Chapter 5 – Special Day Part 1
After they ate breakfast, Saki and Miyabi took turns on using the bathroom, as they get ready to go. Saki’s mother bid them farewell, as they went out of the door and walked towards the train station. The older girl sat on one of the benches in the waiting area, while they wait for the train to come. Miyabi sat beside her,
“Do you really need to work until later in the afternoon?”Saki nodded as she flips to the next page of a textbook she brought with her,
“Are there any exemptions?” Saki looked at her, closing the book.
“I’m sorry Miya, if I don’t need to do this, I’ll spend the whole three days with you.” Saki leaned in and kissed her cheek. She looked at the tracks to see if the train is already visible.
She couldn’t take her eyes away from the older girl, as she wanted to tell her what is going to happen at the day of her last practicum,
“Saki…”The older girl turned to her, smiling happily,
“hmm?”“Do you remember any special event that will be happening this week?” She asked, examining the other girls face.
Saki tilted her head sideways, thinking of a special event that Miyabi was asking,
“Well?” Miyabi asked, getting a little bit worried, as she guessed the other girl forgot all about it.
Saki kept quiet until a loud honk came from the tracks,
“Ah! The train is here,” Saki exclaimed, as she stands up, held Miyabi’s hand and drags her inside the train.
The train trip was quiet, no one even said a word, but the older girl held Miyabi's hand and their fingers intertwined.
She didn’t forget, right? Miyabi asked herself, placing her head on Saki’s shoulder.
She won’t forget right? She’s my girlfriend. She won’t forget. She continued telling herself, until Saki finally talks.
“Miya,” she started, as she stared at their hands,
“hmm?” she answered, looking at the other girls face,
“What do you want for your birthday?”Miyabi’s eyes widened,
I knew she wouldn’t forget, she hums a tune for a while, as she thinks of a thing she wants,
“Can I have anything?” she asked slyly, as her hands held Saki’s hand in between.
Saki looked at her, smiling her usual, warm, loving, caring smile, as she caressed Miyabi’s face,
“Of course, anything my princess would want.”“Then, I want-” she stopped, remembering the shoe, but she knew it was impossible to buy that for now,
“I want you come and stay in the party I’ll be having two days from now.”Saki looked at her, confused,
why didn’t she ask for those expensive shoes?“That’s all?” Saki asked, tying to see if she will ask for it.
The younger girl nodded,
“Yes, nothing else. I just want you to be in the party and maybe, we could announce about us…” her voice faded as she said the last word. Many doubts came popping in their heads as to what the others would think if they get to know about them.
The train pulled to a stop, Saki took the younger girls hand and led her out to the streets. When they arrived on Miyabi’s house, she wanted to let her girlfriend in but she remembered, the other had work to do,
“So…see you later then.”“Yeah, see you later. Oh yeah, I’ll be bringing snacks when I come by.” Saki smiled genuinely at the younger girl, she held her hand again, but this time, pulled her closer and planted a kiss on her lips. Miyabi didn’t want this to end, but the older pulled back, and bid her goodbye.
That afternoon, true to her word, Saki came by with snacks they just ended up finishing before they could give to Miyabi’s parents. The next day went by the same, nothing really special happened between the two of them, only a few hugs and kisses.
Finally, the third day came, and it was also Miyabi’s special day. Not wanting to get out of bed, she reached her phone and found 16 unread messages,
What? 16 messages? She opened the first one, which she received exactly midnight, she read it aloud,
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIYA! As you want for your birthday, I’ll be going to your party later. I just need to finish my work and I promise, I’ll be there as soon as I can.”She was so happy that the very first one who greeted her was Saki.
She really stayed up until midnight as she promised me on the phone last night. She scrolls down, as continued reading,
”You must be asleep by now, so when you read this, just imagine that I’m beside you, holding your hand tightly, while I caress your cheek, and give you a kiss,” she did as she told her and after imagining it, she actually felt a warm peck on her cheek. She felt her ears burning, as her face turned red. Her face can’t contain her shade of red when she read the last sentence,
“I love you. <3 <3”Her heart, racing as she got thrilled on finally seeing Saki again later in her special day, she opened her other messages and found out all of H!P Kids has greeted her, and one unexpected greeting from Tanaka-san.
She replied all of them with a
“Thank you,” and an invitation to her party later. She wanted the whole karaoke place to herself, but it was too big and she just invited 16 people, so that means its only going to be two rooms if they won’t fit in one.
She threw herself on the bed as thoughts of Saki came popping in her mind then she remembered Risako and the desire she felt, when she kissed her.
It was…great. She can’t describe it anymore, and she fell into deep thought,
When I kissed Risako that day, it felt wonderful, enjoyable, passionate, and I actually wanted more, that’s why I leaned in after. Now that she thinks of it again,
why can’t I describe it as before? Is it really just for that time? She kept quiet, thinking she wanted to kiss Risako again, just to confirm if she really liked the kiss lustfully or it was just for that one time, that she thought Saki wouldn’t see. She shook her head, trying to get those thoughts out, she stared at the ceiling, trying to find something on it to grab her attention, but her thoughts lingered again,
I’ll kiss her…She jumped out of bed, hitting both her cheeks,
“Miyabi! What are you thinking! You can’t do that! You have a girlfriend, a GREAT girlfriend!” She kept walking back and forth, organizing her thoughts,
You can’t find any other girl like her Miyabi, and you LOVE her!Her pace got faster, as a trail became visible,
I’ll place some rules. First, cheating is a NO-NO! Upon saying this, she instantly remembered Tsuji-san. A smile formed on her face but she shook her head, making herself focus,
Second! Making Saki cry is a sin! Now, I’m accused guilty for that rule. She continued walking, not feeling any pain on her feet,
“Lastly, love her.” She finally stopped, smiling contentedly on her rules, but then, her smile faded as she lay down on the floor, wanting to do a tantrum,
“What number is that rule? I can’t believe I forgot what number I was on.” She pouts, as she did do a tantrum,
I feel stupid and need to go back to kindergarten…***In Nakai-san’s clothing store that afternoon***
Saki cleaned up the mess as Nakai-san turned the sign around, showing CLOSED behind the glass. Nakai helped Saki finish cleaning, before letting her go.
“Thank you for helping me Shimizu-san. I’m disappointed on Cho for not coming today. If he comes tomorrow to collect his pay, I’ll just give him the amount for two days.” Saki giggled as Nakai-san looked furious as he thought of Cho, a boy about 5 years older than her. Nakai-san is really upset that Cho didn’t come.
“The one that really made me pissed of is that, he let you take care of it all. The sad thing there is that, you’re a girl. He’s a guy! You’re younger. He’s older!” Saki really felt bad for Nakai-san, even if Cho let her do everything today, Nakai-san helped her along the times, people keep on asking her for the shirts they were holding.
“That’s okay Nakai-san, we managed to sell everything today. Let Cho be, maybe he met an emergency and need to excuse himself for the day.” Saki tried to cheer him up, and he did, reaching a brown envelope on the counter and handed it to Saki.
“Here. I have put more than you’re expected pay. Thank you again Shimizu-san.” Saki wanted to give back the extra money, but Nakai insisted that she keep it.
“Thank you Nakai-san for letting me help you.” Saki bowed down, showing her thanks.
Nakai shook his head,
“It’s okay Shimizu-san, and you’re a big help.” He smiled at her but got curious,
“Well Shimizu-san, I’m sorry for asking but, why did you want to help work for me these three days?”Saki smiled, playing with the envelope on her hands,
“I was saving for a gift for a special someone.” She felt a slight blush came up but she tried hard to hide it.
Nakai-san smiled happily at her,
“You worked hard just to buy a gift for a special someone?” he kept on smiling as Saki felt him staring at her,
“That’s very thoughtful of you. He must really be lucky to have a girlfriend like you.”Her face turning redder, she thanked Nakai-san again before leaving the store. She went straight to the Nike shop and looked for the shoes Miyabi wanted. She circled the whole shop but she couldn’t find it. She made her way to an employee of the store and asked about those shoes,
“I’m sorry miss, but someone already bought it, and that is the only stock we got.” Seeing that Saki’s expression changed, failure and disheartened feeling came creeping to the employee’s back,
“If you really want that shoes, the girl who bought it, just went out of the shop.” With that, she thanked the man as she dashed out of the shop, trying to catch up with the girl, the employee pointed out.
“Sumimasen!” She called out as the girl stopped and looked her way.
“The cute pink colored shoes in the Nike shop, did you buy it?” Saki asked, gasping for air.
The girl nodded,
“Yes, it’s cute isn’t it.”Saki stood straight and made eye contact with the girl,
“Please! Please let me buy it from you,” she bowed down, as a sign of sincerity,
“Please, my friend really wanted that and I promised I’ll buy it for her birthday.”Surprised as to what the younger girl just asked, she held the paper bag closer to her chest,
“I’m sorry, but I can’t. I want these shoes.”Saki looked at her again before bowing down as before,
“Please! I’ll pay you more than the amount you bought it. Just let me buy it from you, please!” Saki pleaded, but the girl didn’t agree and walked away. I need to get those shoes.
She ran to the girl again and bowed down as before, still pleading for the girl to release it to her, she did this all over again as the girl tried to walk away three times.
“I said NO!” Saki was taken a back,
“I don’t want to sell this to you. As I said, I like this shoe and I won’t sell it!” The girl walked away, leaving Saki feeling disappointed and frustrated,
I guess I have to bring her to the shop tomorrow and as what she wanted besides that. She walked to a well-known bakery near the place of Miyabi’s party. She was in charge of the cake as the others told her last night. She picked this simple white colored cake and let the baker design it the same as in the paper she just handed. I hope it turns out great, Momo and Chinami’s joint drawing of the cakes design made it look great, but I hope the baker understands what they put there.
She sat down at the table, just in front of the counter as she waits for the cake. She felt her phone vibrated, taking it out and reading the message,
“How is the cake doing? Miyabi’s getting crazy waiting for it,” she let out a short giggle as she read Maasa’s mail.
“They are getting the decorations done. So what exactly is Miyabi doing?”“She’s walking back and forth, while saying, Hurry up will yah! I’m getting anxious. Momo kept pulling her down to her seat but she gets up and starts to walk back and forth again. You should tell the pastry man to hurry up, Miyabi wants the cake right now.”Saki almost laughed when she read about Miyabi and the last sentence in Maasa’s mail, Maasa doesn’t know that the cake is not what Miyabi wanted now, she told herself, giggling,
she wanted me to go there now.The man in the counter called her, handing out the cake in a lovely box. She payed for it and she went straight to the party.
