If I had to choose, I'd probably say Sousuke Sagara from Full Metal Panic. Maybe it's because I relate to him in that he's so clueless when it comes to socializing?

But, he's a strong character with convictions and determination to protect what he cares about. Other notables include Hitomi from Escaflowne, Batou from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Alto Saotome from Macross Frontier, Kyon and Haruhi from Haruhi Suzumiya, Kou Uraki from Gundam 0083, Asuma and Noa from Patlabor, and Miyuki and Natsumi from You're Under Arrest.

Female favourite is Arisa Uotani from Fruits Basket. I like her coolness and how she hates Kyo and Yuki.

Male favourite is Momiji Sooma from Fruits Basket (Yes, I'm a FB fan...), he's cute, genki and super adorable!

Man I love how Kenshin's a "peace-loving killing machine" and I wish I had his insane jump ability plus swordsmanship.
