Last week's H!M got a viewer rating of 1.1%.

That's the lowest rating ever since it started. Here's the rest of the "worst rating" list.

I'm wondering, are the dogs that were shown in today's episode and next week are owned by the girls? i.e. today's dog is owned by Yossie. Next week we have Rika + Ai-chan + Gaki-san bring their own?

Owning a dog in Tokyo is still somewhat rare; it's just too hard to do with no parks and tiny apartments. It's the hot fad right now, which is why we're seeing it on HaroMoni, but I doubt that more than a few of the girls have their own.

However, the dog that Yossie carried looked very much like the dog that Taka (of Utaban fame) gave to Gomaki for her 16th birthday. (Yes, he really did give it to her and she really did keep it.) The coloring was a bit different, but it was definitely the same breed, the same gender, and around the right age (puppy plus five years), so... *shrug*

The producers should realize that whatever they're doing during the eps that get these low ratings is BAD and that they need to come up with something else.  If a concept is obviously not working, don't try it again. Drop it and do something different.

Producer 1 - damn, the dog thing this past week did really bad in the ratings

Producer 2 - well, let's wait and see. Next's week's ep is the dog thing too, but with different members, so it could do better.

the only reason I'm asking is because if these dogs are here for the show (i.e. not owned by the girls), why isn't Reina + Sayu getting a dog too, while in the next episode Risa + Rika + Ai-chan all getting a dog?

They tape that stuff weeks, if not months in advance. They spend a couple days producing hours of material, and then they parse that material out over the next dozen episodes. Here it is October, yet they're featuring all outdoor segments (e.g., zoo and farm visits, dog walks, Hakkan CM) that were obviously taped back in the early summer.

I imagine they have even more of a backlog than usual because the last few months have been crammed full with the Wonderful Hearts summer tour, Ribbon no Kishi rehearsals and performances, the cultural festival, new single rehearsals and performances, Konno and Ogawa's graduations, and so on. Compared to all of that, taping HaroMoni is extremely low priority.

not trying to argue with you here, but they do tape outdoor segments in autumn, especially since its still October, probably tokyo's temperature is about 18C daytime . And with the way they are dressed (boots & jeans) it doesnt seem like its still summer.

Okay, i admit that the last episodes were baaaaaad... but, i always manage to find a very little something that cheers me up in each episode...
(however, i had to look really hard for this one!)  

The good eps, i keep watching them over and over... The bad ones, i watch them once or twice, and that's it.

The truth is that people just love to bitch about Haro! Moni, really...

On some boards, there are people bitching and bashing EVERY SINGLE EPISODE week after week... Why the heck are they still downloading it, huh ???

Just finished watching this week's H!M, and I have to say it was good, not excellent, but Rika's antics and reactions with the dogs were funny enough to keep the interest, specially in the Yoga for dogs class ( yes, that's right, Yoga for dogs). Plus Rika looks HOT with those shorts and boots
By the way, the guy that walked with Sayumi on the Mezamashi Fashion Show is the same guy that goes along with Rika, Ai and Risa on today's show, and he has some funny moments with his dog too at the Yoga place.
Anyway, I don't regret downloading this episode. May not be one of the best, but it's not among the worst either:)

I miss the days where I actually started looking forward to weekly H!M episodes, and getting all excited when it was in the middle of downloading

The 'dog episodes' were great at first, and hilarious, but now...it's just getting boring. It's like watching the same thing every week, except they rotate the members...I don't feel motivated anymore to download episodes, unless they start adding something new. Even the World Games is getting to me, sadly.

LOL  I'm so with you on that one!  Just think two hours of KameiGaki!  but seriously if they would just add in..say..Sayu to the Hakkan thing I think it would be one of the funniest segments ever!
