Today's a happy day for SE fanboys like myself. :D

I am SO excited for Final Fantasy 13-2 since I LOVED 13 and cannot wait for the sequel. Versus looks astounding and the battle system looks amazing and so much like Crisis Core that I know it's gonna be a brilliant game.

Final Fantasy Agito 13 has been renamed as Final Fantasy Type-0:

http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/18/final-fantasy-type-0-is-new-name-for-final-fantasy-agito-xiii/

It also seems to be that Agito (I'm still gonna call it that) will be on 2 UMDs

According to my friend who watched the stream it's supposedly confirmed that Yuna will be playable in Duodecim

I so want to watch the XIII-2 trailer but apparently it's got massive spoilers for the end of XIII :nervous I'm deeply curious about it after hearing the developers come out and say they'll look to address complaints levelled against XIII. Who honestly knows what that game could end up being?

Versus looks fantastic but as coachie says, really sucks if you're not a PS3 owner :(  Always have been excited by Dissida Duodecim and now Type 0. Two UMD's? :o

Two other characters for Duodecim were confirmed but not mentioned

Quote
Prishe, the non-playable character from Final Fantasy XI, is in PSP section game Dissidia 012[duodecim] Final Fantasy, Square Enix has announced.

Prishe is a young Elvaan who played a starring role in the Chains of Promathia expansion to the MMORPG. She swears a lot, apparently, and is similar to FFVII's Tifa in terms of fighting style.

Also included is Gilgamesh from Final Fantasy V, who joins the Chaos side.

Confirmation comes from a Square Enix press event in Tokyo, where a demo called Dissidia012 Prologus was announced. It's described as bigger than a normal demo, but will cost money – 300 yen to download to a PSP.

If you buy the Prologus you'll get FFVII's Aerith as a support-only character in the game.

The demo is out today in Japan.

So the cast list still isn't final...if Aerith is support only, what are the odds of making the game completely broken if she can make the player invincible? XD

there's a version of the trailer that leaves out the ending parts of FF XIII, but it's really crappy quality and no sound

I thought, Yuna's second outfit would be her X-2 outfit but wrong! XD
Her second outfit will be her wedding dress from X!

It could turn out to be a really good thing. It's not too dissimilar from the first Assassin's Creed game, largely criticised and panned by critics and the public for being too repetitive and not being the truly next-gen game people had such high expecations for. Sound familiar? But the development team listened to the criticism and came back with AC2, a sequel many people believed was unwarranted and ill deserved. But it punctured expectations brilliantly and now it's widely regarded as being fantastic. Not necessarily saying XIII-2 will be the same but, it could.

Reached the Faultwarrens in XIII. Tonberry was easier than expected! :nervous I thought you were going to have to have to fight Titan but it doesn't appear to be the case. Oh well. Best prepare myself, there's a few monsters to work my way through and they don't appear to be easy! Bring it!

^ hehe, I thought he was easy, too compared to other ff's. If your characters are fast attackers one doesn't stand a chance.
Have fun with the other creature's there and I'll be waiting what your opinion on the Final Boss there is.

I hope that the changes they'll make for XIII-2 taken from fan complaints/suggestions doesn't involve changing Lightning's character. I remember alot of people making fun of her and generally bashing her because she was (in their opinion) too masculine and not a "real" woman (whatever that means)
I swear if they take away any of her kick-assness, independance and competence I'll never buy a S-E game EVER again!

^ That's BS, cause they'd most likely be the same people to then turn around and cry out that it's sexist to have a female character who has to rely on a man in some way.

Part of the problem for SE is that too many people have their own opinions on where the series should go. Some want a complete reboot, others want a return to Midgar. Some want the combat to stick, others want to get rid of turn based combat completely. Some want a branching story with moral choices, others want a structured story that tells a good yarn. None of the above points are invalid, they are opinions after all, but I'm sure it must be hard for SE to keep everyone happy.

Slight spoilers ahead but, if your want to take a look at some of Dissidia characters alternate costumes, look no further. Garland's is awesome!
