T: Because I live in Jeon-La-Do (전라도): Chun-Ju (전주), it took me 13 hours to get home last Chuseok (추
석) even when I rode in car. And it was very difficult. Also, we have a schedule the very next day after our

JR: Taeyeon lives in Chun-Ju, i see.

KI: I personally feel, as an oppa, upset to hear you staying in your dorm by yourself.

T: Ah, but this time, my parents will be coming up instead of me visiting them...

me worried for no reason!

JR: Still, you must want to go back to your home and you also have a lot of friends over there too right?

T: Yes, since it's my hometown and all.

JR: Taeyeon 양, would you like to take this chance to say something to your friends?

KI & JR: Of course it is!

T: Um. To my missed friends, we are an adult and have also graduated now. I feel really sad not being

My younger sister is an elementary student right now and I also have an oppa.

T: Yes, I'm stuck in the middle between the two.

JR: Isn't it tough being in the middle? Is it okay?

T: Ah it's very tough. (laughs)

JR: Then would you like to say something to your younger sister and oppa as well?

T: Ah yes. To our pretty maknae (막내) Ha-Yeon, despite being an elementary student, it seemed like you
have a lot of stress with school. I'm sorry for not being able to help you as an unni (언니). And I wish you
can just grow up well & pretty like your unni (laughs). Love you Ha-Yeon!

KI: Taeyeon 양, I'm sure everyone will agree that if you say the year 2007/2008 was/will be the year of
SNSD. You guys worked really hard without resting much. Why won't you also say something to your
parents that have been trusting, helping, and believing in you throughout the years?

T: I've been thinking of my mom a lot lately, since it was the holidays. First of all, thank you for raising,
cherishing, and taking care of me until I was 20 years old. And, I feel like I'm just troubling you guys by
having you guys come up here when I should be going down myself and I'm really sorry about that. I also
feel bad for having my mom listen to my complaints and grumbles after my schedules. I also used to act
coldly, without any ageyo, to my dad even though I was the older daughter... Truthfully, I am very
happy to be able to spend some time, even if it is a day only, with my parents. I will continue being a
hard-working Taeyeon and a proud daughter for you. So please love your SNSD's Taeyeon, your daughter
Taeyeon, more and more. I love you mom and dad.

KI: Taeyeon is such a nice girl.

JR: She's so lovable.

I read the first part in class but couldn't read the rest so I was thinking she spent her holiday alone

But it's great to hear her family visited her!

So she's 20 already in Korea age? o_O
Or is it like she's turning 20 this year?

Yeah I understand that much.

But in the little interview thing on the radio, they talk as if she's already 20, when her birthday is still about a month away. I'm just wondering if it's something significant to their culture, or if something is just lost in translation.

Anyways, it's great news about her solo song. I still listen to it every night before I go to bed

Ah, that's the same in Chinese culture too.

Mom used to say Happy B-day, you are now xx years old, but in Chinese year you are one year older.

And no, the Japanese don't really use that, but they do celebrate coming of age in January for everybody who is turning 20 even if your b-day is at the end of the year.

Aww, leader is going to be an adult this year.
