I hated the White Glove Society, I tried doing the quest without sneaking in any weapons and got myself into an fistfight that lasted 30 minutes  Should've added some points into unarmed fighting.

I hope you went to Tops after talking to House first unlike me or you miss some EXP potential

^ I finally got that dude after finishing some more quest on the Strip, if I want to keep a neutral standing with the Legion I have to fire Boone

dont fire him if you still want his perk. just tell him to wait at the lucky 38 suite for you. that way he wont go all gung ho on the legions

Damn, now I need to find those other 2 companions I left behind

Heading west from the Strip past vault 22, seem to bypass everything on the left side due to my first and only encounter with Deathclaws.

Ok I finally managed to finish it, but it became a complete clusterfuck at the end. I'm kinda pissed off because I got a bug where I was locked out of the strip gates and that on top of another bug where I defused the bomb on the monorail but it still blew up so I had no way in.... I broke so many quests because of bugs, sneaking where I wasn't supposed to be ect. made the game worse and worse as things built up.

Compared to Fallout 3
+ Companions play a bigger role and have their own cool quests to complete to earn extra perks
+ I love the gun mods
+ The new ammo types are cool to have
+ The melee special moves are a good idea
+ The iron sights made non vats gun combat a little more manageable
+ Lots of new weapons
+ The enemy variants are nice (baby, big ones, different colors)
+ There were a couple of the quests that were spectacular, on par with the best of F3s (I think vault 11 was better than any of the vaults in F3)
- The Vegas setting isn't nearly as cool or lovingly crafted as DC was
- 80% of the buildings you can't go in compared to F3 where you could go in pretty much any building
- The end battle wasn't as epic as F3 and for me was messed up because of bugs
- The locations in the world aren't as diverse and most are just faction camps and you have to go around just to find the named NPC only to discover the quest is just back and forth busy work with no reward except for useless faction karma or whatever. There were so many times where I did a quest and was like "the hell was the point of that besides wasting time?"
- The factions are just annoying
- Once I got to level 30 I didn't feel as compelled to explore every location like I was in F3
- The Enclave were cool ass enemies where as the ones in this (caesar's legion) are kinda silly
- Not nearly as many completely new animals or enemy types as I expected, a lot of recycled assets
- My companions disappeared all the fricking time and it can be really annoying when you have to tell them to stay put to get into somewhere but you cant because they are gone
- The crafting is tacked on but doesn't take away from anything if you don't use it at all
- Holy shit bugs, glitches, messed up quest scripting like nothing I have ever seen before! UGH!!

Overall if you liked Fallout 3 this is great. More of that but with some good tweeks but not as memorable of a world, less dungeon crawling and a over convoluted main quest with the factions. Slightly disappointing but still has that beautifully addictive core and you get your monies worth for sure.

^lol i hate it when the companions just showed up randomly even though you told em to wait at another place far away from your location.

plus Rex is just the most retarded dog ever. dude just attacks and stray off by himself so many times and get himself killed.

cant wait to finish the good karma side. im just gonna shoot everyone i see without doing any quests for my bad karma playthru

Just got Fallout New Vegas a couple of days ago, and really getting into it now. I wonder how long I'll be able to play for, considering I already had to lower the difficulty to Easy because I was dying every time I met an enemy

I'm also already finding it really difficult to decide who to help/side with 8D I end up doing completely random crap. My character is the most fickle person ever :nervous wonder if that'll come back to haunt me later on, hahaha.... <,<;;

I end up playing Fallout like a survival horror. Sneaking along, sitting at the edge of my seat, freaking out whenever an enemy comes near. Fffff. I ended up having to watch most of Fallout3, because the atmosphere really got to me. I couldn't bring myself to play, made me feel uneasy :nervous

Just started Fallout 3 GOTY edition. Wanted it for a looooong time but only just been able to buy it when I found it for £10 (approx $15) so I'm pleased. I was gonna be good till I realised you could blow Megaton up...I turned bad at that exact moment. XD

Bump? :D

I have Fallout 3 now... Only played it for a bit, but I already like it better than New Vegas... I mean, that intro is a lot of fun  Wut

I totally sucked at escaping the vault though, didn't pick up most anything useful, kept getting lost inside the vault, chased by dudes, nearly died by the time I got out... Yeah.

But I survived :P

My character, Lumy:

OK I'm still playing Fallout 3 and I'm so addicted to it.

I'm still quite bad at it, though. I feel that my character is leveling up too fast, because my actual strategy skills aren't evolving as fast and so, the enemies keep leveling up as well, yet I don't have the skills to easily kill them. For example, I've bumped into a Deathclaw twice and both times it killed my dog and I had to reload the game (which is mostly no issue because I save the game All The Fucking Time, but still)...

Anyway I now have a dog and a Paladin following me around. I have very good karma, I am basically Jesus. I've only got bad karma once for punching a kid, which is what I thought I had to do to get forward with the story (turns out not, oh well)...

I kinda feel my spending points on sneak are going to waste a bit because I travel with the dog. The dog always spots the enemies and the enemies spot the dog, and then I have to run in to rescue my dog so they see me as well. LOL So I had almost considered just leaving the dog behind, but now I have this paladin lady as well, and I wanna see how the chemistry works now. It will probably be even worse than before, but hey, we'll see.

I hate super mutants by the way.

Yeh the dog and companion gives your stealth game away cause they just charge the enemy straight away. The same issue occurs in Skyrim too. You can always ask them to stop, do your thing and the come back to them but it is a pain, I'll agree. But they're useful though, you would hardly leave them behind considering they can help soak up bullets for you.

Well I think I let my doggie have his heroic death. ;_; RIP Dogmeat. Just got tired of having to restart stuff because of him dying. At least the other followers aren't as vulnerable because they can shoot at enemies from afar. My doggie would run at enemies and they would shoot him right in the face or beat him into a pulp and I'd have no idea where he even is because using VAT means I lose "real time" during which my dog can run somewhere else etc. I'm of course talking about instances when we are fighting a bigger crowd of enemies, one or two tend to be a piece of cake but when it's like six, it's fucking chaos. LOL

I got quite far in the main storyline apparently, maybe even too far for my own comfort because now I have the enclave people on my ass and every time I hear a helicopter I feel like peeing my pants. But I now have Fawkes following me around and he's delightfully hilarious. "THERE YOU ARE!! WRRaaAAOOOOoaoowwwAOOOOOOoo" yelling at a fucking scorpion. And his weapon is more effective than any of mine. LOL

So, now I feel that I can't go forward with the main storyline for a while because it seems it would lead to The End and I've still got shit tons of places to discover and loot, so many stories to uncover... So I'll just have to deal with having a ton of people wanting to kill me in addition to the normal monsters and raiders. Good times.
