update!!!

3.   Cooking oil

Rika pulled away from Hitomi’s hand and walked to the shelf. She tried to pick up a gallon but it was too heavy.

“You’re going to get yourself hurt, doing that.” Hitomi went to the shelf “Let me…”

Rika stood aside as Hitomi picked up the too-heavy-for-Rika-to-carry gallon.” After placing it on the cart, Hitomi took Rika’s hand again in hers. “If there’s something you want to buy that’s a bit heavy, just tell me. I’ll get it for you, okay, Rika-chan?”

Rika smiled. Hicchan’s such a gentleman... Her hand is so warm…

They went on walking to the corner of the supermarket. Rika leaned her head on Hitomi’s shoulder every now and then.Hitomi walked on proud holding Rika’s hand.  Hitomi could see how envious the other guys in the store were of her.

Rika looked at the last thing on their list.

4.   Rice

Rika saw the sacks of rice in the one of the shelves in the corner. She tugged at Hitomi’s sleeve.

“Nani?”

Rika pointed at the sacks.

Hitomi pushed the cart a bit closer and rubbed her hands. Rika looked among the sacks. Sinandomeng or Jasmin? She couldn’t decide.  She looked at Hitomi. “Which do you prefer?"

Hitomi had no idea of which to pick. “Ayaka is usually the one who buys me rice… so I don’t know which to buy.”

Rika laughed at the thought of Ayaka having to buy rice for Hitomi. Ayaka acts like she is Hicchan’s mom.

“Let’s go with this one.” Hitomi picked up a sack labeled Jasmin. “The name had a nice ring to it.” She placed it in the bottom part of the cart, away from the chicken, eggs and cooking oil. Rika folded the paper with the list and placed it in her pocket.

“We’re done? That is all we need to buy?”

“Ayaka constantly buys stuff for the house. These are the only things she has missed out. Ayaka’s really been looking out for you.”

Hitomi laughed. “Yeah, she’d make a great mom.”

The two proceeded to the counter where the cashier. “Good morning sir, Cash or card po?”

“Card”

The cashier began passing each item through the bar code reader. After four beeps, Hitomi handed her a credit card.

“I received a Citibank Visa card from Mr. Hitomi Yoshizawa.”

“Yes.”

“Just a moment, sir”

The cashier swiped the card and pressed the necessary buttons.

After the transaction was over, the cashier looked at the two and commented to Hitomi “Sir, bagay po kayo ni ma’am.”

Hitomi just smiled at the cashier as she had no idea what she said.

The bagger loaded their purchased items on a cart. Hitomi took the cart and pushed it to the exit.

As they were walking away, she asked Rika. “Do you have any idea what that cashier said?”

Rika was blushing the whole time and didn’t know if she should translate. That would be a bit embarrassing. She finally took out her sketchbook again. “She said, you and I look good together…”

“No way! You just made that up!” Hitomi teased Rika but was amazed at how much Rika understood Filipino. Well, she has been her for five years.

I didn’t! Rika crossed her arms across her her chest and walked away from Hitomi.

“Hey, I was just kidding!” Hitomi sped up to catch up with her.

Rika continued to walk, increasing her speed, leaving Hitomi behind.

“Rika!”

Rika did not  slow down. She was smiling to herself, pleased that Hitomi was running after her.

Hitomi sped up even more, finally catching up with Rika. “I really think we look good together…”

Rika suddenly stopped and gave Hitomi a quick peck on the cheek before running out the store and back to the car.

short update...

Hitomi glanced at Rika as she was driving through Ayala Avenue. Is it in my place to ruin your moment of bliss? Rika looked so carefree.

Rika was looking outside. They passed by a group of teenagers walking out of a sports club. Hitomi noticed Rika’s interest in two of them, who were carrying tennis rackets. “I heard from Ayumi that you guys played tennis in middle school and high school.”

Rika, still gazing at the tennis rackets just nodded.

“She said you won the nationals for doubles.”

Rika looked at Hitomi and nodded. When they stopped as the traffic light turned red, she did her Charmy pose.

“That must be your victory pose. I was an athlete too, you know? I really don’t want to brag but I played volleyball in middle school, basketball in high school and soccer at the university. Mai, Ayaya and Miki were my soccer teammates. I was team captain for all three sports.” In truth, Hitomi really just wanted to brag.

Rika was amazed and amused. She knew Hitomi was telling the truth but she also felt Hitomi’s arrogance. But it was arrogance in a good way… or in a kakkoi and very attractive way. She really wanted to tell Hitomi so. But there were so many things she wasn’t ready to say yet. Speaking would only leave her vulnerable to questions she wasn’t ready to answer.I’m sorry Hicchan, I’m just not ready.

Rika and Hitomi got back to the flat carrying the groceries they just bought. It was already late in the afternoon. The two didn’t really feel like eating so they decided to skip lunch. Rika carried the eggs and chicken, Hitomi carried the sack of rice and the gallon of cooking oil. After placing all the items in the kitchen and after having poured the rice into the dispenser, Rika went out to the laundry room and took out their clothes.

“Hey… why did you do the laundry?”

“I was bored…”

Rika bent over to get the clothes out of the washing machine. They smelled clean and they were already dry. After placing the clothes in the laundry baskets, Rika and Hitomi found themselves on the living room couch.

“You look exhausted…”

“Well I am…”

“Why don’t you go nap?”

“I told you, I came home early to be with you… that’s all I have planned to do today…”

Hitomi sat with both feet on the couch. Rika squirmed her way between Hitomi’s legs rested her head on Hitomi’s chest.

“Nani?”

“Hicchan, why are you so good to me?”

Hitomi didn’t expect that question coming. She just wrapped her arms around Rika’s shoulders. She felt that she couldn’t keep it a secret anymore. Hitomi closed her eyes and leaned in close to Rika’s ear. “Because…Rika… I love you…”

Rika didn’t know what to do. She didn’t know what to say and how to say it. But before Rika could’ve done anything, Hitomi took her hand. “You don’t have to respond… I don’t want anything between us to change. I know you need time to think about it… just let me love you…”

now would have been a great time to start talking! Like for example get teary eyed and say "I love you too~!"

ANyways great chapter. I like how you just describe normal everyday things, but you don't go so much into it that it gets borin. I have a problem doing that...always end up writing every single detail, down to the last cell XD

Ohhh I wanna know what happens next!~ I hope Rika does something equally sweet cause it's almost unfair to Yoshi!

Ayaka came to the condo early in the morning to sneak in the cooking oil that she forgot to buy for Hitomi the other day. Expecting Rika to be awake this early, Ayaka was surprised to see that the whole flat was dark. She flipped on the switch of the dim lights to see Hitomi and Rika asleep on the couch in an embrace.

Aww… Yoshiko… As disrespectful as it really was, Ayaka took out her camera phone out and took a picture of the two. Mai and Ayumi are gonna love this.

She silently crept to the kitchen only to find that the two have beaten her in buying cooking oil. Oh, they went to the grocery yesterday.  Ayaka then inspected the rice dispenser. Yoshiko, buying her own rice? A miracle! Ayaka could just imagine how kawaii the two probably looked while buying the groceries.

She turned off the dim lights and exited the way she came in.

About an hour and half later, Hitomi woke up first. Finally, she beat Rika who was still snoozing away on her chest. Hitomi smiled. She felt Rika’s arms around her. Rika… Hitomi didn’t know what to do. Any movement from her could wake Rika up. She didn’t want to interrupt Rika’s slumber.

Hitomi looked up the clock. It’s almost six. I have to be in the office at eight. I’ll give her 30 more minutes of sleep.

She watched Rika. Rika looked so peaceful and happy. Did I make her happy yesterday?

Hitomi held Rika and stayed still. She thought about what she found out yesterday. PubCom was the first company to be passed on to me. That’s were she began in building the now internationally renowned Yoshizawa Group. In three years, she unified the separate Yoshizawa-owned companies and established Y Records. Everything about me now began with Pubcom. Rika… I’m sorry… She gently kissed Rika on the forehead.

Rika felt the Hitomi’s soft lips. She’s been awake for awhile now but didn’t want to wake up Hitomi. The kiss told her that Hitomi was already awake. She slowly got up, moving her arms from around Hitomi’s waist to around her neck. Hicchan…

“Did I wake you? Sorry…” Hitomi looked at Rika who shook her head to Hitomi’s question. Hitomi smiled at Rika. “...Good morning, Rika-chan…did you sleep well?” Rika nodded and gave Hitomi a peck on the cheek before getting up and heading into the kitchen.

Hitomi headed to the bathroom. The warmth of Rika’s skin lingered on hers and she didn’t want to wash it away with her cold shower. Rika’ scent even stuck on Hitomi. She didn’t want to wash that away either. …Aha!... Hitomi suddenly had a great epiphaniy. She snuck into Rika’s bathroom and took her target. She walked back to her bathroom with the same stealth as going into Rika’s. Good thing Rika was busy preparing her another delicious breakfast.

For this morning’s breakfast, Rika did not know what to prepare for Hitomi. She opened the pantry in search for inspiration. There was a pack of flour, and can of peaches. On the counter there are mangoes. In the fridge, there is some whipped cream and caramel syrup. Eureka!

When Hitomi arrived at the table, her food wasn’t there yet. Just some fresh mango juice and her silverware. Rika came carrying 2 plates. One plate had one crepe on it while the other, which was a little bigger, had four.

“Sugoi! Peach-mango crepe.”

Rika laid the bigger plate right in front of Hitomi. Hitomi looked down at her plate. Her eyes widened at the sight of the crepes. “Hey… I can’t eat this…” The whipped cream on top of the crepes read. “I love you too, Hicchan.”

Rika pouted at Hitomi. She worked hard to prepare that for Hitomi. She really wanted Hitomi to digest her message well, in more ways than one.

“Okay... I’ll eat this… just a sec…” Hitomi went to her room and brought out her camera phone and took pictures of the crepe from all angles. Rika laughed at the sight of Hitomi attempting to preserve the image of that crepe for all eternity.

Hitomi carefully ate the crepe starting from the outskirts moving in, towards Rika’s reply to her confession yesterday. “Mmm… good…” Hitomi said between chews. “You’re really amazing Rika-chan… not a lot of people make crepes at home… I love it…” She closed her eyes and cringed as she sliced the message into bite-sized pieces.

Hitomi looked up the clock. “Oh god! It’s 8! I’m late!”

She quickly stood up, got her briefcase and kissed Rika on the cheek. “I’ll be home at around 5, okay? I’ll see you later Rika-chan. I love you.”

Rika just smiled and nodded at Hitomi who ran out the condo in a rush. She proceeded to wash the dishes.

Rika walked back to the living room after cleaning up. She laid down on the sofa.

“Hicchan… … ”

awww she keeps saying "Hicchan" so sweet! I like how you've structured your story to be sort of like a really close diary sort of thing. Like a memoir but it also has that cute fun stuff in between. Like everyday what they eat and do and stuff. It is so cute! thank you for replying to my messages. Glad I wasn't fogotten! You're style is good with detail. You may not write much but you get the message across in a few sentences. I also hoope Rika would start talking to Yoshi soon. Who cares if she speaks to the others? lol

Great job once again, I can't wait to wake up and see if there is a morning one up or come home from school, and If I don't pass out look for a new update here etc! I look forward to more of your speedy goodness~! Wedge!

late night update!!!

Hitomi arrived late at the office. 8:30. The receptionist greeted her, “Good morning, Yoshizawa-san, some papers came in from Matsuura Motors. They’re on your desk now.”

”Thank you.”

Entering her office, Hitomi went straight to her desk to see the contracts signed.

Ayaya kept her word.

On the contract was a small post-it note that read: “Mikitty thinks your personal assistant’s been taking care of you pretty well. She said you look great.”

Hitomi smiled as she took the small note off the contract and placed in her desk. She remembered how their fathers attempted to get Miki and her together. Hitomi’s father always treated her like a son than a daughter.

They were always set up to date each other way back, even when they were still in high school.

Why shouldn’t they be an item? The daughter of Japan’s number one aviation engineer, who turned out to be a very promising aviation engineer herself (because of Ayaya) and the soon-to-be president of Japan’s fastest growing aviation company would really make a great match. Or not…

Of course, at first, when they were younger, with their innocence intact and their young minds impressionable, they also thought that way. That this was the only way to go. But they always fought, even over petty things. They were two strong personalities constantly clashing at each other.

When they got a little older, they began to see through their fathers’ schemes. Both Hitomi and Miki knew that it was all in the name of business. But they won’t have it. Miki already had an Ayaya then. That’s why Hitomi impersonated Ayaya, which Hitomi did pretty well, whenever they were together just so Miki could tolerate her in their dates. Their “relationship” was falling apart but their fathers were persistent. They just had to find a way to justify a “break-up”.

That was when the name Yoshizawa Hitomi meant 'hide your girlfriend, please, for the love of god, if you don’t want her to break up with you.' She flirted with girls everywhere and got into fist fights with guys over girls right in front of Miki and both their families and friends. Of course, Miki didn’t care but she had to fake tears just to get out of this “abusive relationship”. Only one person in the world did not buy her act Matsuura Rei, Ayaya’s father (even Ayaya bought her act which got her into a fist fight in the soccer field with Hitomi that Ayaya lost, btw). He was all for the relationship between Hitomi and Miki. She didn’t want his precious Ayaya to end up with Miki. But of course, he was helpless when Ayaya was elected company president.

Those were the fun days.

@sweeety: i hope these updates make your day...  :)

==

Hitomi checked her schedule. She just had a meeting with AviCor’s legal committee to present them the contract so they can register the “new” name of Y. AviCor and Matsuura Motors: Y-M AviAnMotoCor (Yoshizawa-Matsuura Aviation And Motors Corporation). How lame…She called Ayaka on the intercom.

“Ayaka, get the conference room ready. The legal committee should be arriving soon.”

“Okay, Yoshiko…” Ayaka laughed wildly in her head. You have absolutely no idea.

She took the contracts and other legal documents and headed to the conference room. The legal team did arrive shortly led by Atty. Nakazawa. The meeting was very brief. The team was very pleased at the speed Hitomi got Ayaya to sign.

After the meeting, Hitomi invited the team to lunch but they had a scheduled flight back to Tokyo and had to decline. Hitomi walked back to her office. The merger was a success and Hitomi wanted to celebrate with her staff tonight.

She went down to the recording studio in the 11th floor. The recording staff were stunned to see the president. They were recording the back up vocals for Goto Maki’s latest single. It was a joint project with Avex. Since talent and labor are cheaper in the Philippines, they decided to record some of the vocal and instrument tracks here, then send it to Japan for mixing. Hitomi listened to the rough mix. It sounded good. Even in it’s raw unmixed version, the single could actually sell. As Hitomi walked out of the studio, her cellphone rang.

“Moshi moshi…”

“…Ayaka… what’s up?”

“We’re going to eat lunch at the cafeteria. Care to join us?”

“Sure, I’m at the 11th floor. I’ll just meet you at the cafeteria.”

... woah... 7 hours ... no comments?!

gawd... am i losing it?

anyway...

early morning update.

“May, walang nangyayari sa’tin dito… Araw araw na tayong pumupunta dito… Yayariin na tayo ni Baldo…” (May, nothings’ happening and we come here everyday… Baldo’s going to kill us already…) The man was becoming restless.

The woman looked at her companion sternly “E, anong balak mong gawin?” (What do you plan to do?)

“Ipapanawagan na lang natin sa TV.” (Let’s advertise for her on TV)

“Bakit naman sya babalik dito kung tayo ang mananawagan sa kanya?” (Why would she come back here if she know it was us who placed that ad?)

“Oo nga… baka ipakulong pa tayo nun…” (Oh, right… She might even have us thrown in jail…)

“So, ano nang balak mo?” (So, what’s your plan?)

Just then a 10 year old boy walked out of the house the pair was watching.

An evil grin crept up the woman’s face at the sight of the boy. “May naisip ako…” ( I got something…)

“So, how was your day-off?” Mai asked Hitomi with a wide grin on her face.

“It was okay… You have something in your teeth…” Hitomi signaled Mai that it was between her incisors.

Ayumi carried on where Mai left off, “Aren’t you going to tell us what you did with Rika yesterday?”

“… We went to SM and bought groceries…” Hitomi was starting to feel suspicious about her friends questions. “Why do you want to know, anyway?”

Ayaka suddenly appeared behind Hitomi with her camera phone in hand. “Well, we just wanted to know how the two of you ended up like this…” She showed the picture she took this morning.

“Hey! That’s rude. Don’t you know better than to sneak into other people’s homes like that?”

Ayaka raised an eyebrow “I don’t hear you complain about me sneaking into your house when I bring you groceries and do your laundry…” Mai added “or me when I come over to maintain you piano.”

“Fine… “ Hitomi conceded. “I confessed to her…” She sliced a piece of the pork chop on her plate.

Ayumi and Mai leaned in closer to Hitomi “And?”

“And what?” Hitomi bit that morsel of pork chop

Ayumi bit on the carrot on her fork. “What did she say… er… write?”

“Well, yesterday, nothing”

“Nothing?”

“Yeah. Nothing. I told her that I’m giving her time to think about it.”

“And after that, you still managed to get sleep with her like this?” Ayaka pointed at the image on her phone’s screen. “I’m impressed…”

“Hey… We didn’t notice that we’ve fallen asleep.”

Ayaka sat down beside Hitomi. “So, what happened this morning?”

“I ate the best and sweetest peach mango crepes ever! I even took a picture.”

“Sure, Rika made them. But crepes aren’t the reason why you came in late, right? You smell kinda sweet this morning...” As sweet as Rika!

“Actually, it was really the crepes… Here, she made that herself…” Hitomi took out her camera phone as well and showed the picture to them.

The three looked at the phone display: a big plate with crepes and an ‘I love you too, Hicchan’ written on top in whipped cream.

“Kawaii!” the three exclaimed together. “Rika is really a sweet kawaii girl inside out.” Ayaka added.

“I know… So… it was the crepes…  it took me a while to eat it... and the traffic too…”

“... So, how come you smell like her now? You can’t get that from just eating crepes…” Ayaka and Mai had an evil grin on their faces.

“As embarrassing as it may sound…”

“Yes?...” The three rubbed their hands together

“I…”
