Ugh. Thought I'd surely get a PS3 when FF13 come out, and now rumors say it might be coming out on another system. I'll let that decision slide till it actually comes out though.

But it sure is happy. Many systems are getting the Final Fantasy treatment this year. It's like FF love is spreading to all gamers~  :-*
I was mostly suprised by the 3D remake of FF4. Oh, my knight in shining dark armor~
Too bad it'll take ages to get it into english. :-\

Info on Dissidia

Screenshots of Dissidia

hmm, interesting, I'll give them that but I don't know how I feel about it. On one hand I applaud them for diversifying, but then I think of DOC. And it's a brawler on a handheld. Not exactly encouraging. Also, I see Zidane and Kuja there, but what about the guy in armor, was he from a past FF? If so, then I would expect the game will include characters from various FF games and not just from the FFIX universe. I wonder if Cloud could wipe the floor with Squall?

I think the armor guy is one of the 4 light warriors from FF1.

lol I don't think the people who talked about the article even tried figuring out what it says.

Article says the two other characters are a Warrior of Light (like what winner said) and Garland, both from FFI

Still not much, but some actual useful information about the game.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dissidia:_Final_Fantasy

Seems like it will be a good game for final fantasy fans.

Final Fantasy VI Advance
« Reply #127 on: May 19, 2007, 05:51:00 AM »
I'm FINALLY getting around the actually playing Final Fantasy VI.  See, as a young lad, I never had a SNES in it's prime.  Much later on near the end of it's life cycle my brother bought a SNES but he never bought the Final Fantasy games due to a high price tag (and while I believed in emulation for Final Fantasy V having not yet been released in NA, I didn't believe in downloading games you could potentially buy without needing to import).  Having said that before rabid fans are like "OMG WTF YOU NEVER BEATEN FFVI YET?"  Here's my thing.  I've been playing the series since the beginning, I bought FF when it first came out in 1990, so I'm not some FFVII freak (in fact I'm not too fond of FFVII) but...is it just me or a LOT of the tracks in FFVI similiar to FFVII?  I realize it should be the other way around, but having beaten FFVII and not FFVI that's the way it feels to me.  Are some of the tracks remixes?  Am I going insane?  What's the deal here?  Either way it's a great game even though I'm only 5 hours into it and I'll beat it now seeing as I actually have the time (going to and from College).

It's probably just you.
that or it's a case of "played :insert game: first before :insert game: syndrome"

It's what happened to me with Suikoden and Suikoden II.

Well if you listen to all the FF soundtracks you will find that many of the songs are used in all the games.

yup.

The crystal theme (intro), chocobo theme (when you ride the chocobo), and the victory fanfare are remixed the most. Don't know when it started though... ithink of it as fan-service~  :P
Also a lot of the stuff has a "Nobuo Uematsu" touch. So it isn't weird to sound similar, yet different.  :D

Well, aside from those (obvious) tracks, nothing else sounds too similar between VI and VII.

Same here. That's the main reason why I bought a PS3 and Wii.

^ Is there not meant to be 4 discs? :s It certainly seems the most popular. It's special to me because it was not only the first RPG I ever played, but also the very first one :)

PS version had 3. PC version had 4. At least that's what I remember.

lol, yeah I think this is complete. Even if it wasn't, I'd probably never make it to the 4th disc anyway

Oh ok then! :D Now that you mention it, I think it might have been FFVIII that had 4.

yeah VII only had 3. The reason for the 4th disc in the PC version was for the installation disc.

VIII and IX had 4
