I very much doubt imdb's credibility after I read, 50 Cent was doing the voice of Epona in Twilight Princess. Plus Richard Simmons was cast as Navi, the fairy? (well, there's part truth in that, I suppose). They've taken it down, but I still very much doubt that Xzhibit is co-directing the game:

... Sigh.

I just.... The movie is nothing more than eye candy, and it's storyline is as weak as hell. 8 years for this? Disappointed.

Zero_, I've heard that comment before, and honestly, I don't know what to say....  People like you either
 A) Can't find it in themselves to say that they like something that everyone else likes, probably because they need to feel somehow "better" than everyone else, even if they don't realise that is the reason.  or
B) Have such insane expectations, that they could never be satisfied with anything.

I don't know what you were expecting out of the movie, but if you were expecting something like 50hrs worth of plot squeezed into a 100min movie, which was originally intended to be a 25min short film.......then I don't know what to tell you. This movie is a gift to all FF7 fans, like myself, who adored and held this game to such a high esteem. So you could go ahead and be disappointed, cause it's really a shame that you couldn't enjoy this movie for all that it is, and appreciate it for what it's suppose to be.

Me, on the other hand, would just like to say...
Thank you, Square-Enix. THANK YOU.
Job well done. We appreciate it.  <3

I thought it was cool, I have no idea what was going on but it still looked cool and I enjoyed watching it.  :w00t:
I really like the animation the best, the movement of the characters was really life like.
I wonder though if they shouldn't have made this as a series instead of a movie.
I think they should make a series as well actually, that would be cool.

making it a series would've been so much better than a movie, that way they could've made a much fuller story and made it longer. But I don't think they want to spend that much time and money doing a full CG series.

I just finished watching this and it's REALLY REALLY good!! The CG was breathtaking and the storyline's fairly tight. I'm new to FF in I've never played a game before in my life and I was admittedly lost first 45mins or so. :P I did get the story in the end though and would love to know what happened before this...

Time for surfing!! ^o^

I'd have to say B. It's not necesarilly "anything" but just this. I was expecting alot, perhaps too much, and that was the inevidable cause for my disliking of this movie. I'm glad you and so many other people have enjoyed it, but I for one, probably due to my tastes and expectations, have not.

I'd go into a 4000 word essay of what aspects of it I didn't enjoy such as how the secondary characters are just brief cameos, how it breaks free of Final Fantasy VII's boundaries, not mention laws of physics as well etc. but frankly, there is no need. I haven't enjoyed it, and you have, and that's basically all that matters.

But one things for sure, this movie certainly has divided, the once united Final Fantasy VII fanbase.

Bringing the laws of physics into a discussion about a CG MOVIE is like cumming on an underage girl's ass. It may sound like a good idea. But no. Just..no. It's a very bad idea.

Also, you seem to have missed the part where Materia and Lifestream breaks every scientific theory we have in place and their mothers.

Lol, what's with you and underaged girls? Anyways, what I basically meant was that Cloud was never able to fly around in Final Fantasy VII. Heck, if he could, the game would be alot easier.

As for the Materia and Lifestream etc. That doesn't matter and I've nothing wrong with it. It's Final Fantasy VII, and that's it story. I was merely talking about how this movie somewhat, contradicts FFVII.

Yeah sure, it should of  been just like the game. Cloud and co. should of just stood in a line, ran up to Kadaj, hit him, and then run back to the same spot. And what was the deal with the HP damage not being displayed?  Sheesh!

-_- I'm not saying it should be like the game in that sense, but rather, it's Final Fantasy VII's world, and if you can't fly in the original, what makes flying possible after 2 years? It all seriousness, they've Dragon Ball Z-fied the movie too much, atleast for me.

I don't really see where you got 'flying' from. It was obvious they're just really agile :o

......yeeeah, uum, hmm. I could get anal and point out that they're not actually "flying", but it really doesn't matter at ALL. Your complaint is probably the most nitpick comment I've ever heard. I mean, even if they WERE flying, why couldn't they be able to? Spoiler: Sephiroth can project his image into physical form from the center of the planet, but him jumping around really high is too much of a determent from the game? And as for Cloud, Sephiroth even asks him how did he get so powerful, so obviously Cloud can do things that he wasn't able to do before. So WTF? If this is one of your complaints, then I don't think there can be any reasoning with you. Maybe you should just stop and, I don't know........ only read books, or something. I hear collecting stamps is nice.....

... But they never actually bounced. Not even once.  :(

--
And about the 'flying Cloud', the original game was made like in 1997, so they've had around 8 years to be influenced by all kinds of crap. I could care more or less whether Cloud can fly or not -- the movie was intended to be for FFVII fans only, not to win any awards.

Woooah. Slow down. What is wrong with me not liking the movie? I've got my tastes, and if their not the same as yours, there's no need to start a fight.
