UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hitomi held the plate on her left hand and ate alternately using her free hand for the chicken and a spoon for the rice as there wasn't enough room on the table to accomodate them all. She sat down on the couch on the other side of the room and ate her fill there.

Gentleman's code: always let the ladies enjoy conviniences.

The chicken adobo tasted good. Actually, Hitomi thought it tasted too good for food served from a hospital cafeteria. They must have used a lot of MSG. She ate heartily but quickly. Upon finishing her meal, even though it might come out as a bit rude, she observed Rika eat.

Rika delicately deboned the chicken before eating it. She never opened her mouth too wide. She took small bites. She chewed her food very thoroughly.

She didn't speak while eating even though Eula was talking to her. She just nodded and smiled in response to what her 'step-aunt' was saying, which Hitomi did not understand. She drank little and wiped her mouth constantly. She must really have been raised to be a high-society wife.

Hitomi thought Rika really was very much like her own mother, Tsukiko. Always refined outside the home, when facing the public. Of course at home, she could get sloppy but never when there are other people around.

Hitomi looked out the window again. The rain had stopped. The winds have calmed down. It seems that the typhoon has been moving quicker than expected. It's moving northwards, to Hong Kong. Hopefully by tomorrow, it would have left the Philippines completely.

If there was time for them to leave, that time was now. Even though the typhoon is moving away, it could still pull in some rain. It would be best for them to leave while the rain is on a break.

Rika glanced at Hitomi looking out the window. "Oh, the rain has stopped."

Rika stood up and approached Hitomi. She took the plate from Hitomi's hand and brought it to the table.  "Let's go home now, To-chan... It might start raining again..."

Hitomi nodded. She stood up and approached the boy lying on the bed. As a farewell, she patted the boy on the shoulder with a prayer of recovery. She then turned to Eula and made mano again, following Rika.

"Tita, mauna na po kami. Pupunta na lang po ako bukas ng umaga." (Tita, we'll be going ahead. I'll come over tomorrow morning.)

"Salamat, iha. Salamat din po, Mr. Yoshiza--"

Hitomi smiled as she interupted Eula and with effort and accent corrected her. "Ms.Yoshizawa po. I hope I can do more to help you. I hope to see you again soon."

The two turned away and walked themselves out the door while a stunned Eula stayed seated on the chair by the table. "Ms... ?"

EDIT: Hmm, I still have a bad feeling about how it will go in the next few chapters.. That Mayumi is such a bitch! Anyway, Yossi should just get the question off her chest and I support the campaign for conserving water. The poor earth is dying of love and so is ishiyoshi! Wonder what will happen after tita knows about Yossi's gender..who cares if she approves or not, right?

Damn, I'm freaking busy now and if I have the time to read, I won't have the energy to comment properly..Why am I so so busy???

still here. I hope that they manage to catch the killer. I really hope Third does her job well. I assume she'll be returning soon which means she Mars and Shark can have a little chat That's good cause they can regroup and come up with a gameplan and see what they'll do.. Which means decisions will be made. and hopefully Yoshi still has parts of a brain and that means that she'll be making someone follow kachan to make sure she'll be ok. If not then she's just a bigger idiot than I thought.

 I hope she makes Shark and Mars and even Third keep an eye on her. I rreally don't want her to get stolen again. And who knows, maybe this time she wont be as lucky.. maybe this time she really will get raped.

The next little bit is going to be really interesting. With The Philippines being a heavily devout Catholic country (for the most part), obviously people have strong opinions about homosexuality/homosexual relationships. The thing is though, there are quite a few popular, gay, male Filipino celebrities, though sometimes one can't help but wonder if they're truly being accepted, or if they're just popular because they're being treated like a humourous novelty.  And while male homosexuality is at least somewhat "acknowledged", lesbianism is still up in the air as far as perception and what "old-country" Filipinos think about it. 

If Eula lets it slip to May that Yossi's actually a woman, and not a man like they all thought, then yes, the next few chapters are going to be VERY interesting indeed.

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hitomi and Rika arrived home two hours and a half after leaving the hospital. Floods in some streets haven't subsided yet and they went on a roadtrip through Metro Manila in search of passable roads.

Hitomi was dead tired. It was hard enough going through narrow streets and heavy traffic. But the fact that her damned car was a stick-shift killed her legs. She limped as she walked from the car up to this point-- in their home, next to the couch.

"Ka-chan..." Hitomi decided that her resting place be this couch as she laid face down.

"To-chan, you didn't even take off your shoes..." Rika sat down on the end of the couch where Hitomi's feet were and removed the shoes of the tired driver.

"My legs hurt... I've never experienced this much leg pain since soccer training at the university..."

"Wait here, okay? I'll just put your shoes on the rack..." Rika left Hitomi on the couch, taking the Geox shoes with her to the shoe rack by the door.

Hitomi just laid there, waiting for Rika to come back. "I should get a new car..." she said aloud.

Hitomi felt Rika resume her seat at the end of the couch. "Gas is very expensive now, To-chan... I don't think you should..."

"... Hm... You're right..."

"Of course, I am..." Rika scooted closer to Hitomi, lifting her legs and placing them on her lap. "To-chan, your varicose veins are showing..."

"Well, I just drived through cities in traffic and flood for two and a half hours, didn't I?"

"Yeah... Thanks for coming with me to the hospital today, To-chan..." Rika began to massage Hitomi's legs, applying pressure to Hitomi's calves using her thumbs.

"Mmm..." Hitomi moaned aloud. "That felt good..."

"That's my thanks to you for coming with me and for protecting me..."

"Protecting?" Hitomi flipped over to lie on her back.

"When we met Auntie May in the hall... If you weren't there, I think things would have turned out differently..."

"That's why I want you to have a bodyguard with you when you go there... I need someone to guard that hot body of yours..." Hitomi laughed but she was serious about the bodyguard.

"To-chan~..."

"I know you're not comfortable having someone follow you around... but really, I just don't want anything bad to happen to you... Especially because I'm not there..."

"If they notice that I have a bodyguard with me, they might start asking questions..."

"... Are you sure you don't want them to know what happened?"

"What happened to Jr is devastating enough..."

"But--"

"To-chan... They were like family to me..."

"All the more that they should know..."

"I shouldn't make them worry about me anymore... and besides, Iida-sensei said nothing really happened, right? That was all that mattered to me then... I'm letting the matter rest now... What's important is I'm here with you..."

"But my fear is that someone might take you away... then you won't be here with me..."

"... But you'll be coming to save me if ever that happens, right?"

"Yes... but can't I at least take precautions to make sure it doesn't happen?"

"The hospital has enough security..."

"You can never be too sure..."

"I'll be fine... really... I promise..."

Hitomi finally conceded. There was nothing she could say to convince Rika to allow her to hire a bodyguard. She sat up and gave Rika a kiss of surrender on the cheek. "You win again..." She pulled Rika close and hugged her tightly. "If anything bad happens to you, I won't be able to forgive myself for conceding to you..."

"To-chan, don't say that..."

"Well, it's true..."

"I'll be very careful..."

That's a long drive. Can't believe Yossy forgot to take off her shoes, though. That's kinda funny! Love how she's sooo protective of Rika. It's so sexxxy! But now, I'm scared something's gonna happen to Rika at the hospital. She really needs that bodyguard. But I can't blame her for not wanting to cause attention to herself.
I'll be awaiting that perv, btw!

"Isn't that a bit too early?"

Rika looked up the ceiling, making calculations. "Tita Eu has to leave the hospital by 9:00... I promised to be there by 8:30... I can't predict how the traffic will be so I have to leave early..."

"Can't I just drive you there?"

"To-chan, it's out of the way... Gas prices are sky-rocketing..."

Hitomi gave Rika a sad-puppydog-face. "But... if you leave that early, that means we won't have breakfast together..."

"Hmm... Maybe if you wake up early tomorrow, we can still have breakfast together..."

"Wake me up early... ..."

"I'll wake you up as soon as I awake..."

"... Really...?"

"Yeah..."

"But if you're gonna wake me up as soon as you awake that means you have to be really close, right?"

"Well, my room's just across the hall..."

The interupted proposal from earlier today returned to Hitomi's mind. She fumbled for words but nothing felt right. But if she doesn't say this now, she'll never be able to. "... ... ... Ka-chan... Um... Maybe... you can... ..."

"... Maybe I can...?"

"sleep in my room from now on...?"

Rika was as silent as Hitomi expected her to be. Hitomi mentally kicked herself again for being too forward. The words were wrong, the timing was off... How inconsiderate can you get, Yoshizawa?! She might get the wrong idea! "Gomen, Ka-chan..."

"To-chan... I don't think I'm ready for 'that' yet..."

"Nononononononono... I didn't mean 'that'... I just want you to sleep in my room with me... That's all... Nothing you're not ready for..."

"Hmm..."

Hitomi attempted to redeem herself with sheer sweetness. "... Um... It's just that... I can't stand being an inch away from you." She lifted her legs an inch from Rika's lap and made a sad face. "See, just being this far away from you makes me miss you..."

Hitomi's words embarassed Rika. "To-chan!" Rika covered her face with her hands to keep Hitomi from seeing the bright crimson shade.

Hitomi's legs fell gently on Rika's lap. "Now, I'm happy again!" Hitomi sat up again and kissed Rika lightly on the cheek. "... I just want to be close to you anytime I can..."

"... Fine... but..."

"Yes, nothing weird... I promise..."
