I was so happy to see Rinoa show up for the fight. I think it would have been pretty cool if he had included Quistis with her whip instead of that girl from KH, I think her name is Kairi. But thats just cause I never finished KH.

I do also hope Helena shows up as well.

Immediately go download an NES emulator and the orignal FF1. That one makes the new release look like a pre-school game, I swear. They made all of them SUPER easy when the original was really pretty difficult... so if you're looking for a challenge...

Well after a year and 2 months, I've finally completed FFXII! XD Good thing about the final boss was he was as hard as nails, something which wasn't true with FFX I thought. Anyway, absolutely loved the game. Personally loved the gambit system and the gameplay in general,  accessible but also can be as complex as you want it to be. Loved the story, characters, graphics, audio, voice-acting and just the world of Ivalice in general. Also an incredible depth in side quests to undertake. It's a mammoth game which I clocked 110+ hours with and yet still haven't beaten every mark, sub-boss or collected every esper. The only criticism I can level at it is that some items, quests are nigh on impossible to obtain or complete without a walkthrough. But then that's as much a staple of the FF series as chocobo's or moogles. So uh, yeh, fantastic game, and probably my fav FF to date.

Still contemplating on Revenant Wings though. I'm hearing mixed reviews and it's probably better if I can get it at a cheaper price. Besides, War Of The Lions is still keeping me in touch with Ivalice for the time being.

And although it's not due out until June here in the UK, I've pre-ordered Crisis Core. Now that looks like so much fun to play. For those that have played it, is it really true that there's 300+ side missions? :o The included 'Hard' mode is also a big plus in my book, and when I saw that the European release gets a sexy artbook attached with it, well I just couldn't resist! :D

^congrats. I hope to finish FFXII one day too  I'm into the Feywood, but I don't feel like playing anymore. I'm @ that boss that drains your magick and you have to use regular items to heal up and stuff. I kept dying and I don't feel like teleporting to somewhere to get better equipment en x-potions. It's still my fav FF game by far.

@ Tuffty: You NEED to play Crisis Core!! I absolutely love it! Not sure if it has over 300 missions, but it ranges from easy to hard. Plus, the fight with Sephiroth(one FMV where is fighting Genesis is awesome!) later in the game is so cool!

Final Fantasy Retrospective XIII - The final part of the series which covers a review of the common themes that you'd expect in FF games and looks to the future

wow reviewing all the past FF installments makes me want to play them again.

Wow, now I really can't wait! I heard the boss battle song remixed for the game and it brings back some good memories. And this fight with Sephiroth sounds promising. Fighting him in KHII was epic, but then it usually is when he's involved

Is the Digital Mind Wave as confusing and awkward as reviewers make it out to be? Doesn't seem that way too me, I heard the game is designed to make it not so random when it comes to levelling up.

I dropped Crisis Core even though it was a lot of fun (remixed battle music, hell yeah!) as I totally crashed doing ALL available side-quests (I am one of those crazy find EVERYTHING, then find out i don't need it and never use it, guys) before continuing the story, for......
...... FFIII on SNES emulator!!! {insert opera scene music here}

I've been playing this same bloody game ever since '95. And always unable to get past the fight between Sabin and Vargas, not knowing how to enter the friggin combo then dying from the timer (I tried crazily to enter the combo on the spark, but always failing...).
I've been playing the game again every 1-2 years (continuously hearing it being heralded as being one of the best FF games in the series, even now), then dying again and again and again (gaming heart crying here~). Hell was raining.

Recently watched it on Screwattack's top 20 SNES games, and so tried FFIII again and I suddenly got it. I don't enter the combo at the spark cos that's too late! I enter it AFTER selecting Blitz.... then pressing A again to confirm...... so many years.....so many lost years....

I've now just got to the Esper Realm. ah, FF in 2D. How it was meant to be.

Good thing for Atlus  :otomerika:

I picked up FFX2. Can I play it without really having played FFX?

I do own FFX actually, but could never get really into it. I hope I'll like X2 better.

^ 10 was my favorite Final Fantasy (Note that i never finish FF7 because my disc was scratched). The storyline in 10 will get better the longer you play. I'd recommend beating FFX before starting FFX-2. After beating FFX you kinda feel the story was incomplete. FFX-2 basically gives you closure for FFX.  Though i didn't enjoy FFX-2 as much as FFX.

Today's a glorious day. After nearly two months of retrying and level grinding, I've finally defeated Wiegraf/Belias in Final Fantasy Tactics. Thank God I had a seperate save otherwise I may have never ever gotten past him. The winning party consisted of Ramza as a ninja, 2 other ninjas, an arithmetician and Argrias the Holy Knight.

Playing Crisis Core and it's kicking my ass! Starting off on hard you see, makes it a bit more challenging and hopefully a bit of longevity out of it. But even playing last night I died twice trying to storm the fortress XD Getting into the swing of things though, but the boss battle in the arena is tough. It's Twin Tomahawk attacks takes over half of my life away. Oh well, got to suck it up and persevere, that's why I chose hard in the first place! Love it already, full of nice nostalgic touches.

A new trailer for Final Fantasy : Dissidia (or is it Dissidia : Final Fantasy?)

So it's a SSBB kind of gameplay mechanic. Some characters revealed including some heroes like Squall, Zidane, Tidus and some villains like Ultemecia, Kuja and naturally, Sephiroth. Pretty cool looking Squall v Sephiroth fight at the end of the trailer. :D So I presume if there's going to be at least 1 hero and 1 villain from certain instalments, like Cloud/Sephiroth, Zidane/Kuja etc who could FFX's combo be? Zidane/Jecht? Are there bound to include more characters like Tifa or Auron?
