Chapter 8 - Night of Fire vol 2

Camp Aki database - 1st Lt. Yajima Maimi
- Comes from a well to do family in Saitama
- Is the youngest child in her family
- Her grandfather was an Army Major and her father was an Air Force Captain
- A Hokkaido War veteran, fighting at Hakodate and Sapporo
- While in Sapporo, defended Hokkaido University from over 300 enemies
- Graduated 2nd in her class from officer school
- Has expert markmanship

Platoons B and C had reached the middle of the camp. Every building that surrounded them was damaged somewhat.

"Oh they destroyed the gift shop..." Okai said pointing at a burning building

"Really? I was gonna buy a snow globe for my mom..." Hagiwara said

"We got more serious things to attend to!!" Natsuyaki growled at the two

"Ok those other 20 can be anywhere around here." Shimizu explained "Let's split up. Me, Momo-chan, Sgt. Umeda and Lt Yajima will head this way towards the barracks. The rest of you can go that way towards the cafeteria."

"Let's go guys!" Nakajima said as she led her group towards the cafeteria area.

"I think Barracks Z, Y, and X are near here. Let's go check them out." Momo said

The four soldiers reached the barracks of Platoon's Z, Y, and X. These three platoons were incredibly messy and the ground outside their barracks were covered with trash.

"Eww, this place smells horrible..." Erika groaned as she stepped over a puddle of what she hoped was water.

"Yeah these guys don't ready clean up, huh?" Shimizu said shaking a piece of paper off of her boot "But anyway we'll split up and head into each of the barracks. Me and Momo we go into Z, Yajima-san will head into Y, and Umeda will head into X."

"We'll meet back here into about 10 minutes, ok?" Maimi said before entering the Platoon Y barracks.

"Good luck, Umeda-san" Captain said as she and Momo entered the Platoon Z barracks.

Erika opened the door to Platoon X's barracks cautiously. At the other end on the barracks, there were 3 people surrounding Platoon X, which was tied up. As Erika creeped closer to the group, she tripped over a bag, alerting the strange people. Two of the strange people quickly surrounded Umeda on both sides as the apparent leader stepped toward her. She wore a big black hood covering her face.

"You must be Umeda" the leader said

"Yeah. Who are you guys and what are you doing to X?" Erika asked as she closely watched the two people beside her.

"I'm PFC Saho Akari, personal assistant of Cpl. Mano and leader of the stealth squad of the Lucky 30. We're just having some fun with these guys" the leader said as she kicked a X member in the face "You look like you might be fun to play with. Tie her up, guys"

The two people beside Erika suddenly lunged towards her. Erika responded by delivering a side kick to the 30 member on her left, knocking him out the window.

"Hey! That was a new window!" a X member yelled out "Now I gotta pay for that"

"Shut up, Fujita. You're ruining the fight" another X member said

"Ichiro! No! You'll pay for that" the 30 member on Erika's right said

She punched the member on her right in the face, stunning him. As the member punched back, Erika dodged it, grabbed his head and kneed him in the face, breaking his nose and knocking him out.

"Impressive" Saho said as she clapped "Now I get to kill you all by myself"

Saho threw off her hood to reveal her true outfit. She wore a red basketball jersey, black shorts and a brown cowboy hat.

"What's with the cowboy hat?" Erika asked

"Cowboy hats are in style this season" Saho replied showing off her hat

"It looks stupid..." Erika mumbled

"What did you say?! I'll beat you to a pulp" Saho said as she ran towards Erika

Saho threw several jabs towards Umeda as she tried to find a moment to fight back. Around punch #20, Erika saw an opening and punched Saho in the gut. The blow stopped the punches and left Saho gasping for breath.

"Well you know the right places to punch" she said as she recovered "But can you beat this?"

Saho then started a left hook.

"A hook. Too easy." Erika thought before she felt something hit her from the right. The force of the blow knocked her down.

"Haha I didn't think you would fall for a simple fake" Saho said with her arms crossed and a smile on her face as she stood over Erika "Master Mano will be most pleased when she hears I killed you."

"I didn't fall for your fake...you fell for mine" Erika said before using her leg to pull Saho's feet from under her. Saho hit the ground with a bang. Erika then held Saho's arm behind her back.

"Now where's Mano?" she asked pulling her opponent's arm

"I won't tell you..." Saho said as she groaned out in pain "No matter what you do..."

"What about if I make you watch anime all day?"

"Uh depends...is it Yaoi?"

"Yep"

"Ok then she should be at the officers club. Now where's my Yaoi?"

Erika leaned in and said in Saho's ear, "I lied, I have no Yaoi anime"

"Noooooooo!!!!!" Saho said as she passed out from the shock and the pain in her arm.

"Hey can you untie us?" a X member asked

"Sure" Erika replied as she untied Platoon X.

"Thanks for that" one X member said "That girl was freaking crazy!"

 "I'm off to find Mano" Erika said as she walked away from the group

"Punch her once for us, Umeda-san" a member said

"And one more thing. Clean up this place. It's smells like a city dump." She said before opening the door and left.

"What's she talking about 'clean up'?" one X member asked before looking to his right "Hey! Is that a rat or a dog?"

"Why don't you go touch it, Hashimoto? Maybe you can keep it as a pet." the member next to him chuckled.

No update today but I'm working on the next chapter now.

Today, since I'm this far in the story, I'm going to talk about the orgins of this story.

You're probably wondering "Why does he know so much about military structure and rank?" Simple answer: It's in my blood. My parents are both military veterans. Also I live next to a military base now. So, I grew up learning about military stuff, watching military movies, and reading books about wars (WWII is my favorite subject)

Now you're wondering "What does have to do with the Kids?" I don't think that I'm the only one who's noticed the lack of fanfics involving not just here but everywhere on the interweb. So since my favorite H!P group is a Kids group (C-ute), I decided to make a fanfic featuring the Kids as the main characters. So one day I thought "What could the fanfic be about? Romance? No. Adventure? Nah. Paranormal? Maybe. Military? Definitely.

So I thought about putting the Kids in the middle of the war. Maybe one day...but too gory for now. I decided to put them on a base in the middle of nowhere aka Aki, Iwate. I wondered how everyone would accept it? "They'll reject me" "This won't turn out good..." "I'm so nervous..." But I was so glad when I received positive reviews.

Now I'm on Ch. 8, I'm starting to wonder what's going to happen after the Aces arc. Maybe I should keep the story going...or I could end it right there. Any suggestions?

<Chisa> "Ok now that we're done with the intros, let's get to the show. What have been doing lately, Maimai?"
<Maimai> "Well my sister came to visit a few days ago"

Ok I make a reference to one of my favorite doramas in this chapter. If you haven't watched it, you should. It's pretty good.

Ch 9 - Mano-a-Mano

Camp Aki Files - PFC. Suzuki "Kappa" Airi
- From northern Gifu, raised in Chiba
- Parents were on the Japanese national golf team
- Oldest child in the family
- Fought in Sapporo during the war
- Almost always has a huge smile although it's not known why
- Was once asked to be in the military band but rejected the offer because she wanted to be on the battlefield


Erika walked out of the Company X barracks where Maimi, Cpt. Shimizu, and Momo were waiting. It was raining steadly as she met up with her friends.

"Hey Erika you're back!" Maimi said "Did you have any trouble?"

"Nothing I couldn't handle" Erika said dusting herself off "How about you guys?"

"Me and Momo-chan took on four guys. But we split up so it was 2 on 1" Shimizu said

"That made it a little easier for us" Momo continued "Those guys were pretty easy, though."

"I fought three guys but they were pretty easy too so I didn't have any real problems" Maimi said

"Well the girl I fought said that she knows where Mano is" Erika said

"Really? Where?" Tsugunaga asked, surprised

"At the Officers' club" Erika replied

"We gotta tell the others! Let's go!" Shimizu said

The group ran towards the cafeteria area and met up with Nakajima's team, who where talking to a member of the Lucky 30's sword team.

"This sword looks too cheap to be real" Natsuyaki said as she held the member's sword

"Oh it's real.I bought it from this sword maker in Aichi." the member, who had several bruises and a bleeding nose, reassurred her "It's one of my prized possessions"

"Are you sure it's real?" Natsuyaki asked "I'm sure it won't break if I do this"

Natsuyaki slammed the member's sword on a nearby rock, snapping it in half.

"Whhhyyy?!?!?" the member yelled as he fainted

"Wow you're evil, Miyabi" Tokunaga said as she walked over to check on the 30 member "Is this guy ok?"

"He's ok. He's just in shock" Hagiwara replied as she checked his pulse

"Hey guys, Sarge and Lt. Yajima are coming" Okai said

"Lt Yajima. New Sarge. Momo-chan. Shimizu. You're ok" Suzuki said as she ran and hugged Umeda "You guys look like you had a real big fight"

"Nothing too hard, Airi. How did you guys do?" Erika replied

"We had to fought those sword guys." Arihara explained "They were hard at first, but once you make them lose the swords, they're pretty easy"

"Did you guys find out where Mano is?" Nakajima asked

"Sure did. She's at the Officers' club" Momo replied "We gotta stop her before she hurts someone"

B and C platoons ran towards the Officers' club. The building was slightly damaged by the fire and there were unconscious soldiers laying in the field outside the building.

"Ok guys Mano's gotta be inside there. She's probab--" Erika said before she heard laughing. The group looked up at the roof of the Officers' Club and saw a girl in a blue seifuku and holding a sword pointing and laughing at them.

"You guys must be pretty strong if you beat the entire Lucky 30" the girl said

"Oh my god...we're getting laughed at by a anime character..." Natsuyaki mumbled under her breath

"I heard that! I'm not a anime character!" the girl said "I am Cpl. Mano Erina, leader of the Lucky 30, and you must be Platoon B and C."

"That's us" Erika said as she stepped forward "Don't you know that you have to wear the right uniform on base? This isn't high school!"

"Haha funny, you must be Umeda" Mano smiled and said "Are you trying to be like Shiiba Ayumu from LIFE and fight against the bullies? That's so cute."

Mano jumped down from the roof and approached the group.

"It's a shame that I got to kill you all" Mano said "You're all very pretty"

"I'm tired of this stupid dialouge. Let's beat her senseless" Okai yelled as she ran towards Mano. Chisato delivered a flying side kick to the 30 leader's chest, knocking her down.

"Man, she was annoying..." Okai said as she turned towards the group and dusted herself off. She didn't see that the attack had failed to effect Mano. She stood up, walked up behind the Pvt., and struck Chisato in the back of the head with the hilt of the sword. Okai fell forward and slammed into the ground. She wasn't dead, just knocked out.

"Silly rabbit. You shouldn't try sneak attacks on people. It's rude" Mano said with a slight annoyance in her voice.

"Sato!" Hagiwara cried

"I'm about to bust your skull!" an enraged Umeda said

Erika ran towards Mano, who swung her sword at her approaching enemy. Erika dodged the attack and punched Mano in the gut. Mano tried to swing her sword down towards Erika's head but Erika saw this coming and uppercutted Mano in the chin. The 30 leader flew backwards and landed on her back. When she hit the ground, she dropped her sword.

"Nice moves. No one's ever knocked my sword out of my hands..." Cpl Mano said as she stood up. "Well I guess I have to fight you the classic way"

"Go on ahead. I'll have you back on the ground in no time" Umeda said in her fighting stance.

"I'm fighting with you, Erika" Yajima said as she joined her friend "No one can allow a girl this crazy to run loose"

"2 on 1. How unfair" Mano sighed "Oh well. I'll kill both of you"

Mano charged towards the two soldiers and tackled Maimi. She delivered at least four punches to Yajima's face, stunning her. Mano then got up.   

"Wow she's fast. I didn't even see her move towards Maimi" Tokunaga said as she sat next to an unconscious Okai.

Mano ran towards Erika. She attempted a straight punch to Erika's face but she was once again outsmarted as Erika dodged the punch and countered with another punch to Mano's gut. Mano coughed up blood and walked around in a daze.

"I'm not down yet" Mano declared as she delivered a hook to Umeda's cheek, knocking her down. Immediately after that, Maimi blindsided Mano with a punch to the face.

"You ok, Umeda?" Yajima asked as she kicked Mano in the face, causing her to land on her back.

"I'm alright" Erika replied as she stood up and checked to see if she was injured. "Only a bruise. Good."

"I think that knocked her out..." Yajima said as she examined Mano. The 30 leader had bruises on her face, a nosebleed, and had blood coming from her mouth "We did a number on her..."

Suddenly Mano sat up and grabbed Maimi's neck.

"What the...?" Maimi yelled as Mano started to choke her.

"Is this girl a zombie!?!?" Erika asked as she ran over to Yajima and punched Mano in the face, knocking her out once again.

The group gathered around Mano's twisted, unconscious body. Chisato hobbled over to the crowd, helped by Hagiwara.

"You sure she won't go all "Night of the Living Dead" on us again?" she asked

"No I'm sure this time. She's not getting up." Yajima replied

"Go call the MPs" Shimizu said "This girl's definitely going to jail"

The military police soon arrived at the Officers' Club. They put Mano, still unconscious, into an ambulance to be taken to the local hosptial.

"So that's the one who set the base on fire..." the MP officer, Mjr. Matsuura said as she talked to Platoons B and C "Well, we're currently rounding up her accomplices around the base. When she gets out of the hospital, she's going straight to jail for a looonnnngg time. Anyway you guys should go get checked out by the medic too. You look horrible."

"We'll be ok. Thanks a lot, maam." Yajima said

"How's your head, Sato?" Erika asked

"Nothing a good night's sleep and a little medicine won't fix" Okai replied

"Now that Mano's done, we gotta find Kamei and beat her" Shimizu explained as she watched the ambulance drive away"Maybe if we beat her, then we'll know where the Aces' leader is"

"Ok let's get some sleep. That fight made me sleepy..." Yajima said as the group walked back to their barracks. No one saw the shadowy figure watching nearby.

"So they beat Erina, eh? They might be worthy of fighting me after all..." the figure thought "I'll be waiting for you, Umeda"

Sorry for the lateness. Internet problems. Anyway here's the fight between Kamei and Erika's group.

Chapter 10 - Kamei's Garden of Death

"Ugggggg my face. Where am I?"

"Oh you're awake, Mano-san."

"Who...who are you? Why am I in the hospital? Why does my head hurt?"

"I'm Major Matsuura Aya, chief of the Camp Aki military police. You were knocked unconscious. You've been here since last night. Anyway I should get to reason I came. When you are released from the hospital, you are going to jail for...arson, attempted murder, and assault."

"Wha--what?! I didn't do any of that stuff"

"Ah, but you did do all that stuff. You fought Sgt. Umeda and Lt Yajima from Platoon C and you and your 'Lucky 30' tortured and almost killed Pvt. Ishimura from Platoon B.You also ordered the Camp set on fire. All of that will probably get you at least 50 years in prison"

"50 years?"

"Yep. So I suggest getting an lawyer, kid and you better make sure he's good"

"It can't be. I can't go to jail. They'll eat me alive."

"Well you should've thought of that before you set the base on fire"

"...and that's what I call a sticky situation. In other news, residents of Aki might've seen the orange glow last night. Nearby Camp Aki was set on fire by a group of soldiers for reasons still unknown. The fire was quickly put out by a rainstorm coming from the east. The perpetrators were soon arrested by the police. The leader of the group, Cpl. Mano Erina, suffered several bruises, a broken nose, and some internal bleeding in the aftermath of the fire. Police expect her to get at least 50 years for her crimes."

It was the morning after the fight with Mano. Platoon C was visiting Platoon B's barracks after doing some military exercises and were listening to the news broadcast on their radio.

"Wow 50 years!" Yajima said as she turned off the radio "That's a pretty long time"

"Well she did set the camp on fire and attacked the Officer's club" Shimizu replied "I would give her a life sentence"

"Maiha-chan! How are you doing?" Momo said as she and Suzuki brought a tray of food to Ishimura, who was laying in bed.

"Much...better...Momo-chan" Ishimura replied. She was still very much injured and the pain still affected her speech, but she was healing quite nicely "I can move...around easier now, see?" She moved her arms around to show that her health had improved.

"That's very good, Ishimura-san" Suzuki said as she handed her a glass of milk "Here. Have a drink. It will help you get better"

"Thanks...Suzuki-san" Ishimura replied as she drank some of the milk.

"Maiha-chan, please eat some soup" Momo said as she handed her a bowl

"Momo-chan, you know...that I hate...your cooking" she replied with a smile "You...wanna make me worse?"

"You haven't changed a bit, Maiha-chan" Momo said

"So are you going after Kamei now, Umeda?" Natsuyaki asked as she and Tokunaga walked over to Erika who was talking to Maimi and Captain.

"I sure am. Maimi told me she needs some time to recover from last night but Captain says she can come along and help me" Erika replied

"Well we're coming with you too" Tokunaga said "We heard Kamei is pretty strong"

"Yeah we gotta come along to make sure she doesn't try any dirty tricks" Natsuyaki said "You can never trust the Aces"

"Ok that's four of us against Kamei" Shimizu said "She might still be at the old sports field so let's hurry and catch her. Suzuki, Momo, and everyone else, stay here with Ishimura and help her get better."

"Good...luck guys" Ishimura said "Punch her...once for me"

"Alright let's go get her" Erika said as the four soldiers headed towards the field

The sports field looked the same as it did the night before, except for the destroyed locker room on the east edge of the field. On the west edge was a small red building (probably a coach's office) that looked unaffected by the previous night's events.

"That's probably her headquarters right there" Natsuyaki said pointing to the building

"What are we waiting for?" Shimizu said as she walked over to the building. She opened the door to find a room with tatami mats and posters of different quotes and sayings on the walls. At the other end of the room was a girl dressed in a pink yukata reading a book.

"Ah so you guys finally come" the girl said as she closed the book and stood up

"Who are you?" Erika said as she poked her head into the doorway

"Oh you must be Sgt. Umeda. I've been wanting to meet you" the girl said as she walked over to the four troops "I'm Sgt Kamei Eri. You might know me as the 'Ace of Hearts'.

"You're Kamei Eri? I thought a Ace would look more like a fighter" Tokunaga said as she looked Kamei up and down.

"Nope last time I checked that was my name. So you guys beat the '30' huh? Nice work." Kamei said as she clapped "You have earned my respect, girls."

"Well Kamei, just like the '30', I have to fight you to stop the Aces from taking over the camp, you know that right?" Umeda asked.

"I understand. Well you're going to fight me, follow me to my garden. I don't want to mess up my room." the Ace said

"Garden? What's she talking about?" Natsuyaki asked.

Kamei opened a door hidden behind a poster and walked into what looked to be a traditional garden with a small fountain in the middle.

"Looks like something out of a play" Natsuyaki mumbled.

"You'd think there be a priest somewhere around here" Tokunaga joked to her friend.

"This is my garden. This is where I train and this is where you will die" Kamei announced

"That's what she thinks" Shimizu whispered to Erika "Remember Umeda, be ready for anything"

"Are you prepared to fight? I don't like waiting, love" Kamei said as she got ready to fight.

"Ready when you are, Kamei" Erika replied.

"I'm ready to cave your head in" Natsuyaki said with a slight smile

Kamei moved quickly and kicked Chinami in the gut. The blow took the former fighting champion by surprise and she flew backwards into a wall.

"Wow she's fast" Captain said as she looked back at Tokunaga. Just as she turned back around, she noticed Kamei charging straight at her. She quickly dodged her foe and Kamei smashed into the wall. The Ace quickly got back up and focused on Umeda, who was checking on Tokunaga, who was dazed but ok. Erika was blindsided by a knee to the face. The Sgt. countered with a double punch to the face. Kamei was tackled from behind by Shimizu.

"This is for Chinami" the Cpt. said as she slammed the Ace's head into the ground. Captain seemed to have a advantage over Kamei, until she was elbowed in the face and released her hold. Kamei threw her off and Shimizu fell over on her back. Kamei scrambled to her feet.

"An attack from behind, huh? Pretty childish for a Army Captain" Kamei said before she noticed Natsuyaki running straight for her. Kamei punched the Cpl. in the gut and Natsuyaki fell over.

"Why do you guys insist on sneaking up on me? Seems I'll kill you first, Nastuyaki" Kamei said with a slight annoyance in her voice. She grabbed the girl's neck and started to choke her. But Natsuyaki only smiled and delivered a cold punch to the Ace's chest. The blow knocked the air Kamei and she released her grip and fell to her knees.

"Shouldn't you be protecting youself instead of sending me useless threats?" Natsuyaki growled

Kamei got up and without saying a word, punched Miyabi. Then the Ace focused once again on Erika, who had been helping Shimizu. The Sgt noticed Kamei looking at her and prepared herself to defend.

"Come at me, Kamei" Erika demanded. Kamei charged forward and tried to deliver a hook to the face but Umeda blocked and delivered two hooks of her own to her foe's face. The two blows surprised the Ace, who wasn't expecting Umeda to block, and Kamei fell to the ground.

Back at Platoon B's barracks, the remaining soldiers took care of Ishimura and made sure none of Kamei's supporters came knocking at the door.

"So Maiha-chan, what did the '30' do to you anyway?" Momo asked as she gave her friend another glass of milk.

"It was horrible. After...I was knocked out during the fight...I woke up in the building you guys found me in. At first...those guys were nice to me." the private explained "They...fed me and gave me water...but one day they started to beating me every hour...then they did that thing they do on mental patients and hentai...You know? With the electricity..." 

"Electo-shock therapy?" Arihara replied as she pulled up a chair by Ishimura's bed.

"Yeah...wait how do you know about that...anyway...they did that to me a lot to make sure I didn't...try to fight back" Maiha said.

"That's horrible" Suzuki said

"They deserved that beating..." Okai muttered

"Anyway...a few days before you guys came...I overheard some of my guards...talking about getting rid of me. They called me 'extra weight' and they would get rid of me...then burn the camp to cover it up." Ishimura continued

"Lucky Mother Nature showed up before anyone got seriously hurt" Hagiwara said

"Did you ever try to escape?" Kumai asked

"Yeah...once" Maiha replied "Give me...another cup of milk...and I'll tell you"

Back at Kamei's garden, the girls were gaining an advantage over Kamei, but she was still putting up a fight.

"Chinami watch your left" Erika yelled as Kamei ran towards Tokunaga, who was helping up Natsuyaki, knocked down from an earlier attack. Tokunaga noticed her foe too late and was hit in the face by a strong right hook. She fell over backwards and was knocked out cold.

The Ace didn't notice Miyabi, who quickly uppercutted her foe. Kamei flew backwards and hit the ground with a thud.

"That's what you get for not knocking me out when you had the chance, you idiot" Natsuyaki said as she stood over her foe. Kamei slowly got up and stumbled around in a daze. She looked over at Erika, who was watching her closely.

"Umeda...you know you were my main target the whole time, right, love?" the Ace asked with an evil smile

"I think the fight's driving her crazy" Erika thought "She looks like The Joker"

"Ever since you fought Reina and Sayu, I couldn't wait to fight you and only you." Kamei continued "Now let's make this a fight just between us."

"Sure let's end this already. Natsuyaki-san, Captain help Chinami." Umeda commanded

"Already headed there" Shimizu replied

Kamei slowly walked towards her foe as Erika got ready to defend. The Ace attempted a lazy hook but missed and Erika countered with a straight punch to the face. Kamei fell over and hit the ground unconscious.

"Oh God that was hard..." Umeda said as she wiped blood from her nose "Is Chinami ok?"

"I'm ok" Tokunaga answered as she got up "Am I missing any teeth, Miyabi?"

"No they're all there" Natsuyaki replied

"Let's go home, guys. We can celebrate our victory with a meal...Umeda's paying" Shimizu said

"Huh? How did this happen?" Erika frantically asked as she followed her friends out of the garden.

She quickly dodged her foe and Kamei smashed into the wall.

then they did that thing they do on mental patients and hentai...You know?

"Yeah...once" Maiha replied "Give me...another cup of milk...and I'll tell you"

The last Ace was pretty tough, giving the four a hard time. I can imagine that her outfit looks like the Sakura-gumi getup. 

Good thing they were able to save Maiha on time but I doubt if she'll last if Momo keeps on feeding her with her cooking.

Ch 11 - And then there was one

Tokunaga, Umeda, Natsuyaki, and Shimizu returned to Platoon B's barracks after their fight with Kamei.

"Yay you're back! Momo...was going to force feed me...some of her soup" Ishimura yelled as she pushed away the bowl in Momo's hand

"I'll just feed you later, Maiha-chan" Momo replied to her friend's dismay.

"Did you beat Kamei?" Yajima asked as the group entered the building.

"Did we ever! Umeda-san here left her unconscious" Tokunaga answered "But I keep feeling like we forgot to do something..."

"Oh crap! We forgot to ask her where the fourth Ace is." Umeda yelled, slapping her forehead "Baka! Baka! Baka!"

"What are we gonna do?" Shimizu asked

"Tell me where you left her. I'll call the police so they can go find her and the other Aces" Momo said as she pulled out a pink cell phone

"You really want to get the MPs involved in this? Except for Mjr Matsuura-san, the rest of those guys are kinda mean" Nakajima said putting a hand on Momo's shoulder

"Do you wanna go ask her yourself, Nakki?" Erika asked sarcastically "She'll gladly tell you"

"She'll tell me after these boots accidently hit her face" Saki quietly answered

"It's the only way to find out who and where the last Ace is, Nakajima" Shimizu told the Corporal before turning to her second in command "Momo, call 'em"

"Already dialing it, Captain" Momo replied

"No you're not" Ishimura said as she suddenly appeared over Momo's shoulder "You're...texting"

"Sh--Shut up! I'm calling them right now" the Sgt yelled as she dialed the number "Moshi-moshi, is this the police? I'd like to report..."

"Ok while she's calling the police, I'll treat your wounds" Hagiwara said "Come on Nurse Chisa"

"You're not a doctor, little kid. Call me a nurse again and I pound your face in" Okai grumbled

"Nurse Chisa, can you pass me the bandages?" the medic called as she looked at Erika's wounds

"That's it!!" Chisato snapped as she tackled Hagiwara

"Get off of her right now!" Maimi commanded "And hurry up on Erika! I don't like the look of Natsuyaki's face"

"Hey what's that supposed to mean?" Miyabi said as she waited to be treated

"Oh I didn't mean any offense" the Lt replied

About three hours later, as the sun neared its peak, the three defeated Aces were rounded up and brought to the police station, where Platoons B and C were asked to meet them. Even Ishimura, being held up by Momo and Airi, came.

"Oh everything's all blurry" Kamei said as the MPs brought her into the waiting room. She looked like she had just woken up, her nose and several spots on her face were bandaged, and her hand was broken. Next to her was Sgt Tanaka, whose arm was wrapped in a sling.

"You guys called the police on us?" she groaned "How uncool..."

"As expected of non-cute people like them" Sgt Michishige, whose head was wrapped in bandages, replied.

"Shut up about that cute stuff already!" Umeda, who face had several bandages as well, yelled "I thought you would've stopped talking about being cute after I won that fight"

"Nope I'm just talking like that because I knew it would make you mad" the Ace said, sticking her tongue out.

"OK let's get down to business" Mjr Matsuura said as she entered the room"Lt Yajima here has already explained about the 'Aces' thing, so I won't press charges against them. But you three, tell who your leader is right now"

"I don't feel like telling you..." Tanaka responded rudely "Maybe if Okai over there gives me some of that money..."

"Fat chance of that!" Okai said "Now go ahead and tell us who the leader is, you sorry excuse for a combat veteran"

"How dare you question my combat experience?!? I fought in south Sapporo, you little..." the Ace angrily yelled

"Calm down, Reina! I'll tell you guys who it is but there's really nothing you can do about it." Michishige said putting her handcuffed hands on Tanaka's shoulder "No one can beat...Fujimoto-sama"

The whole room gasped when they heard the name...except Umeda.

"Who's Fujimoto?" the Sgt asked, looking around at her fellow soldiers

"You don't about Cpt. Fujimoto?" Tanaka said surprised before mumbling "You really are new..."

"How could you not know of Miki, love...and why are there three of you?" Kamei said trying to stand up straight

"Erika, if you want to talk to someone who's seen it all in combat, you talk to Cpt Fujimoto Miki of Platoon M" Maimi explained "She's fought in every major battle in Hokkaido and she has the Order of the Sacred Treasure"

"Order of the Sacred Treasure? That's a pretty high honor" Umeda said to herself

"She's fought in Sapporo, Hakodate, Muroran" Shimizu listed "Those were some pretty bloody battles."

"She was wounded...twice" Ishimura said

"I heard she killed 100 terrorists with a machine gun and when she ran out of ammo, she hit them with her broken rifle" Momo said

"Around here, she's basically a legend" Nakajima told Erika 

"But what is she doing with thugs like these?" Hagiwara asked pointing to the Aces

"Hey I'm not a thug!" Tanaka protested.

"Any person who associates with the 'Lucky 30' is a thug!" Okai said in a matter of fact voice as she rubbed her head wound from the previous night "My head still hurts from where Mano hit me"

"If a person as respected as Fujimoto is doing stuff like bullying and extortion, then she has to be punished for it" Matsuura announced "When we find her, she's going to jail for a long time...and not those nice jails either, she's going to the toughest, dirtiest jail in all of Japan"

"Well we'll help you any way we can Major." Tokunaga asked "Where is she anyway?"

"I don't know. In the barracks most likely" Michishige shrugged and answered

The Major gave the order to the troops under her command and within 10 minutes military policemen were outside Platoon M's barracks. A policeman kicked opened the door and stormed the building but the only person there was Cpl. Niigaki Risa, who was dancing alone to her radio.

"Uso!! W--What's going on here!?!" she yelled as she frantically tried to turn off her radio, tripping over boots and boxes

"Gaki-san! Where's Fujimoto?" Maimi asked as she entered the building

"Maimi-chan. M--Miki-san is gone" Niigaki answered as she flipped the radio's off switch

"Where did she go Niigaki?" Captain asked

"I don't know. She packed some stuff and said she was leaving for a while" the Cpl replied

"Call the Aki police. Get a search out for this girl" Matsuura told her assistant as the MPs quickly left the area and left Niigaki

"Where do you think she is?" Momo asked as B and C stood outside M's barracks "She could be anywhere around here"

"She won't be in our barracks" Hagiwara said as she leaned on the wall of the barracks "Sato probably left a 3 day old sandwich in there, and by now it probably stinks in there"

Right after Mai said that, she was smacked by an irate Chisato. "That only happened once, stupid"

"I know but you didn't have to hit me..." the Pvt quietly replied

"Any other suggestions?" Yajima turned her back to the sniper team and asked the others

"Fujimoto could've headed into town. We should check the Inuyama district in east Aki, that place is a hangout for criminals, people say" Kumai explained

"Wow Yuri I haven't heard a word out of you this whole time...but yeah let's check it tomorrow" Umeda said "We got to rest up"

"Ok then we'll meet her at around 4pm." Momo declared

"Why at night? We can just beat her up during the day and get back home by dinner" Okai asked "Mmmm dinner"

"Well criminals do most of their business at night" Momo answered

"Oh now I understand" Chisato said "4pm it is"

"Now let's have that meal I promised you guys...Umeda's still paying" Captain said as she walked away,  the rest of the group following her.

"Did I lose a bet or something?!" Umeda asked as she ran after her friends

Chapter 12 - Inuyama nights

"Chopper A-2 reporting in. We are currently over the north side of Aki but no sign of Fujimoto. How is it on the ground? Over."

"Chopper A-2, this is Platoon H on the ground. We are near city hall along with the local police but we don't see any sign of her either. Over"

"Ok we'll head west and let you know if we see her. A-2 over and out."

As the sun began to set over Aki, platoons B and C met at the gate that marked the entrance to the Inuyama district. Throughout the rest of the town, there were roadblocks and checkpoints everywhere as the police looked for Fujimoto.

"So are you guys ready to start this search?" Maimi asked as Platoon B approached

"Yeah let's get this search over with" Natsuyaki replied

"Ok everybody, Inuyama may look nice from over here but once we pass that gate, anything can happen" Suzuki explained "Be careful, ok?"

"Let's go" Erika said as she started toward the gate.

The group slowly made their way through the gate and entered the district. The paved road turned into a old dusty dirt road. The buildings that surrounded them looked like something out of the Edo period. As they walked down the main street, they were passed by shady looking people who looked scary but offered no threat.

"These guys look like Yakuza" Momo whimpered "They're creeping me out"

"Don't worry, Momo. I'm here." Shimizu replied

"Hey, let's try this building" Kumai suggested, pointing to an amazingly nice looking izakaya. The group entered the building, but no one acknowledged them. They walked over the bar where a bartender in a happi greeted them.

"Good evening! How can I help you guys?" she said

"Have you seen Fujimoto Miki here?" Erika asked "We need to talk to her"

"Yes I have seen her. You're Platoons B and C, right?" the girl replied "She's told me a lot about you. Let me go find her."

The bartender quickly disappeared behind a door. The group looked at their surroundings. The customers looked like regular people in contrast to the rough looking people from earlier.

"This food looks pretty good" Shimizu said as she looked at a nearby menu "I might just order something in here"

"Captain, remember that we're on a mission here" Momo replied "No time for eating"

The bartender came back once again.

"I'm sorry. Fujimoto-san can't come out right now but she asked me to do this" she said before leaping over the bar, pulling out a long, thin pole and hitting Captain in the side of the head, knocking the stunned girl to the ground. The bartender threw off her happi to expose a sleeveless shirt. Her arms were heavily bandaged from the elbows down to the hands.

"I'm Komine Momoka, Fujimoto's best friend and closest ally. I knew that you guys would come looking for her so I've been getting ready to break your faces" she announced swinging the pole "So which one of you do I beat first?"

"You'll pay for that" Erika yelled. She charged forward and landed a punch to Momoka's face. The girl wasn't prepared for the blow and stumbled backward. After she regained her footing, Komine swung the pole at Erika as she attempted another attack. The pole hit its target and Erika fell to the ground.

"Need some help, Erika?" Yajima asked

"No just check on Captain" Umeda replied rising to her feet "I've got her covered"

Momoka swung her pole once again but a little slower than the previous attacks. Erika took advantage of this, grabbed the pole and threw her shocked enemy to the ground. Momoka stood back up to discover her fighting pole was missing. She looked up and saw Umeda holding it.

"Give that back!" the girl yelled as she scrambled to her feet

"You want this little thing?" Erika replied as she slammed the pole against a chair,snapping it in half "Do you want it now?"

"Why...why did you do that?!? Miki-sama gave me that pole. I'll kill you" Komine said as she charged forward. She delivered an uppercut and knocked Umeda into a table. Komine tried another attack kicked in the chest and stumbled back once again.

"Hey Captain you ok over there?" the Sgt asked, glancing over to Shimizu and the others.

"I'm alright" the Captain replied as she stood up and check her head for blood "You mind if I help?"

"Be my guest" Umeda said. Shimizu delivered a running jump kick to Komine, sending her into a chair and breaking it. Shimizu quickly recovered from her attack and got ready for another.

"I'm really supposed to believe Fujimoto's closest ally is this weak?" she said "Come at me with all you've got."

"Alright. Whatever you say" Momoka replied taking off her arm bandages and wiping the blood off her nose. She ran forward and unleashed a fury of punches towards Shimizu.

"Now you can taste my true speed" she said

"Whoa! There's punches coming from everywhere!" Shimizu thought "I can't counterattack"

The Captain tried her hardest to dodge them all but they soon overwhelmed her and she was getting hit more than she was blocking.

"She can't hold those punches off for much longer" Erika said to herself "I've got to save her"

Umeda blindsided Momoka with a right hook to the face. The girl fell backwards and landed on her back.

"Thanks for the help, Umeda" Shimizu said wiping the blood from her nose

"No problem, Captain" Erika repiled standing Momoka, who was slowly crawling backwards "So what do you want to do with this mess?"

"I dunno, Sgt. Maybe Natsuyaki-san has a few toture ideas. Hey Miyabi, do you have any good torture ideas?" Captain asked glancing over to the rest of the group

"Well I haven't had a chance to use the nails and candle wax yet." Natsuyaki replied as she thought about the possible ways she could use those

"I have a ping pong paddle. Maybe you could use that too, Miyabi" Arihara suggested with a smirk on her face

"Now you're thinking smart, Kanna" Miyabi said as the two Corporals high-fived.

"Ok ok I give up!!" Komine yelled as she got up "Miki-sama come on here out please"

The door behind the bar slammed open and a woman with a half-full beer mug in one hand stepped out.

"Momoka, this had better be good. I was watching some wota get embarrassed on TV" she growled

"I couldn't beat them like you asked, Miki-sama. Forgive me." Komine bowed and said

"Don't worry Momoka. We're friends. I won't kill you...yet" Fujimoto said with a smile before averting her gaze towards B and C "So you guys beat the Aces, huh? Well I guess I'll fight one of you next. Anyone wanna step up?"

"I guess I'll be the one to fight you then" Erika said "I've already help fight everyone else"

"Good good but I need a challenge." Miki replied as she took a sip from her mug "Does anyone else wanna fight me along with her?"

After a moment of silence, Nakajima stepped up.

"I'll do it" she announced "I'll fight you"

"Are you sure Nakki?" Suzuki asked "She looks pretty tough"

"I'm sure. I wanna fight Fujimoto" Saki assured Airi

"Alright then we have a fight. Let me explain the rules: 1. We're fighting in my secret arena, which Komine there will take you to tomorrow and 2. You'll be fighting with swords, which I will give you when we meet. Got that?" Fujimoto explained

"Sure" Umeda and Nakajima agreed

"Now get outta here! I'm about to miss the last battle of the show" Miki said as she disappeared back behind the door.

"You best get some rest" Komine suggested "I'll meet you at the Inuyama gate tomorrow"

The group left the izakaya (which had dozen broken cups and chairs scattered everywhere) and headed out of the district. It was about 6:30 pm and getting dark.

"Do we even know how to use swords?" Umeda asked Nakajima as the passed through the gate

"Well I took kendo when I was younger" Nakajima answered "Although I don't remember anything..."

"Don't worry Nakki. I'll be there with you and the Boss. If she tries anything, I'll do this" Hagiwara said as she kicked and punch. The last punch hit Okai, who was standing next to Hagiwara.

"Hey, watch where you punching, little kid!" Chisato replied with a slap to the back of the head "You might just kill a girl"

"Girl? I thought I hit a boy" Mai mumbled

"I heard that!! Die Maimai!!" Okai snapped as she strangled her friend. The others just laughed and headed back home.
