for her to sleep earlier than the others but it was also the fact that they were circling around Rena that made her alert.  She passed by them to head to the bathroom as she paused to think about what was happening and shook it off to finish her business before returning to her bed.

She had remembered the day when she had asked about removing the hindrance on her as a distraction.  However, her age had become the point to wait it out but with her activities coming at full steam, she had wondered if anyone had been willing to chance removing it.  Then, it was the recovery time that popped up and she began to review everything throughout her dreams and it was the blissful moment that everything was finally stripped off that she could finally reveal her true self.

She awoke again to the sun beaming into the room and walked over to the open container of noodles.  Jurina felt her stomach rumble as she walked to the hallway with a few kids running around with the school bags strapped to their backs.  She strutted down the hallway to the stairs as she felt the pain in stomach.  Jurina remembered the stairs and felt her weight go forward.
---

“Jurina!”

Rena ran down the stairs to feel the feint pulse of the girl as Sae came to the top as she got the paramedics to see the girl from the bottom of the stairwell.  Rena’s heart was crushed by seeing her eyes fluttering as they lifted her down to the exit and out to the streets.  Takahashi coming from the corner had run up to see the singer being placed onto the stretcher.

“What happened?”  Takahashi asked as she saw Jurina staring at the door with her glazed eyes.

“I saw her on the bottom of the stairs passed out.”  Rena explained wiping away the warm tears from her eyes.

“Jurina is such a sport when it comes to this and especially the song she wrote, it made me thinks about how bad my home was before I felt for the road.”  Sae breathed as the alleyway was covered by the vehicle.

Rena stepped up into the back as Sae ran up to wake up the rest of the members to take a visit.  She glanced at the girl as she slowly moved her head side to side as the first touch came from the girl’s hand.

“Are you okay?”  Rena whispered.

“I’m fine.  I just felt this pain and then I saw you crying over me with a light shining above you.”  Jurina smiled before closing her eyes.

“Don’t leave!”

“I’m really tired.”  Jurina scoffed.  “Don’t you think we should probably carry this conversation later?”

Rena nodded as Jurina tilted her head to the side.  The girl naturally liked Rena’s touch and the occasion that she brushed back her hair was a soothing feeling to her.  It reminded her of her mother.  She had cursed that she had left her mother in that spot to do a career that could probably make her enter into the whirlpool quickly but the hesitant agreement left the door open to return.

As Jurina was brought out of the ambulance, Rena waited inside before Jurina was taken out of the back with little hesitation to follow her but she was stopped before getting into the emergency area.  Rena took the long path around to the front and sat in the lobby for the rest of band when she felt a hand on her shoulder.

“Matsui-san?”  She spoke.  “Rena, it’s me Airin from school.”

Rena turned her head to see the woman with a polka dot scrubs on as she held a folder in her hand.  The woman had grown pale as she saw the smiling nurse.  It had been a while since she saw her since Airin was held back a year because of technical school.  The memory of their last meeting seemed to fill her mind slowly as Airin took a seat next to her.

“How’ve you been doing?”  She asked in a lower tone, seeing her eyes peer up to her.

“I’ve been doing well…”  Rena replied as she forced a smile avoiding her reason for being in the hospital.  “How has it been?”

Airin smiled when she presented a ring on her right hand.  It was a nice jewel on the ring and Rena admired the piece of jewelry.  She explained that she had met an intern after college and eventually became a doctor at the hospital before taking a job in Osaka.  Rena glanced around as someone came up to Airin and handed her another folder and turned to Rena as the person pointed toward her.

“Well… Jurina just went into surgery.  That’s what I have been informed.  Is she your sister?  Cousin?”  Airin had asked as Rena shook her head.

“It is complicated… I’m actually her girlfriend and her lover yet…”  Rena breathed when she took a seat.  “I don’t know how I should feel.  I’ve been fooling around with another woman.”

Airin tilted her head.  “I never expected you would ever do this.”

Rena folded her hand into a fist before slamming it onto the armrest.  There were many things Rena had hated and it was just Yuki had her heart while Jurina had her soul.  She stormed out of the room when the band walked in as Airin gave them the news Jurina was in surgery.  They wondered for what and then the secret of her malignant organ came from Airin before leaving them.

They sat around waiting for the news that she came out of surgery while Rena had returned with the other members turning their attention to her.  Rena didn’t want to speak to them as she took her seat on the opposite of them when Nishi came up to Sae.

“What shall we do?”

“The best things are pray and hope for the best.”  Sae said before lowering her head.

---

“What happened?”

“We had to remove the thing as it was hurting you more than you expected.”  The firm voice explained as she noticed the blue gown over her.

“How’s everybody?!”

“You must rest…”  He said as he patted her on the head.  “They will be informed by the nurses and will visit you after you take a short rest.”

Jurina wasn’t sure but the stitches felt rough under her fingers.  The man left in his white coat as she followed his recommendation and laid on her side as she dreamt about Nagoya Dome.  The screaming fans and with the crowd, Jurina saw Rena from the side of the stage with a smile as she held a box in her hand and handed it over before she left as Jurina slipped into her slumber.

Chapter 7

Jurina awoke to the sound of the monitor clicking as she turned to see the sunrise outside her window.  Spending a whole day in bed wasn’t what she wanted to do but still feeling the weight upon her.  She shifted towards the edge and felt the cold floor beneath her feet.  It ran up her body before stopping at her hips, adjusting to the temperature before scurrying over to the restroom.

It seemed long to walk ten feet but her body had still felt the immense weight upon her as she took her seat to start on her business.  She let out a yawn when the knock on the door woke her from her lingering daze.  Jurina got up from the seat and peered outside to the nurse.

“Sorry…”

Jurina finished up her business before heading back to the bed as the nurse helped her back up as the warmth from before had given her energy.  Jurina knew walking wasn’t a problem but the pain was still evident as she pressed down after her short walk.  The nurse looked under the gown and gave her a smile.

“Matsui-san, I’ve forgot to tell you that when you need to use the bathroom, please ask us first.”  She informed the girl as she nodded to confirm her understanding.

The cold room made her worried about the band as she had no other way to contact them.  She turned on the television to the news which she hated and the talk shows which she had little interest in but the celebrity news caught her eyes about the new band headlining the Nagoya Dome and she raised her hands over her head before shifting her body back into the bed.

Time seemed to slow down as the nurses had come by while everything seemed to drag to the point that she just wanted to roll out and see what was out there before seeing her at the door with a big bouquet of flowers.

“How ya doing?”

Jurina was surprised to see Sayaka as she kissed her on the forehead before taking a seat next to her.  Jurina scanned the room before signaling over to Sayaka to close the curtain.  The woman climbed on top of the bed and moved her hand onto the girl’s face.  Jurina felt relaxed by her embrace before Sayaka got off as her knee contacted the remote.

“Sorry!”  The nurse glared at the short-haired woman as she took her seat when the curtain opened.

Sayaka turned toward her as the silence seemed to get to both as she excused herself before Rena had entered into the room.  The eyes were blood shot red staring at the girl when she ran up and placed her hands around Jurina’s neck before calmly removed the hands.

“I guess you should explain this.”  Jurina smirked.

“It isn’t fair that you can become like this while I have to play around you.”  She struck the girl as the scene was played out like a play.

“If you are sick of this, you are free to leave.”  Jurina bluntly said as Rena widened her eyes.

“I only have one thing to ask…”  Rena could see Sayaka by the door but refused to acknowledge the existence before turning back to the girl.  “Do you like me?”

Jurina pursed her lips.  It was obvious that making such a decision would change the dynamic and it was an easy decision but Sayaka was also holding for the answer when Jurina had sat up.

“I love you.  It isn’t a question but the thing is… I wanted to feel my way in the world.”  Jurina’s jaw straightened out before Rena gave another blow that gave her answer as she stamped out with Sayaka watching her from the door.  No punch that Jurina had thrown would make up for the pain the girl had ever felt.  The nurse grabbed the white cloth with warm water and wiped up the blood from her lip.

“I better go.”

Sayaka ran out when Sae came back to the room with Rena visibly shaken when Sae shook her head with a wide smile on her face.  Rena fell to her knees when Jurina had heard the laugh escape from her mouth.  The chaotic scene it had created in front of the girl.  Jurina glared at the two when Sae held her chest with little remorse when the nurse left the three alone.

“I lost the bet.”  Sae grinned towards the girl.

“You set this up because you know I was fooling around?”  Jurina asked when Rena turned.

“It wasn’t just you.”  Rena added.

“The three of us in general.”  Sae explained when she held up the chin of the girl.  “She gave you one because you love Rena so much to allow yourself take one for your soul.”

Jurina narrowed her eyes as the laugh seemed to escape from Rena like a madman when she finally stopped and jumped onto the girl.  It was a quick embrace before she unleashed another punch into her ribs but it was little less painful than before as Sae ran her hand through the girl’s hair.

“This is the reminder that no matter what we will love each other but now we have the truth in front of us.”  Sae nodded to the other two before they left the room for the doctors to their inspection.

It was quick.  The doctor gave the diagnosis that Jurina could be discharged tomorrow.  It was a long time away but the group heard the news and celebrated with a cheer before being told to quiet down.  Jurina felt the bruise flare up as she could feel the pain of Rena running through her body.  She needed the frustration being sent back to her face and now a few days off gave her an inspiration to write out a poem.

The jumbled up pieces she remembered from school and made it out to the only she knew.  It went with the rhythm of what she had placed when Sae saw Jurina alone in the room with the pieces of paper and glanced at it with the intrigued insight that Jurina had acknowledge the pain she had been in.

“This is rather messed up but it shows how much that we all have faults.”  Sae patted the girl on the shoulder.

“Faults?  It must be deep within me that it has turned into an abyss.”  Jurina replied as Sae gave her a hug.

“We all can get out of the holes we dug ourselves into.”  Sae glanced to the door.  “I don’t want to disclose everything but get the rhythm and we’ll support you.”

Jurina closed her eyes with the sounds running through her mind.  It was an elegant combination and placing the first line of the song and then the title came to mind as she wrote it down on the paper as Sae turned to find it on the top slanted but legible to her.

“The Origin of Love?  That has a nice ring to it.”
