man that's horrible to hear. But it shows how much of a dedicated dad he is and I respect him for that.

This sucks. I have lots of respect for the man. I actually occassionally go on cnet to look at reviews and stuff, and most of it was about digital audio things so I knew who he was.

It's such an unfortunate way to die. Must've been horrible.

R.I.P man, I loved you on Tech TV...

This really upset me when I first heard about it.

First of all, I go jeeping in my spare time (I live in the mountains, literally- jeeping is when I take my [jeep] out and drive through unmarked trails, mountain paths, etc.. roads which would eat a car alive).  Some of these roads are made specifically for jeeps because of their size, etc and are REGULATED.  Even if the path is a really obscure, unserviced road, past a certain point every year they're closed with locks.  If I were to look up many of these roads on google or on a map, they appear as dirt roads, not highways.

My point being, Oregon is in deep shit.  For one thing, if you google from Grants Pass to Gold Beach what comes up?  Bear Camp Road, which is basically a very, dangerous very difficult trail meant for smaller four wheel drive utility rigs.  However it was not locked up- and not only that, but it was directly leading off a main road!  Their excuse was that the road was vandalized (the locks gone) but that's bullshit.. such a knowingly infamous road (bodies are found periodically there) should have been watched a hell of a lot more closely even if left unserviced.  Where were the signs, where were the LARGE gates?  If it was vandalized, put them back!

And google really needs to mark that as a trail on their map.

My hearts are totally with the family.. this really bothers me a lot.

I sometimes checked CNET for reviews but I haven't seen this guy before. Very sad story though.
