Wasuremono"Ne Riho, left anything behind today?"
Ikuta Erina, otherwise known as Eripon, laughed and ducked as her younger gen-mate tossed a random object at her head. The recipient of the teasing comment, one Sayashi Riho, huffed in mock offense as she put both hands to her hips.
"I put my cards and wallet into the same bag today so I wouldn't forget anything this time!"
"And you promptly left the whole bag behind the last time, remember?"
Riho turned to face her best friend, cheeks puffed out. "Kanon-chan! You're not helping!"
Everyone laughed. Riho flushed, but joined in eventually with a rueful smile. Falling back to the laggard of the group, ojou-sama Fukumura Mizuki was watching the antics of her younger gen-mates with her usual diffidence when Riho casually looped her arm into the older girl's, leaning comfortably into her shoulder.
"At least Mizuki-chan isn't mean to me."
Mizuki grinned impishly, leaning down and rubbing a thumb against Riho's cheek.
"Oh I don't know, aren't you getting a little plump lately...?" The older girl said in a singsong tone, giggling when Riho abruptly stopped leaning into her touch at that.
"All of you are terrible." Riho pouted, but didn't let go of Mizuki's arm. The 9th generation kids continued their light banter as they headed towards the train station from UFA headquarters.
"Riho-chan, remember the script we were going to go through?"
Kanon fell back easily to Riho's other side, the group generally shifting around as lines of conversation went this way or that. Riho stiffened visibly at that, letting go of Mizuki's arm at the same time.
"Um, really?" Riho looked vaguely panicked. She turned fully to face an amused Kanon, who put on a serious face.
"Yes, really." Kanon smirked. "Or did you forget it somewhere already?"
"Oh, Riho forgot something again? I knew it!" Eripon jogged back and pumped her fist triumphantly in the air. "Another point for me!"
Riho shifted awkwardly. "I guess I'll have to go back and get it..."
"I'll walk back with you." Mizuki offered. Kanon grinned.
"Too bad but my mother expects me home early today. I'll expect a call later in the evening ok? You better not forget!"
"Ha, she totally will! I bet she falls asleep!" No guesses who said that. Kanon grabbed Eripon's arm and yanked her away firmly, the KY continuing to expound her views whether or not anyone was listening.
"Ja ne! Good luck!" Kanon waved energetically at them before hauling Eripon away.
"So, what script is this? It's not for work is it?" Mizuki asked as they began the trek back to the office.
"It's um, for school." Riho mumbled vaguely. She pulled her jacket more firmly around herself, angling her bag so that she could hug it in front of herself. "Special project." She muttered something else inaudible under her breath. It sounded vaguely like 'embarrassing', but Mizuki couldn't be sure.
"Hmm..." Mizuki hummed to herself, content to wait if Riho was reluctant to share. The older girl casually upped her pace to match Riho (the girl was growing so fast!), reasserting the previous hold they had by slinging her arm into the crook of Riho's. It might have been her imagination, but Riho tensed briefly when she did that, though the younger girl quickly relaxed into the touch, both girls enjoying the simple contact.
They entered the building with a brief greeting at the reception, gaining entry easily since, well, they were known after all. Riho fidgeted a little while they waited at the lobby, and they entered the elevator with a couple of staff members whom they nodded politely at.
Riho immediately pressed the button for the top floor, which made Mizuki raise an eyebrow, though she said nothing. When the staff members left at floors 3 and 7 respectively, Mizuki finally opened her mouth.
"Riho-chan, you can't possibly have left anything on the top floor. That's for the executive officers..."
In between floors 8 and 9, Riho's finger found the emergency stop button, and the elevator cranked to an immediate halt. The jerk from the sudden stop yanked Mizuki off balance, sending her careening to one side before Riho deftly caught her. The younger girl was grinning sheepishly.
"Sorry, this was a setup." The grin was fearlessly unapologetic, though a trifle shy as Riho took a deep breath.
"See, I really did leave something important behind. I was hoping Mizuki-chan could help me find it."
"Oh?"
Since when did Riho get this tall? Mizuki wondered to herself idly as she found herself almost nose to nose with the newly turned 15 year old. She could feel every breath the no-longer-loli-but-still-cute girl was taking. Her hands on Riho's wrists picked up on the rapid pulsing, and she realized her own had sped up to match?
Riho leaned in even closer, her cheek brushing against Mizuki's, their favorite form of skin contact. One of them anyway. The young ace whispered into the sexy tennen's ear.
"I lost my heart. Think you could find it?"
Riho pulled abruptly away, her cheeks stained a vivid red at the boldness of her own statement. She would have stepped back too, but Mizuki hadn't yet let go of her wrists. The ace settled for looking down at her Converse-clad feet.
I am going to kill Kanon-chan, oh god, I cannot believe I just said that, oh god Haruka-chan I hate you for coming up with that line and I can't believe I listened to you oh god Eripon kill me now! No! She must never know!Hyperventilating quietly, Riho chewed on her own lower lip, not daring to look up at the older girl she had been crushing on since she joined the group.
It wasn't supposed to happen this way. She joined Morning Musume with the very specific intent on bringing the group back to its former glory. To stand at the very top, because she could settle for no less. She auditioned knowing that she could and would meet all challenges, and she would never back down from the hard work needed to succeed.
Friends were optional. Her generation mates were a shock to her at first, Eripon and Kanon-chan breaching her natural reserve with their effusive effervescence. They taught her how to take life a little less seriously, how to have fun like a normal kid. She smiled more with them. It was hard not to.
And then there was Mizuki. Riho wanted to be like her. Quiet, reserved, elegant. Beautiful. To the 12 year old Riho at the auditions, Mizuki was the ideal woman. She wanted to become exactly like that.
Funny how things worked out. Their laidback auras and hardworking nature left little conflict in their working relationship. It was easy to escape to Mizuki's side when the energy of Kanon-chan or Eripon threatened to overwhelm her. Sure it was fun to play and be crazy with the rest, but Riho needed a break once in a while. Mizuki was her safe place.
It also helped that her skin was so wonderfully soft and comforting and everything else in between. Riho hadn't even known that she had a fetish until she met Mizuki. Which said a lot. She loved snuggling up to the older girl, and Mizuki was always up for some skinship.
When did the lines blur? Possibly with the entrance of 10th gen. Seeing her Mizuki-chan so happy to be with her former comrade from the Eggs sent a shot of something approaching jealousy as it took away from her Mizuki time. Determined not to lose, Riho had approached one Kudou Haruka, and to her own surprise found that she got along just fine with the husky voiced girl. In fact, if Kanon-chan was her best friend, Haruka was probably a buddy, a best mate. They fought a lot, but they instinctively got each other. They were rivals, but friendly rivals. Riho was honored to have a rival like that, and they were near-inseparable.
It was one of her random conversations with Haruka that had set things up leading in this direction. In one of her off tangent rants over how much she loved Mizuki's skin, Haruka had interrupted with an incisive:
"Aren't you a bit too obsessed with Fukuchan?"
"Am not! She's just...amazing! It's like..." Riho attempted to defend herself, but Haruka had shot down every single one of her objections.
"Riho. You are obsessed. You need help."
Haruka just had to ask Reina, though she had the sense to not be direct about it. Riho, who was lurking in the background when Haruka went to consult with their senpai, nearly fell over from shock when Reina's casual reply came.
"Sounds like a crush to me. Pretty common at your age."
The cat-like senpai smirked mysteriously at that, muttering something about "this kids..." before going back to her magazine.
"I have a problem."
Riho stated bluntly when she was alone with Haruka.
Haruka's reply was equally succinct.
"Yes."
Then they stared at each other and started laughing.
That was months ago. Somehow in the intervening time Kanon-chan had found out about it, and that was when the serious plotting began. They kept it to themselves, and Riho dragged her feet wherever she could. She was content with the status quo, where she could initiate casual contact with her Mizuki-chan as and when she liked it. It was less complicated. Besides, they were both girls! Never mind Michishige-san, Riho quickly added, when Haruka looked like she was on the verge of saying something. Kanon just laughed at them, though all three kept an eye out for their lolicon leader out of habit.
Trying to dismiss it as a crush was hard. Riho went about as usual to keep suspicion to a minimum, but she couldn't long resist snuggling up to Mizuki, or glowering vaguely whenever someone else latched onto the older girl. It was, as she noted at the beginning, a problem.
Kanon advocated a direct confrontation, which Haruka supported. With both her self appointed advisors urging the same course of action, Riho eventually caved to their prodding, not to mention her own inability to shake the fuzzy feelings whenever she was close to Mizuki.
"Besides, if she rejects you, then at least you can get over it." Haruka observed. Kanon scoffed.
"As if! In case you didn't notice, Fukuchan is just as much of a lolicon for Riho-chan as Michishige-san is!"
"What."
The argument that resulted after that is completely insignificant and probably would warrant another story. Let us return to the present, where Riho's gaze was close to boring a hole into her favorite pair of sneakers.
"Riho." Mizuki's voice was gentle. She shifted her grasp down to Riho's hands, squeezing them lightly.
"Mmgh." Riho made a little incoherent sound that seemed vaguely strangled. If Sayumi had been around she would have glomped the girl with no remorse already. Mizuki, however, was a lady and therefore more restrained.
Riho eeped when warm arms looped around her neck, and the familiar feel of Mizuki's forehead rested against her own. Despite herself, Riho's breath caught in her throat, and she stopped breathing entirely.
"You're so cute, Riho-chan." Mizuki murmured, half to herself. Her voice seemed huskier than usual, darker and more seductive. Riho gulped. What had she gotten herself into?
~*~*~*~
"You didn't call last night " Kanon noted calmly. Her arms were folded. Her toes were tapping against the floor. She waited.
Riho turned an interesting shade of vermilion. Eripon, who was strolling by, couldn't resist.
"I told you she would fall asleep! Right, am I right Riho?" The KY paused, frowning thoughtfully. "Isn't that blouse Mizuki's?"
Dead silence. Eripon, used to the effect she often created, shrugged and moved on. Kanon's eyes were the size of dinnerplates. Her mouth moved wordlessly for a moment, then snapped shut.
"I don't even want to ask."
Riho flailed helplessly after her best friend. "It's not what you think! Kanon-chan! Really!"
"It's ok Riho-chan. I understand. You don't need to explain."
Riho turned helplessly to her buddy, who was slouched in a corner poring over a script for the variety show they were appearing in.
"Haruka-chan, say something!"
"Was her skin really smooth?" She didn't even look up. Unthinkingly, Riho snapped a reply in the affirmative, then clamped a hand over her own mouth and whimpered pitifully. Kanon couldn't hold it in any longer and started laughing, then stopped abruptly when Mizuki sauntered over, casually draping her arms over Riho's shoulders from behind, hugging the younger girl in greeting.
"Good morning Kanon-chan. I hope you slept well last night?" Mizuki smiled beneficiently, but Kanon got a distinct shiver up her spine at the territorial manner the older girl so casually displayed.
"Oh yes, very, ah! Maachan! What are you eating? I'll catch you later guys!" Kanon beat a skilful and hasty retreat, leaving a bemused Riho and a giggling Mizuki behind.
Riho grinned up at the older girl. Mizuki laughed and pressed a cheek to Riho's, nuzzling comfortably as she walked backward to sit down on a nearby chair, Riho naturally falling onto her lap.
"They all think the worst now..." Riho murmured, turning her face to press against Mizuki's neck, inhaling slowly. The older girl giggled.
"Let them." Pulling Riho closer, Mizuki whispered into her ear.
"We might get there eventually..."
Haruka snuck away as Riho turned yet another interesting shade of crimson. Things were going to get interesting around here...
=============================
Yes I went and did it. Fukuchan x Riho. Ahahaha. I couldn't resist.

P.S. I wrote the whole thing on my phone, so yup. Interestingly, I managed to forget my own wallet back at work and so had to go back for it. Funny how my life parallels my art.

"Wasuremono" indeed! Riho is well known by now for leaving things behind all the time. She has mentioned this on her radio several times, and I figured I might as well do something about it. Ehehehe.

Hope the gushing fluff was good for everyone too!
