Morning Musume covered a big hit song from Pink Lady “Pepper Keibu”(Pepper Police Inspector). Takahashi Ai, as well as other Hello!Prohject members appeared in a dorama called “Hit Maker Aku Yuu Monogatari” so that became the cause for this new single. “It was the song, which everybody knows, so I was very glad, when it was decided to make a cover of it” – Says Takahashi smiling.

Takahashi’s mother was a big fan of Pink Lady back when they were popular. “Even now children and parents dance to this song, when they see videos of those days.” A bit later, in November, another cover of Aku Yuu’s song will be released. This time Takahashi Ai will sing “Izakaya”(Tavern) together with Hiroshi Itsuki.

That's a smart way to promote this single, as people who liked the song will no doubt be drawn to this single even more... though I don't think I'll be dancing it with my family, lol

CDJapan just sent me an e-mail, saying they shipped my copy of the single. I can't wait, but it said it would take about 1-3 weeks.

I haven't been listening to Pepper keibu alot intentionally, I want to wait for the single in hand and enjoy it with something I actually bought.
BUT I LOVE THE PV, THEY ALL LOOKED SO GREAT IN IT! ESPECIALLY ERI, HOTTT!!!
thought I haven't been listening to it alot, but I did listen and I think it's great. I hope they get good promotion and great sales.

btw, though this is off topic, but since it was speculated that...
before they confirmed the single, you guys was talking about this song called "Ame no Furanai Hoshi de wa Aisenai Darou". I actually got listening to it lately and is loving it as well. I wonder where did they first performed it and what were they planning to do with this song? would it be MoMusu first Chinese-crossover single?
If not MoMusu, then maybe H!P? like for the Taiwan star winners? cuz they're some Chinese lyrics in it... But if this would help break MoMusu into the Chinese/Taiwanese music market, first step into the international market, that would be great.
Did they performed it at the Beijing thing back in the 16th? cuz won't that be a great opportunity?
btw, since I'm at it.... whatever happend to the Beijing event? I haven't heard about it...

Most singles singles are officially released on Wednesday and usually they are available in stores on Tuesday. But today is a national holiday in Japan (Autumn Equinox (also Goto Maki's birthday)), so stores start shipping a day early. That's why I expect the first daily ranking today, instead of tomorrow (not quite sure about this though).

Is this perhaps the first time since Koi no Dance Site that a single has been released in a slimline case? I can't recall any others after that.

I also finally bit the bullet and bought the single in Limited B format, picked up some other things too, will have to starve now

4th is quite good I have to say, consider this week competition, but I don't know why MM always face so much competition in their first week compare to Berryz and C-ute.

Probably because UFA feels like they could stand a little better against the competition. 4th isn't too bad, really. I'm waiting on sales figures more than anything. Mainly out of curiosity. This is a really sweet cover and I love the video... but I really was wanting new material from this new Morning Musume, so I'm wondering if others felt the same.

Being 4th compared to EXILE, Ayaka X Kobokuro and Mr. Children is not bad at all. curious, though, Who in the top 10 or 20 is new releases for this week and who's from a couple of weeks back?

I'm sorry but I usually would be able to get info from Wiki.theppn.org but something happen and now I know nothing at all about the oricon releases and new music and artist...

btw, what happen to wiki.theppn.org? anyone knows?

Not many new releases in the top 20 indeed. But, and it's a big BUT, due to the whole national holiday thing several new singles may be released a day later instead of a day early like Momusu was. We will see when the charts of the coming days are published.
