I may just get a Wii after all...

 :w00t: Oh ho ho!
This looks gorgeous, especially for the Wii (which as we all know is more about gameplay as opposed to graphics). I can not wait to see what Final Fantasy is like the Wii either. I hope it uses the remote a lot and not just some crappy movements every now and then. I also hope it's more entertaining than the Gamecube Crystal Chronicles which quite frankly, was boring.

yeah VII only had 3. The reason for the 4th disc in the PC version was for the installation disc.

VIII and IX had 4
I think I had a 4th disc for the PS2 version that came with Advent Pieces, haven't looked in the box for a while, so, it might be just a different game.

so I just played FFVII a little.. so far I don't like it at all haha

The random fights bug me the most.. and turn based battles are kinda stupid. I knew it would feature these things, but I thought there would be less random battles.

Yeah the random battles aren't everybody's cup of tea. I personally don't mind them, but yeh, having an option is always the better choice.

It's impossible to find the Lindwyrm mark in FFXII!! People told me finding the Trickster was the worst, but they must be out of their minds! The petitioner told me to find it in the highlands of the Tchita Uplands when it's cloudy, but it never gets cloudy! And having to leave the area and re-enter it again and again is a pain. Think I'll just try the Antlion again.

I'll be picking up FF3 (DS) when I have time this weekend. Took me long enough.  :P

Saw FF2 (PSP) was out, but I want to wait it out for a full english release. Same for FF1 (PSP).

Forgot to ask. Do I actually need to wait for the english version of FF1 and FF2 on PSP?
Because I know the the japanese PSP version can switch from kanji into english. Anybody know any in-game reason why I should wait for the english version? (except basic stuff like an english game manual...)
Thanks in advance!

the japanese version has an option to use english translations?

If that's the case, the only reason to wait is that it will probably be cheaper if you wait.

I finally caved in and used the net to find the Lindwyrm :( Turns out he wasn't even in the location the petitioner told me it would be  Was tough too, especially as he restored himself twice. But I got him in the end (Blind = godsend) :D

EDIT

A trailer for the upcoming Dissidia

Looks lovely. Just hope the controls are suitable enough for a PSP game.

The trailer was anticipating. The controlling system would be alright if you've been used to the PSP.

A cinematic trailer for FFVII : Crisis Core is available

I didn't realise the graphics would look so good for a PSP game! Combat system looks pretty good as well. I'm more interested in it now than I was before.

Finally!!! Game looks nice.

Makes me want a new port of the original FFVII with updated graphics even more. Doesn't have to be ps3, ps2 or psp would be good enough.

^ They really shouldn't have done that demonstration of the PS3 by re-creating the opening scene of FFVII. Don't get me wrong, I think it would be amazing, and what a way to boost PS3 sales, but I bet even now, Square-Enix is recieving hundreds of fanboy emails about a remake

^Well, at least they're shoving out FF7 merchandise like crazy this year. :jerk:

Like in the recent FFVII 10th Anniversary Gallery (from Dengeki Online):
http://dps.dengekionline.com/2007/08/final_fantasy_vii_10th_anniver_2.html

They showed this:
FF7 Potion

FF7 Potion +Trading Arts Mini

Me wants!!! :inlove:

Tifa poster (from Impress Watch):

Me wants x 4000!!

Meant to link this ages ago, but oh well, it's the thought that counts! Gametrailers.com are showing a Final Fantasy Retrospective that delivers a documentary style look at each game. Each episode lasts about 15 mins and is pretty informative. It's good for those who want to know more about any editions they don't know about or even merely for nostalgia's sake for those that do.

Episode 1 - FFI

Episode 2 - FFII & FFIII

Episode 3 - FFIV & FFV

Episode 4 - FFVI

Episode 5 - FFVII

Episode 6 - FFVIII & FFIV

Episode 7 - FFX

Next week will focus on FFXI

Episode 8 of the FF Retrospective - FFXI

Next week looks good. Covers all of Ivalice so that will be FFXII and the Tactics game.

Square-Enix unveiled their line up for the TGS and it goes like this:

Quote
    * Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates - Playable
    * Final Fantasy Tactics A2 - Trailer and Playable
    * Final Fantasy IV - Trailer and Playable
    * Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon - Trailer and Playable
    * Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII - Trailer and Playable
    * Dragon Quest Monster Battle Road - Playable
    * Dragon Quest Monsters Joker- Playable
    * Slime Mori Mori Dragon Quest 2 - Playable
    * Dragon Quest IV - Playable and Trailer
    * The Last Remnant - Trailer
    * Dragon Quest IX - Trailer
    * Final Fantasy XI Online: Divine Soldiers of Atlanta - Trailer
    * Final Fantasy VII Advent Children: Complete - Trailer
    * Final Fantasy XIII - Undecided
    * Final Fantasy Versus XIII - Undecided
    * Final Fantasy Agito XIII - Undecided
    * Final Fantasy Dissidia - Undecided

Note, by undecided, it means the developers don't know whether it will be playable, or a trailer shown, or both. Sounds to me like if there was a playable demo available, they'd use it. I don't mind, a new trailer would be just fine by me!

Btw, does anyone know when FF:Tactics - War Of The Lions comes out for the PSP in America? I understand it's pretty soon and if so then I think I will get an import it.

^ US = October 9th.

I'm sure they'd show more Dissidia character stuff. They've only shown around 6 characters.  :P

Wow really? It seems we get it over here first as it's released on the 5th. For once, Square Enix doesn't have to make the Euro fanboys wait! :D

Okay, if u beat the PSP FF7 Crisis Core twice...there's a new ff7 trailer...but some say its just the ps3 tech demo from 2 years ago...but then some disagree and say its a remake of the ps3 tech demo from 2 years ago, wtf? lol

and at the end:

Remember, there is still 10 years left of FF7 milkage, says Square-Enix.

but anyways, if that doesn't get u wtf'ing, this will:

Leaked FF8-2 pic

WTF?! RINOA!?

i guess this might clear up the doubters of Ultimecia = Rinoa..
