They changed the system pretty much didn't they? Or did I never notice those semi finals before?

nachdenki;
Yeeh, the rules are messed up. But I guess they had to, cause it would be death to watch one big show with 40 countries. =p
I'm hopin the hosts won't be the same in the final as yesterday. -__-;;

I might check out the finals but I don't have enough interest for the semi-finals
I also think our (Finland's) Eurovision song is a boring, generic pop song. lol
I think it was Israel that had my favourite song last year, so I hope they have a good song again and do well
Looks like they made it to finals

I saw like 10 seconds of every country in the re-cap.. they all sucked. When Lordi won some time ago, that was awesome.
I'm embarrassed for the Dutch act. Aw well, at least the NLs aren't taking this thing seriously anymore.. at least, that's what I hope.

I don't think I will watch this.
Ralph Siegel is out too, he was the producer of Dschingis Khan(covered by Berryz Koubou).
Don't really like him the way he's now, he became just an old asshole
The producer (Alex C. aka U96) for the german song is the one who made "Das Boot" - Wasn't that the first techno-song in the charts?
But for the contest swing again? That was last year a fail, it won't be better this year.

Secound Semi Final just ended:
10 out of the 19 made it to the final:
Croatia
Ireland
Latvia
Serbia
Poland
Norway
Cyprus
Slovakia
Denmark
Slovenia
Hungary
Azerbaijan
Greece
Lithuania
Moldova
Albania
Ukraine
Estonia
Netherlands
Aw, I thought Ireland and Hungary were good >< Much better then Greece and Estonia. =P
Fun that Moldova made it. I don't know about the song but the title is funny XP
Hora Din Moldova (Which in swedish is 'Whore Your Moldova"
)
btw, Ukraine is FIERCE
Only problem is the singer looks slighty old but still

I can't believe I actually watched both semi-finals this year. It probably won't be as fun on Saturday at our Eurovision party now because there won't really be any surprises. As I was watching I gave all the songs a mark out of 10 (quality of song + entertainment value of song) and a lot of my high marked ones went out!
I'm voting for Iceland because it has a the most common chord progressions, a big note, a key change and a pretty young blonde girl. One must be technical about these things

Final participants for tomorrow night:
http://www.eurovision.tv/page/moscow2009/the-participants/final
According to google Norway is (was a week ago) the favorite to win. Looking at online hits etc. I think that guy pretty much sucked, lol. Part from that I haven't heard even one contestant. Not even Sweden.
I'll try to watch it if I'm home.

Yay, hopefully I'll find rips of the songs from the finals. I found some of the songs from a previous year somewhere online. Can't remember where though

There's a few torrents with of all of the songs but I'm assuming I can't link to off-site torrents. Just do a search for Eurovision on the torrent site that was in the news again recently
Also they're all on Youtube.

Finals starting soon... Bring on the hilariously terrible music and agonizing performances! Let's see how long I can watch before the pain becomes unbearable.
There are perks, of course... Germany should be interesting at least:

Right now the voting is going on and within one hour we should know the winner.
Someone told me norway already had booked an arena to host next year... xP
I'm hoping for either Ukraine, Turkey, Azerbaijan or Norway.
(and sweden but I don't want to seem like an ass x3)
btw, I didn't vote ;P

If I voted, I'd vote for Germany just to see Dita again!
Lol. Or Maybe Estonia, they were beautiful, good singing, and the music wasn't terrible drivel like most acts.

Hahaha what a hilariously crappy winner! All the Harry Potter fans were voting en masse.
And who the hell was voting for Turkey? That was the shittiest Shakira rip-off I've seen in a while. Oh mankind, how you puzzle me...
And Woo Hoo Finland! Last Place!

We're back to where we belong? lol
I do NOT UNDERSTAND why Norway got that many votes except that the boy looked like Harry Potter and *vomits* That act did not deserve to break Lordi's point record!!! Fucking teen girls and old mamas voting Norway
