ya... having a period is nothing embarrassing, as all females in the whole do have period (except for those who have urogenital problems, which I'm not going to say more about it). It's the matter of fact, like HiME said, that you are being see by people in the studio and viewers of the show around Japan.

Are those even her panties though? It sorta looks to me like she first dropped her white jacket, which is were ppl claim to see the "red' thing, which could just be just a red tag on the jacket or whatever... The way girls undress, it'd be much more probable that she'd drop her panties along with her skirt, which comes down way later. Plus, being a gravure idol, and knowing the crazy things that could happen in such a show, I bet she'd come prepared at least wearing a tampon... I don't believe that red thing had anything to do with her period.
